  1. Puss N Boots has just opened. For a review and on ride footage visit Dejiki.com http://dejiki.com/2015/04/uss-puss-in-boots-giant-journey-ride-review-video-photo-tour/
  2. I visited LPM yesterday as well. It's amazing how popular this place is and yet management doesn't seem to want to speed things up a bit. Needless to say, I didn't go on any of the rides.
  3. ^Pretty much. I have a Sharp Viewcam, which is 8mm(with no need of an intermediate cassette thing), which plays in mono, but the viewer no longer works. Luckily, you can still see the picture when you plug it into a video recorder. Problem with the pre-digital cameras is that every time you copy it, the picture goes down a grade in quality - still, better than nothing at all. Looking at a close up of your picture Reanimated tells me that the cartridge is for a VHS-C tape - a different format.
  4. If you plug a camera into a VHS/DVD recorder you should get okay results (that's how I transferred my old tape of MW). Once it's recorded onto a DVD and finalized you can put it into your computer and then upload it quite easily. I have one camera that is pre-digital that I'm going to transfer some old footage of WDW and 20th Century Fox Studios Sydney. I'll tell you how I go.
  5. Yeah, just the level of detail is not something you see a lot of at an Australian park.
  6. Wow - they really missed a trick with this one. Visited Werribee Open Range Zoo today - talk about the best themed park in Australia. Parts of this are on par with Animal Kingdom and other international zoological gardens, like Singapore's Night Safari. I don't know how much they've spent on upgrades recently, but the central area is very well themed. I also think you get a better view of the Gorillas here than you do at Melbourne Zoo. With so much space here, surely you could have room for rides without disturbing the animals. The tram ride goes for 40 minutes - the place is that big.
  7. ^ You never know.. This thread was originally about the attractions for 2014-15, wasn't it? I guess we'll soon find out what's next. Let's speculate some more..
  8. ^ Thanks, Mark. Didn't see that clip. I presume construction starts after the season finishes.
  9. I think a park that is well-themed and has a bit of history behind it. I love Disneyland California as it was the original and has so many rides and attractions crammed into such a small space. It helps that they have a great selection of food outlets and have staff who actually want to be there. It has fantastic gardens and grounds too.
  10. Indeed and a cute little mono rail type bike thing that took you back up. It was always breaking down and kids were always coming off the Toboggan slides despite the signage, so they ditched it around the early 90s. At one stage Funfields and Adventure World must have been practically identical. I wonder if that's our clue to AW's next attraction.
  11. Adventure World's latest Throwback Thursday post - one of the original park maps. Pretty sure I've got the tea towel of this somewhere. The kids' part of the park certainly has changed. It was a lot more like Tom Sawyer's Island then. I remember the circus arena too. Very cool. When are they going to bring back wooden rulers as souvenirs?
  12. The Battle Boats would have gotten you very wet. Did you see Affinity?
  13. The in-park video I have is dated 1997 and includes Lethal Weapon. Superman appears to be in the parade and gives a kid a hug in a later scene. Freaky seeing Main Street without a roof.
  14. If it's below 27 degrees it's time to discount. Too many parks give away the gate to stay in competition with the Gold Coast.
  15. ^ That would be cool if you were wrong. FYI: The third pipe is for 'comms'.
  16. Yeah, I'm not. Those things are really expensive. I wish it was one of those. Whatever it is, it's fairly complicated with all its different coloured markers. Enjoy these photos. Welcome to Flag Day.
  17. Lots more pictures of the hillside today. There are coloured flags and conduits everywhere.
  18. Apparently.. only caught the kids show at AW, today. Nice, stuff. When they said there would be singing, I thought it would be prerecorded -- apparently not. The girl who was 'fairy Floss' wasn't the one from the ads, but she was good enough. There was a back story longer than a Game of Thrones novel and a song that wouldn't be out of place at Disney. Sweet little, show.
  19. Was watching the souvenir video from the 1990s and he's in that.
  20. Not a lot on Lost Perth - stills of Atlantis and some video of the bumper boats at AW. Here's the latest from Throw back Thursday. Looks like this shot was taken from the fence line at the top of the park. Plenty of construction work underway. It looks to be the monorail going up the hill and not the toboggan tracks coming down.. but I could be wrong. The close up shots on Instagram are getting lots of likes (and inane comments). https://instagram.com/adventureworldperth/
  21. Yeah, but I like what you did with the mapping on the ground. I've been trying to figure out that shape. Could well be the outline of the Kraken slides. Makes you wonder how people are going to get back to the top. Can't wait. Lost Perth 1980s is about to begin.
  22. Just as long as the GC parks don't poach Mark. In other news.. 'Lost Perth: The 1980s' will be on our local channel 9 tomorrow night. There's definitely Atlantis footage in there. Also.. Local Magazine 'Scoop:Perth Guide' did a little snippet on our theme parks (pg 72). http://www.scoop.com.au/Magazines/Scoop-Perth-Guide
  23. Does that mean the coaster changes its name every time a new version of the game comes out?
  24. It's sad that they don't seem to have that same in-house knowledge anymore and seem to order the rides as packages from overseas.
