  1. Only ever knew this as a conference room, not a buffet. Too many problems - same as Disney had - no competition - this IMO could be solved with a tender for the business. Because if it's cold and raining you might get wet. (most likely it's not popular enough to warrant it running year round) Didn't they say that they would be closed frequently for the construction of the water coaster? I'm sure they'll probably get around to it. Maybe they're waiting for NFC to take off a bit more and utilise that? But probably they just don't want to invest the money in it yet - plus believe it or not, not everyone has a smartphone. I'd really like to see better use made of the various buildings at Movie World, and especially the theatre where the Loony Tunes show is/was, and the area leading to Wild West Falls. It is just wasted space! *This post is for everyone else's benefit as I assume I'm still blocked for whatever reason I was blocked before
  2. IMO if you want to watermark your pics, fine, but maybe try a clear/white-ish grey watermark that doesn't distract so much from the photo
  3. This is true, but you'd think that even just one of their beloved A-Frame signs (are they still using them or did they give up?) could be thrown up in the area to say "hey come back in a couple of months, something will be here".
  4. I haven't really been following this too much apart from just some bits and pieces here and there, apart from the ASX release, has MW even mentioned this anywhere, even if just suggested on facebook or something like that? Or is there anything at the park to suggest work is being done in the area?
  5. I'm assuming push still is blocking my posts, but for the rest of you. http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/About_Western_Australia/Weather_and_Climate/Pages/Climate_Weather.aspx The northern winter, or 'dry' season (April-September), has long days of sunshine and blue skies. Temperatures range from 24 degrees Celsius overnight to around 34 degrees Celsius during the day The northern summer, or 'wet' season (October-March), has temperatures in the mid to high 30s and high humidity. The southern coastal areas of the South West region average a maximum of around 32 degrees in summer and 14 degrees in the winter.
  6. Congratulations, you can see the point I'm making.
  7. Sharks - Amazing animals that most people love seeing up close where they would not always have the option of doing so, plus they have the choice to go diving with them. Rays - Adult and children alike love to see them up close and have the ability to make contact with them in a relatively safe environment. Other fish - A lot of people love aquariums, huge ones at that. Everyone knows Sea World is more of a Marine Park than a Theme Park
  8. They should make a kids car ride through a replica Movieworld.
  9. Depends. Those walls in the arena looked somewhat temporary from what I remember (they didn't go up to the roof did they?) Even so, a few blocked off areas here and there can change it up a bit.
  10. I'm sure they'll miss you. I on the other hand would consider renewing my pass to check it out.
  11. ^ ITICWYDT Also for those of you playing along at home, it's an article about the titanic announcement. (If that wasn't obvious enough)
  12. I even put some effort into this one Not much admittedly, but some...
  13. The "to die for" - I'm thinking they're going zombie apocalypse themed.
  14. From their facebook. Dreamworld Australia 23 hours ago Today, humans claimed victory over both alien and predator enemies. The AVPX facility is now closed for quarantine. Beware, a new enemy will awaken in 2013. Are you ready?
  15. So it looks as though JacobSibbald's has just become a reality. I must say I did not see this coming at all, but with the amount of money he has, this might not actually be as bad as first thought. Judging his interest in Dinosaurs though, thought he might have gone more for Seaworld. Then again, maybe that's why Seaworld's dinosaur island is leaving? Scared of a little possible competition maybe? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clive Palmer’s Dreamworld March 31, 2013 Queensland billionaire mining magnate Clive Palmer has unveiled his plans to redevelop the Dreamworld and White Water World theme parks on the Gold Coast to add to his tourism portfolio. Mr Palmer said his new company Blue Star Parks Pty Ltd has made a "multi-billion-dollar" deal to purchase the Gold Coast parks from its previous owner, Ardent Leisure. The exact cost is unknown. He made the announcement on the same day he revealed his hopes for his “Blue Star” brand to be Australia’s largest company by 2020. Dreamworld and White Water World as they stand today. Photo: AP Mr Palmer said the companies had signed a deal to keep the parks running until at least 2021 and Mr Palmer has already announced plans to expand the park and has reportedly made contact with local land owners to discuss plans. "It will be every bit as spectacular as the original parks but of course it will be updated with state-of-the-art rides never before seen in Australia and a stronger focus on themed areas" Mr Palmer said. Mr Palmer said the purchase was something he had always dreamed of since he was a child. "These people produced a themepark that is still considered to be Australia’s Disneyland and we want that spirit to go on for another 100 years," he said. Mr Palmer owns the Sunshine Coast's Coolum Golf and Spa Resort, and the Gold Coast's Robina Woods and Colonial golf courses. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16. Exactly, then Pin and Gazza seemed to completely miss the point

  20. Thought you were meaning replace the theatre with a jungle cruise. I'm thinking (fake) trees, monkeys, birds, jungle looking flooring etc in the theatre with a few new movies - this would be more of a longer running show as the theming would need to stay relevant though.
  21. Speaking of the theatre, I'd really like to see them make it more like Movieworld's one with moving seats and a bit more theming. Not sure if that's possible with their space allocation though, but a nice jungle themed theatre could go well.
