  1. Links to the others by any chance? I haven't heard of them. The only one I can remember is the Wipeout style ride at the Adelaide show that fell apart.
  2. What, you're expecting "ride may fall apart at any time" to be on the sign?
  3. Given the amount of sensors rides seems to have, I'd say the ride computer has gone "hang on, that wheel should be connected - e-stop"
  4. I am now happy to release EXCLUSIVE ON RIDE FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT
  5. As of 20 minutes ago: (News.com.au) UPDATE: AN ‘unstable’ cart has been thwarting rescue efforts to remove some passengers still stuck at the top of a Movieworld ride. Obviously I'm no expert, but why leave the heavy people on the side still connected to the track, thereby adding more weight to the only remaining wheels? Why not just hook a rope around the harness and lower the disconnected side?
  6. How did they stop the ride out of the brake run though?
  7. Source: GoldCoastBulletin (Let's ignore the fact they can't move a cursor off the screen, or take a screenshot)
  8. A statement from Village Roadshow issued this afternoon saying there has been an issue with a wheel.
  9. Lawsuit - maybe (most likely out of court settlements though) Closure - temporary, yes while it's investigated Removal - very doubtful How it occurred - let's stop and think about this for a moment. We're a bunch of people reading about this online and discussing it on this forum. None of us have conducted an investigation into this matter, none of us can tell you exactly what happened, so no, we do not know how this occurred and aren't likely to for weeks.
  10. Who here is trying to play anything down? We're all talking about a developing story with information coming from mixed sources.
  11. I wonder if Dreamworld has the same problem with their rollercoasters importing illegal weapons?
  12. Yeah, I'm sure they looked at a loose wheel and went, "nah screw it, we'll not worry about that." I know you're only young, but fuck, think before you type. Ride going down for a month? I'd be surprised if they had in running within 3 months given how much investigation I would think they'd have to go through.
  13. Can we have this thread title changed to "Green Lantern wheel does exactly what it's not supposed to do" ? And disappointingly, I've been listening to gold coast firecom and QPS dispatch for the last 15 minutes and there's been no mention of progress on it (no mention of it all actually).
  14. "Young reporter for the Gold Coast Bulletin." Well she'll fit right in at news corp
  15. In saying that, this is quite surprising... From News corp who usually post overhyped bullshit on everything: I would have expected "14 People nearly fall to their death as world's most famous rollercoaster falls apart" Interesting From Brisbane Times: By this picture they posted: Photo: Josh Adsett/Seven News Maybe there's some truth to it? With a completely uneducated guess, maybe the bottom guide wheel did drop off and cause the cart to sit like that?
  16. It's a nice get rich reasonably quick scheme for the CEO though.
  17. Whether or not they join, or join and make it known that they're here, it would be a pretty stupid thing to avoid given this is the most popular place to discuss the parks in Australia. Plus, Parkz didn't have to buy 'likes' on Facebook to become popular.
  18. I feel as though we shouldn't be mean to her just yet. We'll have to wait and see what happens with the park before we make too many comments. Who knows, she might even join the forums if we're nice enough. In regards to the headlines, you can't go past the classic "Which Dreamworld ride was caught cheating in the Big Brother house?" or "Our exclusive photos of Kenny Koala's breakdown"
  19. Looking back through older photos, I'm fairly sure it's always been like that.
  20. For the sake of longevity in your consoles, keep the PS4 lying down.
  21. Monster hunter sucks IMO
  22. This is a perfect example why we'll never see: (or at least certainly should never see) >Half-Life 3 >Portal 3 >Left 4 Dead 3 Atari should have left it to die when it went bankrupt, or at least sell it (the rights) to Frontier or someone like that who could do it justice. RCTM was an absolute failure with it's micro-transactions. The franchise should be left to rot how it was originally after Soaked and Wild came out. I'm not holding much hope for next year's "Coaster Park Tycoon" but we'll see how Frontier goes with that one. Theme Park Studio was a let down for me too.
  23. They changed developers or whoever it was that was doing the animations for them half way through the project. Remember the original screenshots? It's not going to be this anymore.....
