  1. Motocoaster. It sounded good in theory, but the execution was poor. I'm not just talking about the fact it's a slow coaster, I mean the theming element to it was a complete let down. Those DK coaster plans look awesome though
  2. I'd think the issue is more that it was an in-house design, and while being 99.99% safe, they're taking the "better safe than sorry" approach, especially if it's found that the design/construction of TRR contributed in any way to the accident.
  3. I guess worst case it would just be a painting on the wall of it, but we know they can do animatronics, so I'm still holding hope that one day a functioning model of something appears in there.
  4. ^ With or without the temporary construction fence around it?
  5. In saying that, a mini Sea World could be cool. Just imagine the little dolphins
  6. ^ Is there any suggestion it will be or are you thinking more 'hoping' rather than 'waiting'?
  7. I'd say it will be a while before we hear any official info about what it is. Maybe 'Wild' will make a return?
  8. Would have been settled long ago most likely.
  9. I took 460 photos last night of White Christmas. Lucky I'm going back next weekend as there's only about 4 photos worth keeping. As for the event overall? It was pretty good. It's certainly kid focused as expected but a great event none the less. The only down sides I found were the lack of signs to what's happening where. Yes I know you get a map when you go in, but a few extra signs on the facades wouldn't hurt instead of just the A-frames which you can easily miss in a sea of people. There isn't really too much going on til 7, so if you're going to eat there you may as well do that between 6-7 then just line up for the parade at 8. There's enough entertainment in the main area to keep kids busy while you wait. My only other complaint isn't at the park, but the guests who decide to line the streets with backpacks to secure their large groups a spot for the parade. So when you consider my only real complaints are a lack of some extra signs and something the park can't really control, it was a pretty good night. I'd suggest going with friends to socalise even if you don't have any kids. It's a good night none the less. I'd also suggest if you go back this weekend, that as soon as the parade finishes, get out of the park as soon as you can. Mainly because I want to hang around and get photos of the lights with not many people around. Thanks!
  10. I just hope that when it does go, it gets a proper Viking funeral and they set everything on fire and push it to the middle of the lake.
  11. They're 100% correct. There is no "actual" snow. But given it's an event on the gold coast, that's hardly surprising. There's a lot of fake snow machines that put out bubble clumps to represent snow. I don't get the fog though.
  12. Look, I agree that it was done to bury the article, and in a sense that worked as I know a few enthusiasts who missed it, however, there has been and will be plenty of other opportunities to release it and bury the news. Maybe back when the focus was still all on DW and the audit, or better yet, maybe when DW announced they'd be reopening, just not the opening day itself. It just seems tacky.
  13. Ah, fair enough. Even so, would have thought DW would have been overly cautious with stuff like that.
  14. Disclaimer: I personally have no problem with the design as it stands at the moment. Given the area is a pool/water feature, how does a fence like that suffice with our over-protective laws?
  15. 1 - It's part of the building still on the map. 2 - You can't exactly just build a fence and pretend the mountain isn't there. 3 - The old queue area provides a nice shady seating area on a hot day. 4 - There's no reason to cover an already SBNO that most people have long given up on.
  16. Ok, no one else has said it yet, and as much as I'd like to, this isn't going to help make friends in the right places, but IMO it has to be said. Dick move Sea World. There are 364 other days in a year. Why did you have to release this to the media on a day like today? It's one thing to announce a new coaster the day before/of/after the opening of the Lego store down the road (for example), but to put out a statement like this on the day that Dreamworld reopened after such a tragic event? Not cool. This was a day that the theme park industry and community should have come together as one to show their support for the reopening of a park. Regardless of which park or how much of a competitor they are. I'm honestly a little disappointed to not have seen photos of any of the management team from any VRTP park showing their support at Dreamworld. (Apologies if they were there and I just haven't come across any mention of it.)
  17. I want to get some pics from over the wall of the rapids, but at the same time, I feel it's a bit insensitive to do so this weekend.
  18. If they did modify the layout of the train as per the map, then there would be an "old" section of line wouldn't there?
  19. From what I've seen, the wall does seem to blend in reasonably well, and it does do a good job of blocking everything out.
  20. This popped up as a suggested video and seems somewhat relevant.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkKKV11RcRc (Also last post I'm making on this since this is way too off topic now)
  21. After pumping out 13 hours of it the other week, I haven't been back. Not so because I don't want to, but I haven't felt very creative lately so instead I played some Mafia 3, and tonight I grabbed Steep and gave that a go.
