It's probably easier for you to count which parks you haven't been to I've been to: Movie World Sea World Wet n Wild Gold Coast Dreamworld Disneyland Paris Legoland Billund Give me a few days and I can add Alton Towers to that list.

By the look of the wall at the back, it isn't going to use up the entire building, so hopefully they can think up something good for the other part of the building (other than maintenance storage). Sadly it doesn't look like they'll be much room for people to watch what happens, unless they're planning to keep the hole in the wall.

Personally, I don't think this will be too bad. I've been on the driving school ride at Legoland (a good 6 or so years ago) and from what I can remember it was pretty good fun. And parents looked like they enjoyed watching their kids drive around (almost) following to real road rules. It isn't the amazing family ride that LTRR was, but it shouldn't just be an entertainer for kids.

Breaking from the current conversation. Do any of the theme parks offer temporary jobs over the summer period? And if so, when would you be able to apply? I'm wanting to get a job because I'm currently broke...

This is some really interesting stuff. One thing I'd really like to know, how much of the rides are automated? What do you need to press to dispatch it, and do you need to manually release the harnesses? This is mainly relating to superman, but some info about the other rides would be cool to.

A Phantom/Haunted Manor style ride would be good IMO. It's different enough to SDSC, and it could fit in a smaller, more compact area if you wanted to.

That was sort of my reasoning for asking the question. I though it'd be cool for either a big expansion of Movie World, or a whole new park.

Just wondering, does anyone know who owns all of the farmland out behind Australia Outback Spectacular? Is it all privately owned, or is it owned by Village Roadshow?

So, back to the topic of new rides on the Gold Coast. I was in Disneyland Paris last week, and space mountain won as my favorite ride. It's a very different experience, and something I'd love to be able to see on the Gold Coast. I'd love to see it at movie world, there's plenty of space out behind scooby doo that a building of the right size could be built. And for the sake of a theme, Gravity would work really well IMO, it's a WB film, and the idea of dodging debris would fit in well with the movement of a roller coaster. So, that's my idea.

I find I use a recent posts block on another site probably more than it's worth. It's far better than a recent topics block, because that doesn't necessarily show what discussions are currently active.

Plus, it would be a perfect replacement for LTRR. As far as I know, Lego would be far more relevant to children of today than Looney Tunes. But whether it replaces LTRR or not, it'd be a great ride to have in the park.

Concepts always look much better than the real product. But the difference here is quite big.

The mini cars was definitely going ahead as of late May last year. Someone said earlier that it was put on hold to fund the new polar bear shores extension. Wild, I'm not so sure about. They were advertising from a fair while before the opening date without releasing very much information. This is more likely to be a case of premature advertisement, but you still can't be certain.

I actually think Sydney would be the place to go if you want international visitors. The Gold Coast is more of destination for domestic tourists to go visit, although it is becoming more popular with international tourists. If something this big was built on the Gold Coast, I think it would attract at least a few more international tourists.

Too hot But Hong Kong is just an awkward little thing where no one actually knows what country it's in. And I've found Singapore far better than Hong Kong.

If you are going on an overseas trip, I'd recommend you pick the place you want to go to without considering the theme parks, look at them as something extra to do. Just my opinion though. Europe is my favourite place in the world (haven't been to the US, it doesn't excite me much) because it has such an interesting history, and is an amazing experience. Europe has plenty of stuff to do, and plenty of good theme parks.

It's fairly old. And as far as I know, it has been experiencing some issues with cracking in the tracks.
