Evidence so far shows that Movie World will be classing it as a hypercoaster so that's good enough for me 😜

Found this recent development application online for a "Hypercoaster Footbridge" - perhaps this is for the maintenance bay platforms?

Starro the Conqueror Flying Starfish Coaster!

Personally I feel the connotations of the word "suicide" don't sit well with something made for amusement. Working in retail when the DVD for Suicide Squad was released it was surprising the number of complaints we had for having in store signage/posters with the word Suicide on it. Call it "political correctness" but I don't think the ride will be themed to the suicide squad.

That is most likely to do with licensing agreements and royalties. Movie World would have to pay the actors if they used their likeness in the park.

7 News Gold Coast's story on the coaster from last night

It's a campaign about using your imagination, the ride can be whatever you want it to be, plus it saves Dreamworld from having to create a cohesive theme for the ride

There are also a whole bunch of stand alone videos available on Dreamworlds YouTube page, some are pretty good others are just cheesy.

Mayor Tom Tate has released his wish list for the new master-planned city, which includes a large pocket of land set aside for potential "Orlando Style" theme parks.

Well it is the only ride on the Gold Coast with VR, so doesn't that already qualify as the best ride with VR? ?

I highly doubt they would invest a lot of money into relocating the cars. Unless they plan to just run the track through the rapids course.

You think on a day like today they would have protested against the polar bears being kept at Sea World.

I noticed that it was one of the most complained about aspects of the park on Facebook, so it's good to see Dreamworld listening and implementing changes.

I thought this site was common knowledge for a long time on Parkz? I have have constant suggested ads for the website on my Facebook feed for months now. It is a great site though!

I'd go just to have a look, but wouldn't buy anything - why pay full RRP for sets that you can get cheaper at your local shopping centre? I understand if its an exclusive that can only be bought from Lego stores directly but other than that i'd not be interested. I just went down to my local Big W yesterday and they had 2 Deathstars available for $598 each so why drive to Dreamworld to pay $800??

Which Death Star is it? 75159 or 10188?

Haha I was just too slow

They are likely to keep it open until after NSW schools go back though, and with the Australia Day Public Holiday they would probably want it open for that as well.

Agree, LED strip lighting often looks tacky, especially when it isn't recessed or properly diffused. If they keep it on a single solid colour (yellow or red) it would probably look better.

Well I guess it is possible to reduce something down to zero ? But to be fair the stations are still themed and Aragog is still hanging out in the wild mouse section ?

Found this response on Facebook regarding a visitors question about the current state of he ride: "There are plans for thematic enhancements to be made at Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster. We started the enhancements to the attraction during the maintenance period, however we want guests to be able to experience the attraction over the school holiday period so it is currently open with reduced theming to the dark part of the ride."
