The company that posted this audition ad was the company that actually created AVPX, so he MIGHT be correct. -

Isn't that how most Chinatowns started in the first place? -

a Gas Explosion.... A jet of lit gas at a safe distance from the boat, but close enough so the riders feel the heat. Or two smaller jets shooting across the trench in front of the boat, before it leaves the dark part and gets to the lift hill. Sounds like the dark section might be a bit like Superman... Is there similar space? -

Might just be casting the "trainer guy", in the "pre-ride" section. Or could be a few zombie wanderers in the Arena. If you get hit, might lose points... But yes, Id guess they are getting rid of the Laser aspect. Even though there's a chance it might be for the "trainer", pre-game buildup video or "Arena Zombies".... Sea World Wild: What Could It Be?
colliric_855 replied to the12thworld's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yes.... Because obviously any followup Park that came from it would take a further 5 or 6 years to be developed, negotiated and constructed anyway(even a return to their Safari Park plan). I guess some people would call that "permenant" but I say Temporary, but in place for a long period of time. By temporary I ment not the long term 5-10 year goal is all. When you think about, it's pretty clear they didn't just scrap the idea of a Safari Park OR Safari Attraction(which this obviously is), and now having those Animals(+a few years experience running "Wild" behind them) could help them push for a full Safari Park again in 3 years or so. But now we're talking too far ahead into the future. -
Sea World Wild: What Could It Be?

African Safari World still on the cards??? perhaps a temp home at SeaWorld after all, and long term home elsewhere(In Victoria??) Not like that hasn't happened before, even in this state (Crown Casino, Opened Temp in 1994, real opening 1997). I think it's too early to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a temp exhibit. Certainly should be reproposed at some stage to the now Liberal Vic government. Instead of asking for the keys to Werribee Zoo and a $100 million bucks as well, perhaps they might come back with instead expanding the Zoo and putting cash into it on their own .. MIGHT. -
Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013

The educational aspect has been obvious from the beginning. It will include information about the regional cyclonic activity. The story is a shipping vessel has been caught out at sea in a storm, and you are the coast guard rescue team... That is all. It's NOT about animals.... So get over it. It is STILL EDUCATIONAL. It will include information about cyclones and storms and the dangers of getting caught unprepared. -

This was the original Atari's Software Division, from before Jack Tramiel's time. Just think this needs to be pointed out. This isn't the same Atari Corporation that made the 2600. It was the Software division, which spun off into it's own company(Atari Software, later Atari Inc and then Infogames, before they realised the Jack Tramiel Atari had died and they had the legal rights to the trademark) very early in the 1980s.

Can you reopen/reclose the lockers now? last time I was there(Jan 2012) I don't recall the 2 hour ones being able to reclose. If you locked it and then found you still had your wallet or drink bottle in your pocket, you had to re-hire the locker for another $2. Can you do it on the all day ones?

Unless it was certainly the same bloke that was on youtube pulling some longterm stunt(yes, possible) OR doing what I usually do(spreading wild rumours), then it seems unlikely. This is the second time it's been mentioned. I think it's more likely they've just decided to "continue developing it"(as in either "say they are" OR "really develop it") so the local government(or whichever government oversees the planning permits and regulations for this place) gets the impression it's on their mind and leaves them alone(Not like that hasn't happened before) long enough till they can figure out what to actually do with it OR until they have the cash to "do it proper" and get a proper firm to finish it off. Outside chance it's really being worked on, highly likely it's a delay ploy to keep the locals off their back(till they can really work on it, or get rid of it), or it could be a prank. I agree with Jobe, I think they should get a proper coaster manufacturer to rework it and I think it should use Kumbak trains(which obviously would mean Kumbak as the manufacturer they should work with). Not fully redo the track(would require another lengthy build period), but go over it(fixing any issues) and make sure this doesn't turn into a construction disaster like the Southern Star Wheel was. Perhaps Kumbak working on Sea Viper and Arkham has given Scenic World some ideas? A third project in Australia? Meh, I get that feeling every time I ride the ole LPM Scenic Railway... and that has killed one or two people(in the 1980s). So Orphan Rocker would not be alone in that regard.
-
Oh ok. So that IS actually the purpose of it? Not the scenery aspect? No wonder it's taken ages for it to get off the ground then....
-
The point is it is mostly about the scenery, not the "thrill factor".
-
Yes, due to the previous users comment.
-
Yeah but it isn't exactly suppose to be a thrill-ride. More like a more "breathtaking" experience. Like this: only on a rollercoaster instead.
-
You know it's quite possible this is simply the next impermanent replacement for Dino Island, and not a permanent thing. Might only be there till they can find other homes for all these animals.
