Degraded themeing on Wild West Falls
I'm not a movie expert either, and I know that stuff. I mean Pirates of the Caribbean is one of Disney's most famous dark rides and is what the whole series is based off, at what point did you think Village now own it? It's a breathtakingly stupid thing to say, I did you a massive favour by skipping over it fairly quickly and changing the subject. It's like saying they should replace Bugs Bunny with Mickey Mouse and then saying 'Oh well I'm no animation expert!' If you live on Earth you'd just know this stuff. Do you live on Earth?

Fix the population drop the rest doesn't matter lol Yeah that's how it was just after it reopened, rather shocked to hear that nothing has changed in all that time. Does no one at Movie World care?

Degraded themeing on Wild West Falls
There isn't a snow flakes chance in hell that WWF will get a Pirates of the Caribbean makeover. I'm actually stunned that you think Village 'own' that movie and the rights to it just because Disney filmed bits of it at the studios. Even if they did, why spend millions to retheme an entire ride rather than spending a few hours of labour to fix what is really a bunch of small things? Haven't been on the ride for a while, what's broken?

Movie World / Village Roadshow fence toppers
Village Roadshow Ride would indeed be awful, on the other hand other fairly generic stuff like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit or Hollywood Dream from Universal fit in well enough. Hell even Hollywood Stunt Driver the Ride would be better than some of the rumors that have been doing the rounds.

Movie World / Village Roadshow fence toppers
There have been a bunch of rumours floating around as to what it's going to be and pretty much all the suggestions have been awful. For a ride that would have so obviously been perfect to be themed to one of the top tier hero's they've managed to get themselves into a rather strange place creatively with a massive magenta coaster. It's almost at the point where they're better off too announce the coaster and have a competition to see if the public can figure out what to do. Maybe no one will scream sexism if a female member of the public calls it Wonder Woman. As for the logos, yeah the park logos are good, the parent company corporate logo can piss right off. I hate to break it to you Village Roadshow, but you're not a lifestyle brand, give up trying to put your logo on things. Movie World is a stronger brand, and that's what'll make people excited when they come to the park. No one cares about the logo of the parent company.

I think before it opens they are likely to install another piece or two. I'd expect that to be all though.

Is the "hyper" branding really important?
If anyone was wondering what the correct answer to these questions are, I have them answered below: * If it's full circuit taller than 200feet OR has a drop taller than 200feet it's a hyper. Anything less than that isn't a hyper * No it doesn't matter. The general public wouldn't know that the word 'Hyper coaster' has any sort of special meaning relating to height, and there are generic marketing words that would work equally well if used as a prefix to the word coaster. (Mammoth, Mega & Jumbo all spring instantly to mind). Be sure to tune in next week where the questions will be "Is Sea World technically a theme park since it doesn't really have themed areas?" and a return of last weeks fan favorite question: "What colour is Movie World's new coaster?"

Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World
Pity there wasn't enough space for the words "*Extra Charges Apply" On the other hand I like that it's an ad for the park or something tangible in it rather than an ad for the latest ticket or the latest buzzword, which I believe this year is 'Magic'

Clark Kirby appointed Village Roadshow Theme Parks CEO, Tim Fisher to head VRTP International
But what colour is the coaster? It'll be interesting to see how this goes, and what the reality of it means. You wouldn't expect him to be the most hands on with other corporate responsibilities but it also brings Village Roadshow cooperate closer to the parks. I'll go with 'cautious optimism' here.

The largest roller coaster ever built in Australia will crown Movie World the Southern Hemisphere's thrill capital
By Australian standards it is. By international standards it's one of the better SLC's with a pretty amazing VR upcharge. Yeah in this context a SLC is 100% quality.

@djrappa I don't have the strength to hold a knife after reading 6 pages of it. Also there's a post about 5 pages back that I agree is one of the worst posts, on any website, on any subject in the history of the internet.

Movie World Hypercoaster - colour, theme and announcement speculation
Have just caught up on the last 6 pages of this thread. My god I'm desperate for an announcement now. Actually just on that where is the early marketing? If you buy a VIP pass now you get to ride it. So where's the non stop blitz to get the word out. This will be the best roller coaster in Australia, and it's the biggest single investement in Gold Coast theme park history. It needs the biggest marketing campaign since Bermuda to ensure it's a success. I know it's early but this ride is THAT big of a deal. Better be a documentary team down there to do an hour special on it.

@YLFATEEKS I was really hoping the arrival of the track would put an end to that debate.- Movie World - union's "rowdy protest"
The irony is that there is plenty of stuff that Village Roadshow do that is worthy of a protest. Replacing staff with School based trainees, the creation of 'ppt 30' (which is basically casual employment without casual loading), offering pay increases which are the same as CPI but having the negotiation stretch out long enough past the end of an agreement that there is months where CPI isn't being met, and having an agreement that disadvantages new staff but is advantageous to current staff to reduce future wage bills. All this stuff and what the union chooses to do is go after penalty rates decades after they've been negotiated away decades ago, and in a culture where penalty rates are dying out. The theme parks aren't a heavily unionised workplace, it's maybe 10 or 20% of workers are members. The result is you get a low quality union with no teeth, and the people who run it are the sort of people who would be sacked for dangerous working practices themselves if it wasn't for union involvement. For what it's worth the Sea World Resort do pay penalty rates because their union didn't negotiate those conditions away years ago. TLDR: Village aren't perfect employers by any stretch but the Union is basically the worst.- Coaster Track At MovieWorld (HOAX)
