  1. I mean what do you even say to that? If that's current it's beyond appauling.
  2. DCA removed Maliboomer and Superstar Limo as part of improving the park. Just throwing it out there
  3. The timing is odd. Instead of telling people why they should be coming now the news is filled with mentions of last year's events in exchange for telling people about what's coming next year. I'm all for building hype but it's almost at the expense of this year. Even with the missteps surrounding not being able tl have the Wipeout, Log Ride, Trolls meet'n greet and Kiddie Ferris wheel open, they still have ways to market themselves. They could really market that WWW & DW are the same massive park now, they could be marketing that the DW pass is cheaper and bettee value than Village. But instead it's 'Oh wait till you see what we're doing next year!' 'Tickets not on sale now!'
  4. Very much fits the direction of the park 👍🏻
  5. That list confirms it, all the major parks do have 'World' in their name
  6. Meh it's during the Christmas holidays so close enough.
  7. Well you either want people in water that's dangerously cold you or you want people splashing about in the tiny pool outside. What do you want me to say?
  8. You want to put people in the water in the penguin area? That's perhaps the dumbest thing on the internet at the moment. Also you do know they're not on the side which has the Sharks right?
  9. I'm sure this isn't the case, but they do seem a little bit like the Uni student who tries to do all their assignments at the last min, and fails.
  10. Again, it's kart before the horse type stuff. You're looking at how to get tech you've just discovered into rides. I don't want to see rides installed based on what effects you can install on them. You can use any effects on anything, you can project cracks appearing on the Subway walls on Superman, you can project ghosts on the wall at Scooby, you can project dynamite fuses on the lift hill at Wild West. The trick is to use the technology to help your story, not design something so you can use technology. That sort of backwards thinking is why movies in the early 2000s were generally awful, it was technology first story second.
  11. I think seeing a cool piece of tech and thinking 'Ooh thats cool we need to do that!' is kind of arse backwards. There are so many things you can do the thought process should be 'what story or sense of place are we trying to create and what is the best tech to bring that to life'. So when talking about how to fix Scooby, just saying 'projections' isn't really an idea. It's a great tool that can be used for sure, but in itself it's not an idea. It's a bit like answering the question 'What renovations are you doing to your house?' with the word 'Hammers!'
  12. Utterly mystifying addition if true. The only reason I can invent for them adding it is to allow them to paint the picture that 'The future is bright and we're still investing in the park for the future'. On the other hand though getting the families with small kids through the door seems to be what they're banking on for their recovery, and any thrill ride they added would just be OBLITERATED this year anyway.
  13. See normally I'd be waiting for AlexB to respond with a sarcastic post about him not knowing what you're talking about given its actually called Ride Express now, but since he got it wrong I don't know what to expect.
  14. Junior Driving School could go anywhere, it could go in Superman's heilex, it could replace Taz Speedy Sam Train and Tweety's in one swoop. Maintenance storage could go anywhere. The objection is the waste of a show building which cost millions to build and isn't something Village have shown a willingness to build for a long time. I don't mind the ride, it's fine as is for now, but if MW were my park it wouldn't survive the next kids area overhaul as it stands.
  15. Flat Ride in a shed. Calling it early. Wouldn't even be mad.
  16. I'm going to make a rule that you 2 aren't allowed to respond to each other. It just clogs the forums up with crap.
  17. So is the point now that there's a queue at the station to insure those who get there first actually get on? Good fix until the ride gets fixed and 2 trains return to being the norm.
  18. Yeah that really sucks, but clearly whatever they are doing is a big job, and they clearly want it open, it's not invented downtime to save money. It really needs to be open on Boxing Day though
  19. Well I think the theory that Chinese people wouldn't eat Chinese food in Australia is pretty dumb tbh. I mean obviously they aren't going to travel here for it but while they're here absolutely they would. FWIW though I was thinking about Asian food for locals. Go to the average shopping center food court and tell me there isn't demand for Asian food.
  20. Have you been to Alton Towers? Stop keeping that a secret! I think the problem with saying 'they need different food options' is it's dictated by the market. People will buy what they want to buy, and parks will offer that. The only option I think worth genuinely exploring which is conspicuous by it's absense is a good quality brekfast at SW Top Terrace (could even open that area up earlier) and another bar or 2 with different things to snack on. Otherwise it's improving what's already there (better sandwiches, sushi more ice cream flavours) and maybe some other types of food (Asian for example).
  21. What I don't understand with the above is why you need to put your wallet and keys anywhere? Just leave them in your pocket you weirdo. I wonder if there's a way of re-jigging that area to stop people abusing the lockers?
  22. We've been calling for it for a long time, I'm delighted with the changes. It will price out the people who don't spend money anyway so the parks won't be so busy, and for those that do pay they get a better park. Double thumbs up from me, lets see how this goes!
  23. Just on DCR, does it ever break down? I'm in the area a bit and I always see it going? Aside from a few minor things during the soft opening I haven't heard anything either
  24. The thing is animal rights people would say 'No difference between racing and breeding animals that are to be kept in prisons and abused soely for entertainment' The reality is that the closer you get to theme parks or zoos the more you realise that everyone is in it because they love animals. The closer you get to racing the more you realise that people are in horse racing because people love horses. Go down to the track at 5am and find me one person who dislikes horses. Horse racing is a bigger industry so there may well be a few dodgey trainers, but I would not trust animal rights people to tell me about the racing indsustry and anyone who does is a fool. Incidentally this facebook page is well worth a like and a share: https://www.facebook.com/Animal-Rights-Extremism-Exposed-1167326766639533/
