  1. Didn't we establish that QGov only take up facilities that aren't needed?
  2. While I'm on the topic that website has some interesting stuff, including a typo. "The Actventure Waterpark caters for up to 1,250 visitors per hour on rides on rides and has capacity for over 2,000 patrons at any one time" The imagined site plans has waterfront villas... Except the site isn't waterfront... They also have their plans listed out, specifically mentioning Wet n Wild and that the Earthworks approval is "currently" being amended.
  3. Yeah I get that, but honestly, every time I drive past, it looks presentable. Either SCCC is very diligent with it, or they have a regular schedule with the mowing because they are looking for investors/people to purchase the resort units timeshare style and surprisingly even lot presentation matters when doing that. Side note, this has been going on for so long, has this website been linked? https://www.invigorateresort.com.au/ Specifically, Investment Sunshine Coast | Expressions of Interest | Invigorate Resort if you want to invest.
  4. Yeah look, that show room / office scarily looked like it was trying to attract investors for the resort. Unfortunately I won't be able to go in any time soon, I'm usually up there with my family to see my parents and in-laws and/or my sister. At least the lot is being kept in good condition?
  5. Site update, grass is freshly mowed, there is what looks to me to be new signage up and there is a single excavator on site. Cyclone fence hoarding is still there and there now appears to be some form of show room or office for the hotel part of the plans.
  6. Can someone clear this up for me? the $3m was a grant right? doesn't need to be paid back? Village $70mill was a loan? and DW $67million was a loan also? (numbers rounded) Is that right? I also have no opinion on this, I just pay my taxes, use services available to me and like theme parks.
  7. Benefits of an annual pass, I don't really care about reliability, I just visit when I want, how long I want.
  8. Dreamworld used to have a "Big Nine". The Claw Tower of Terror The Giant Drop Pandamonium Cyclone/Hot Wheels/Gold Coaster Motocoaster Buzz Saw Wipeout Tail Spin Now.. The Claw The Giant Drop Pandamonium Gold Coaster Motocoaster Tail Spin Steel Taipan For me to buy DW passes for my family, I would want 1 more "Big" ride, ideally a Coaster since the list is missing Buzz Saw and the intense speed/thrill from ToT. The loss of TRRR and RH also plays a part but for my family I can look past it, for now.
  9. I mean, I have seen comments from people saying that they have to get passes now because they love Wizard of Oz so much. So its not too far off the mark, but also double edge here because Wizard of Oz is so loved, if they half arse (or even village standard) the theme, its going to disappoint a lot of people and be pretty negative in general, and they can't rely on an Australian First / Only to cover those losses.
  10. So in theory you could build over it like a boardwalk? Could they dig it out to make it into a lake? I dunno why but you know. Spending money for fun.
  11. Road Runner is more likely to move and join the new coasters before its demolished.
  12. So impossible but would love a 4d robocoaster that's fully integrated with screens/projections with multiple versions to allow for extreme vs moderate thrills and can also operate seasonal versions. Impossible but would be cool.
  13. Man, the wild scenes if they open with turnstiles. Parkz will need to close for a few days to allow the internet traffic to calm down.
  14. My thoughts too, but at least they have an IP that hopefully will force a level of standard and not allow them to half arse it.
  15. I mean, they once told me Churros are healthy so I'm on the fence here.
  16. If the project reported in this article is still active, Wizard of Oz will be very relevant "soon"TM 'Wonderful Wizard of Oz' Remake in the Works at New Line - Variety
  17. That ones easy. If you make it heavy enough it will sink faster and hit bedrock quicker, stopping the sinking.
  18. Is there a source to said rumour? Or is it more speculation?
  19. There is also the highly likely chance its a combination of both, the darker sequence (I've been in one where it was super dark, and next ride, all lighter were on) and some lights weren't working which may happen to be the lights normally operating in the 'dark sequence'. Or you know, shits broke yo.
  20. Ignoring the fact it isn't open yet, Isn't Leviathan supposed to have a bunch of Air Time? or am I being wishful?
  21. When this ride had its first accident the fault was with the manufacturer I believe. The bolts used were not strong enough and fractured.
  22. Cool, glad you think that. But, standards as to whats "Safe" aren't standard globally, so height limits do change. Not just in Australia, but globally.
