Leviathan sometimes opens up a bit after park opening depending on how morning checks go but has been a lot more reliable as of late. It might’ve just had some issues this morning but it’s definitely up and operating now.

didn’t know where else to post this but the Tunnel for TNT is now filled with smoke, is this new or can i just not remember this being the case? source: Gumbuya World Instagram Story

+ Dreamworld Flyer and the splash pad. I don’t really think it is necessarily a bad thing though. They really are transforming the park while fixing past managements poor decisions. Sure it’s a lesser ride count but atleast it will now be quality over quantity, and they’ve already stated they have more plans for the next 5 years or so. It’s really nice seeing our parks get so much care and investment as of lately.

The second half of the years maintenance schedule has been uploaded. It looks like Vortex is having a much bigger maintenance period this year, hopefully it’s to fix all the issues it has been having. Also, Leviathans short maintenance period from the 6-18th of March has been removed and the ride has no stated planned maintenance for this year.

the map for this weekends event shows Tailspin and Showcase, so it is a possibility they could extended the footprint and allow these rides to also operate at the markets. If they wanted to have some rides operating (Dreamworld Flyer + Claw, Shockwave and Tailspin) they could have it as a seperate entry option where you get a wristband to get you on the rides or they could have a pay per ride system. i think it would be a great idea and the kinetic energy would be great.

Wet n Wild SurfRider taken off website
Rivals replied to Natti_amusements's topic in Theme Park Discussion
ground word appears to have now started on the relocation of SurfRider. This will most likely be the only look we’ll get of the area until SE opens back up from maintenance sadly source: sarahfromcs- 406 replies

you haven’t been able to do your seatbelt since atleast 2021 and if you do it anyways they make your restraint come back up so they can do it themselves.

“Dreamworld’s being cheap” while investing $60m+ into the park over the next 2 years, with $35m of that going to one ride? make it make sense. People don’t go to Dreamworld for IP’s, that’s MovieWorld’s draw card. It seems like your only motive here is to bash Dreamworld, they do something positive and you twist it into negatives. you should find something better to do. nevermind, simulator. Dark Ride was the first thing that came to my mind.- 329 replies

I don’t know if that’s what happened or not but that’s just what i was assuming, just like other people in here assuming Dreamworld dropped Dreamworks and used it as a negative towards the park. from what i’ve heard the ride was already planned and a cancelled project allowed ST to be produced earlier but who really knows. it’s better then being an adult complaining about nothing all day🤷♀️- 329 replies

you can’t change what happened however, they were fixing past managements mistakes as fast as they could and they now have a strong pipeline for new attractions, so what’s the point of complaining that they had no pipeline when now they do.- 329 replies

has everything to do with old management not new. the Dreamworks brand was only a licence for 10 years, if it’s bringing in no new crowds and there is better use for that money to uphold the licence then why waste the money. Sky Voyager. the ride was always destined for Dreamworld, they got lucky as a project got cancelled at an overseas park so it opened up a slot for Dreamworlds coaster could to be manufactured earlier then expected.- 329 replies

everything they’ve done makes sense. Wipeout was a rare model and a maintenance nightmare. Tower of Terror was down more then it wasn’t and reached the end of its life span (would’ve been to costly to refurb at the time.) Big Red Car was a dated and very old dark ride that’s about to be replaced with a $35m vekoma roller coaster with modern dark ride elements. Buzzsaw was a maintenance nightmare with little ridership. Steam Trains needed specific training to operate and was costly to maintain. Log Ride should’ve been refurbished and revamped instead of removed so i will agree. Dreamworks theme is gone but the area is still around so it’s not exactly a giant loss. Tiger Island Interaction is still around. I find it funny you’re criticising them for removing rides but when they built two new rides (arguably best dark ride in Australia + unique to the country and Australia’s only triple launch coaster + one of our only looping coasters) you then again have another issue with that. With all the investment currently happening + more plans down the pipeline it does have a bright future you can’t deny that. Tailwhip is operating from last thing i heard + it isn’t out of the blue for Vortex to randomly be closed for a day or two for technical issues, it should be up by the time they come to the GC.- 329 replies

“no need to speak” for me but what he said is exactly what i mean lol. i don’t know them so just because i feel bad that more rides are close then they expected doesn’t mean i’m taking it on personally. i think what i meant was pretty clear especially as other people understood it clearly.- 329 replies

i do agree i just couldn’t help but feel bad as they aren’t seeing the full potential, always they came expecting Scooby to be opened and seemed very excited about it… hopefully they do return in like 2025 when the new investment is all completed.- 329 replies

I really do feel bad that they’ve came all this way at a time where our parks are undergoing so much investment and construction meaning so much is down for its maintenance period right now. I hope they still have a great time here regardless- 329 replies

I really don’t see a park over here investing in a ride as costly as a B&M flyer, however, a Vekoma flyer is something i could see happening. This attraction could be a 2026 addition, with it being placed in the old RHLR section of the park and even have some interaction with the river (such as diving close to the water.) You could also place a couple flats in the middle of the ride and have the ride be an anchor attraction for its own themed area (not sure on the theme, but something that loosely ties into Australian Wildlife as it is right next to the wildlife section.) Then in 2029, the park should invest in either a GCI or RMC wooden coaster. Both rides would consist of very airtime heavy layouts as ST, GC and the flyer would all have inversions, with the RMC having a max of 1 inversion. I would love to see the Hybrid place in the old Lazy River location, spreading out the parks coasters to have complete flow through the park. The parks coasters would now include: GCI / RMC wooden coaster Steel Taipan Vekoma Flyer Jungle Rush Kenny’s Flyer (new vekoma SFC trains for 2025/2026) Gold Coaster Motocoaster (upgraded trains and retheme for 2025 to fit into Rivertown) Big Red Boat

I will say taking backpacks and phones on a ride is stupid, taking mine on Scooby stresses me enough, i can’t imagine talking it on a ride like Superman💀 as long as it protects me from a phone flying and hitting my face at 100km/hr im fine with the loose article policies here.- 329 replies

I know that Tailwhips price actually is to help maintain the spinning seat itself and it’s components (such as having to plug in and charge the seat at night ) - this can be seen with Enso at BPPB charging the same price when converted. However, i doubt turning a seat around really costs that much to maintain especially when DCR originally opened with $10 backwards seats. -
correct me if i’m wrong, but prior to it being updated to 2025 did the list of ride improvements include “vertical lift components replaced with modern designs?” I wonder if upon closer inspection they realised the vertical lift also needs replacing, and due to the late notice they’ve had to push the date back due to Mack having to try and fit that in their schedule. It’s a pretty big structure so i really wouldn’t be shocked especially with all the projects Mack has on their hands.

Disney ≠ Aus parks American safety standards ≠ Australian safety standards stop comparing the two, we really shouldn’t be looking at America on how to run things. Also, down the road from Disney you go through metal detectors to ensure nothing is on you, so clearly it’s just a Disney thing.- 329 replies
