are Huss Topspin’s normally as unreliable as Vortex? It seems like besides Batwing, Village make really poor decisions when choosing flat rides… Doomsday is down more then it’s not, Vortex seems to have an issue every second day, Trident can’t even operate in high winds even though it’s right next to a beach while also having horrendous operations… it’s a shame -

Scooby was announced as closing for refurb 3 days prior to its closure. I will say it sucks they won’t be seeing our parks at their potential, MW will have Batwing, Superman, Doomsday and Scooby down (who even knows what GL will decide to do), DW will have half the kids area closed off for refurb + GD and SS, SW will probably have Trident and Vortex down for technical issues. It’s a shame. Hopefully they return after 2024, once the half pipe, WoO, Dreamland, Dreamworld Flyer, Rivertown and Ocean Parade expansion are all opened up.- 329 replies

I honestly think the only reason they went with SBF for Trident is SBF offering Village Trident at a discounted cost when they purchased Cosmic Boom, and as it was a cheaper option they decided to opt out of the 60m Funtime star flyer to save some money. If operations continue being this bad while the ride is always down for wind or technical issues, i don’t think the ride has a very bright future at the park. -

Dreamworld - Kenny & Belinda's Dreamland Updates
Rivals replied to Ogre's topic in Theme Park Discussion
EFMG until it’s transitioned until KFF, it’s only escape coaster right now as licensing has run out, and legally it can not be ran under that name so until the retheme it is what it is. If it was a pernament name for more then a couple months that would be an issue. -

why would they rename the rides to their permanent names when the work into the retheme hasn’t actually been done yet? puss n boots / gingy’s aren’t staying or one of them are and the other isn’t, so what’s the point of giving them permanent names? they’re only there as they don’t need to be removed yet and they’re doing the area in stages to minimise ride closures, it really isn’t that confusing of a concept tbh -
I‘m so happy they’re putting so much love into this ride and i wonder if the final drop will be replaced with anything (drop track????) most likely not but one can wish. It seems like they’re already started some work, the projections were off as well as the TV’s in the elevator being taken out (as of the Sunday just passed.) 2024 will be a huge year for our parks and i can’t wait to experience it

Wet n Wild SurfRider taken off website
Rivals replied to Natti_amusements's topic in Theme Park Discussion
no one said that’s what it means, we said that’s the reason Dreamworld said it closed, but it was almost certainly due to low ridership and high maintenance costs that didn’t match the demand the ride was getting. Most companies have BS marketing, such as “the world first multi-type coaster” or “the worlds most iconic wooden roller coaster / the worlds greatest family roller coaster.” it’s not a Dreamworld exclusive thing- 406 replies

first unscheduled maintenance periods of the year, let’s hope the rides are back up and running soon with the amount of enthusiasts visiting in the next couple of weeks.
-
Rivals has the same maintenance period (if not around the same time) every year, you should’ve waited until maintenance period schedules were posted prior to booking a trip that far in advanced.

they both know about the maintenance schedules and CS are already aware that they will not be getting on Superman or Giant Drop. -

only CS will be missing Superman, the ECC tour starts next week, TPW is starting next week too and they’ll be at MW by the start of February, so they’ll be fine. -
im unsure as i saw it on facebook, under this post but considering the post is only from 3 days ago im going to assume it is pretty recent.
-
the park has already quietly confirmed the monorails decommission (via facebook.) i can’t remember if it’s been completely confirmed, but from my knowledge the Dreamworld Flyer is meant to be opening June/July holidays, and the Dreamland area along with the Ocean Parade expansion are meant to be completed by the end of the year around summer holidays.

The forces, elements and thrill you get from the ride is why i labelled it as a family thrill, it’s a pretty slow, force less and just enjoyable ride. i left it out on purpose, i thought it would be clear it would be at the top considering the ride it is so i couldn’t be bothered to include it. Superman is definitely more thrilling then GL, just because a ride has inversions doesn’t mean it’s more thrilling. The launch on SE alone is more forceful the anything in the rest of the park, the rides forces and airtime are very strong, the pre show is very fear inducing (for first time riders) and helps build up fear, its definitely way more of a thrill, i know my GP friends think it is way more scarier then Rivals.

GL is also very good at being a family thrill coaster (even if the height restrictions says otherwise.) Without it, the line up would go RRRC - Scooby - Superman. GL creates a good middle ground and will create a great step up from the new coasters, as they will end up making the line up go RRRC - boomerang - Scooby - SFC - GL - Superman. I think GL is here to stay, DD has more chance of going imo. If it was to be removed, i would love to see a Raptor, S&S axis (great eye catcher for the front of the park alongside DCR), Intamin Eurofighter style coaster (like fahrenheit at Hershey) or a Sky Rocket II be added in its spot, they have very little rides and very little room to be removing a coaster and replacing it with trees.

according to some pretty reliable sources, a joker / arkham themed raptor were the initial plans for AA’s plot of land, however it was changed over to WoO. I think removing a big ride and replacing it with trees in a park with an already small ride line up really isn’t the best decision, something would need to replace the ride.

They’ve already looked at adding a raptor, so it really wouldn’t be that unrealistic.

it opened at opening so i’m guessing maybe they were just doing some testing and inspection on that break zone to make sure the issue was resolved

What is Christmas Eve crowds like for theme parks?
Rivals replied to REGIE's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I’ve never thought about it as i’ve never seen one but can anyone confirm where the transfer track for Scooby actually is? im very curious now as it must be very well hidden. -
2023 seems to be a big year for our parks and it’ll be the first entire year with no covid restrictions affecting operations, attendance, tourists, ect (fingers crossed), so i’d definitely expect it to get slammed. I definetly agree with us seeing an outcome for Surf Rider, i could see it being sent to Seaworld or maybe they’ve given up with DD and will be sending it there as a replacement (i doubt it.) WNW will also hopefully continue slide refurbs and repaints, I could see Tornado and Aqua Loop both being done within this year, i hope they also remove Flowrider, it’s never operating and just looks ugly off to the side. But apart from that the plans for this year (that we know of) have all been revealed, so it will already be a big year for our parks and i can’t wait to see new rides, events, and crowds.

see i never noticed any rough spots or uncomfortableness, i found it to be shaky (like you’d expect when thinking of a wooden coaster) but in a fun way
