The movie looks ok. I don't really see it transitioning to a maze well though.. in what way do you envisage this to work?

a meal without a drink isn't a meal, it's just food. I work 10mins from Movieworld. I should just buy this and go there for Lunch everyday! Would save me a fortune!

It's a possibility, but my thoughts are it will be a bigger horror brand, something more iconic than The Conjuring.

Well I'm clearly in the minority.. I barely have enough time to post on here lately, let alone run a theme park page of any level of quality. Id hate to do a half-assed job and it reflect not only poorly on myself, but potentially poorly on our theme parks if the quality of content wasn't good enough and someone was basing their opinions of them on my page.

Most of the larger stages have fixed scenery/layouts - ie, pools, tanks, preset rigging. A lot re-used regularly for tv work etc 1 & 2 (and the new one) are literally re-set to shells after each production, allowing greater scope for building without demolishing generic sets that are used regularly. Thats my understand of it anyway...

Thor will be making use of 1 & 2 and the new sound stage that just opened (was it SS 8 or 9 - can't remember). Thor will be the first production in there

Thor 3 begins principal photography in July, which will probably last 3-4 months. That pretty much rules out the 2 main sound stages (1&2) that are usually utilised. I know last year there was time pressure to get the mazes ready due to production running over on POTC and the studios not being available as early as desired.

Yep. The (arguably) most themed ride in the park, and they are going to make you wear a headset and not see any of it ? Not a chance. GL for mine would be the fav, that way if you get stuck on it at least you can watch some cool graphics cycle while you're sitting there....

As I said, the rumours are unsubstantiated. If you know for certain there isn't, then great.

We've spoken at length about the difficulties in demolishing eureka mountain and rebuilding there. The area is a major thoroughfare that has no easy access externally, it also sits above an operational ride, and adjoins to the cinema. The entirety of Gold Rush would need to be closed for months, and that would just be for the demo. there are also the rumours, however unsubstantiated, of potential asbestos within the fibreglass mountain, which if proven to be correct would be even more troublesome. I don't think DW had initially planned to keep the ride SNBO for a decade, I just believe they soon found any other option to be too much trouble

Yep. reinvesting significant capital to refresh Eureka would likely not have a subsequent significant uplift in attendance or revenue. The fans Boys/girls and nostalgia-lovers will line up for a crack, realise they've massively over credited what the ride was in their minds whilst it's sat idle, and not bother again. Your average attendee will quickly realise it's a poor mans SDSC, and won't bother again.

Little strange... meanwhile TPSN has posted a pic of the DD arms back on the ground saying they are having a refit. I'm not even going to pretend to understand what he means by that.... "Oops we ordered the wrong size?"

Yeah I braved the pram infestation with my 3 year old (sans pram thankfully). He loves the wiggles. needless to say, not many kids on the GC went of school yesterday, nor did many adults with children.

So we have doomsday arms, with the seating structure clearly to be themed to his hands/claws. As with from the start, how they execute the theming will determine if this is seen as a decent attraction or a Carnival ride.

Would seem a strange location for any expansion, my guess would be a new maintenance area. Possibly allowing them to utilise to other half of the old LTRR building, or just an extra area altogether.
