Green Lantern incident at MW
I've been to MW 3 times in the past week, including yesterday, and nothing is happening in terms of testing, no crew on the site.

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
WB stores become obsolete many years ago, even then ones in high tourist areas (I.e Surfers Paradise) didn't survive. with a Event Cinemas opening with stage 1 of the Coomera town centre, they won't be putting a cinema complex in at Oxenford. The northern coast needs a multiplex, but not 2 within a 3 min drive of each other

Google great putt putt venues and you'll see. There are a few good ones in Sydney (well there were many years ago), nothing close to what you find in the US though

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
King Tutts is as fantastic as MDMC is thrilling. The one in time zone is all kinds of pathetic. I can honestly say all the putt putt options on the Gold Coast are fairly mediocre.

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
Agree westical, and with the existing noise restrictions that won't be softened, that effectively can't/won't happen. I honestly couldn't see a hotel being high on the priority list. I'm sure the cabins will work well with tourists, with no doubt some form of outback experience tied to both PC and OA. I also just had a look at the Oxenford town planning 'master plan'. It strictly states that there can be no fixed development within 100m of the road frontage (Entertainment Dr) or 85m from the other bordering roads. That may limit availability of land for development if they are, as a few have suggested, expanding towards the M1 with the entertainment precinct

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
To me a Lodge & cabins would be differing. Cabins are stand alone, a lodge would be a hotel/motel style accommodation. Granted i didnt go through all the documents in detail, but i actually didnt see 'Outback Spectacular Lodge' referenced, i must have skipped through that part. Project name was certainly Paradise Country Cabins for the info i was looking for, with all plans stamped with that name. Potentially 2 separate accommodations?

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
As Zanstabar has alluded. The OPW for Operation Works/Ground level clearing & carpark relates to 'Paradise Country Cabins' which incorporates a reception building, new carpark, 94 tourist cabins, and a camping ground facility. The landscaping OPW is also linked to this. Plans/drawings are publicly available on PD Online. Application is not approved at this stage.

Here's the link from 5 years ago regarding the expansion plans, that were not approved at the time by council http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/topic/5348-movieworld-expansion/

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
The easement would be storm water drainage underground, which usually limits development over within 3m of it - only know as I have an easement running through my property and am binded by that

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
Well that would be a worlds best attraction potentially. the long forgotten expansion was for a motor themed land with go karting tracks, ride and restaurants etc, something to drive park revenue outside regular operating hours. I think DW has got the jump on a motorsports themed land now though.

Push, the area you've mapped out would remove the coach parking, so unless they were going go rejigg the entire car park to move that it would be seem unlikely.

But you can see it... The dough bros, the sandwich shop, the ice cream parlour, the new globe/entrance, even ABC4Kids World. Theming wise and refresh wise they are blitzing their competition

That's an impossibility. If they don't change the queue, the ride will still improve by the addition of a new train. How could not changing the queue outweigh the new train to the point of the ride being worse?

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
Understood your example, was just being a smart ass. And understand why we're still looking at a SBNO a decade later. But whilst DW has had their share of poor management in the past, I'm sure value as opposed to cost was the deciding factor in closing it. If they believed they were gaining attendance by its operation, or would lose significant attendance by its closure, they would have sourced the required repairs or overhauled the ride system to keep it maintainable into the future.

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Well with 1 month to go until opening, there has been no work externally completed on either the ride or queue house/turbine room. Whilst that's not to say work hasn't taken place inside in the loading area, I have never heard any noise coming from that area, nor seen any movement (you can see fairly clearly up into the loading area from the path in WWW. I'm no longer expecting much of a revamp given the time constraints (and given there is still much work to do on the new food Outlet, the museum and the simulators), which is disappointing. I think we'll see no changes except the obvious train upgrade and a new logo.

Yeah good point. I know what I wouldn't do though, leave my sandwiched wreck sitting in my driveway for the next 10 years..

If it was THAT good, would it have ever closed?

Adventure World 2015 - 'Mi2' Kraken Tornado slide
given the water conservation initiatives being utilised by WWW currently, which at the time of its construction were world-leading, I think we can forgive a little bit of water wastage for the sake of guest experience.... More water would be wasted by the spraying Madagascar Characters & the water mist fans...

'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
Given it talks about changes to car parking, it's unlikely. Any Works relating to the roller coaster development would generally be included in the DA, not a seperate OPW. There is also no related applications attached or linked to it, a further indicator that it is likely unrelated
