??? I don't even see that as a feasible option. Replacing the ride would require so much site preparation that it would make it a unprofitable activity. Clearing the land and in-filling the channels alone would cost a fortune. Not to mention the ride snakes it way through goldrush which would make site works incredibly hard. It would be infinitely cheaper to re-fresh the ride with new theming, tyres and water systems. I think you could safely say that the land currently being utilised for the rapids would be amongst the least likely to be redeveloped in the case of them closing the rapids, which in itself is incredibly unlikely in the foreseeable future.

Gravity pushes u back down? Technically that is 'just falling' Intense is such loose term that every person would have a different description of, especially when it comes to rides. I wouldn't consider BW to be intense in the slightest. The launch of SE is intense, but the rest of the ride isn't. Arkham would probably be the most continually intense ride for mine, though I don't consider it to be the best coaster, nor my favourite. Wipeout can be quite intense when it's throwing u around on the spins.

TBH I've always found them all to be pretty decent compared to your standard public attraction amenities (ie cinemas, shopping centres, public transport stations). I think all the parks realise that in a competitive environment, something as small (or big depending on your perspective) as clean toilets can be the difference between a good & bad experience, and therefore a return purchase/annual pass purchase

Haven't disappeared just can't be bothered arguing with you when you won't look at if from a position of sense and logic. Woolies say 90% of their fruit n veg is Australia - anyone who works there will tell u that's not true. Same for KFCs claim to fresh chicken. Go to JB HiFi or Harvey Norman and ask for a discount on a $3000 plasma tv and you get nothing or a $100 off, a hot chick walks in and the salesman wants her number so she gets it for $2500. You buy a car on the 25th of the month for $20,000, and 5 days later at the end of the Month your neighbour gets the same car from the same dealership for $16,000 because they need to hit their monthly sales target by end of month. It's called sales. Enough people have been happy with the service and offering of the holiday club for it to be a viable and successful business for many many years. U may have had a bad experience, I'm not denying that, but that doesn't mean they are scammers, frauds and parasites. My Big Mac from Maccas was missing the pickle yesterday, the entire organisation is a scam! It even says pickle on the jingle!! Lies!! Get over it...

With qld private schools schools on holidays from tomorrow, I'm sure they will look to utilise a busy period, prior to the full school holidays as a soft opening. Thurs/fri of next week would be my estimate

I would have thought the counter weight on pandamonium would avoid the ability for it to get stuck upside down. Obviously not. I've had a failed launch on superman, after the click prior to launch, we eased forward about a metre and just sat there for about a minute before we launched, at what seemed much faster than the usual launch

Who's blaming the government? They would have drafted a script and VRTP would have just said sweet, you can refer to it as the best rollercoaster in the country if you want. U think the tourism office of any state/country in the world doesn't embellish the truth about what they are promoting?

Right... So I can't question why his friend is releasing info before LPS does - and I don't think I was rude to him regarding it. I've seen plenty of people questioned when they post something without a link/source or make a questionable post. But u can call me a dick? Haha... I think you'll find that is the 'Theme Park Capital' advertisement, which is for all QLD theme parks not just VRTP's. This is QLD tourism advertisement, not VRTP. So they are not claiming themselves to have the greatest rollercoater, the government has just added that in to hype up the ride/park/destination

I'm no ride tech but I would assume a max weight capacity limit or a restraint locking requirement would be an automated function that overrides operator control. I know that is a case of Scooby. There is red light on the operator terminal that turns off when all 4 riders have their lap bars sufficiently engaged and the total weight of the car is within allowable range. The operator cannot launch the car until the light goes off.

It's very hard to say. The lap bar literally swings over u from one side to the other as opposed to towards you from in front. This 'could' make it easier, but then again depending on your weight distribution when sitting could also hamper the ability for it to lock in the required amount. Keeping in mind some rides need to 'click' in more than one level, not just the first click, to be able to be launched I'd advise calling the park and seeing if their is a weight limit for the ride first & foremost, and if not or you are within that limit, maybe arrive at the park early so u are amongst the first few riders so if u cannot ride u won't be having to get off/ejected in front of a packed queue house, which by the way shouldn't be seen as embarrassing or mortifying. I've seen in happen before, commonly in Scooby, as their is a max total weight for the carriage, and as I mentioned earlier, a required number of 'click in' levels before the operator can launch the ride

Almost their entire portfolio is entertainment businesses! Theme parks are right up their alley, we (theme park enthusiasts) just don't agree with some of their strategic direction & operating procedures. The regular theme park attendee has no problem with DW, which is probably why they win tourism awards!! They serve the 90%, not the 10% who come on forums and nit pick every aspect of their operation - whether the nit picking is warranted or not.

If they are giving away Harvey Norman gift vouchers, which are being purchased regularly and over a consistent period of time, you probably would find they have some form of commercial agreement. I work in sales, and there are far dodgier companies and methods out there than this. Everyone knows what the holiday club is about. If u don't you work it out real quick and say no. It's really simple. U really have a bee in your bonnet over this, and while that's your prerogative, I'd certainly recommend u don't take something as little and unimportant in the grand scheme of things in life so personally and to heart.
