  1. Oh I thought the monorail track was all removed. Is the track still in good condition? Are there any plans on reopening the monorail or is it just there. I remember the trains were sold in auction a few months ago
  2. Good point. ST is their funnest and their headlining thrill ride but GD definitely strikes the fear in people more. I am glad the garden and boats have reopened. Dreamworld are really cleaning up their park it’s amazing the transformation. 3 years ago or less dreamworld was basically a meme. Now it’s a genuinely great theme park and worthy in my eyes to take the crown as my favourite Aussie park. Though MW have some better rides MW lack the overall package DW offers. Especially when WWW is open
  3. That layout looks very promising. I have never been out side Australia so having an alpine coaster here would be super cool. Perfect fit for big banana. what’s the lines that come out of that white tunnel and go through the layout of the alpine showing?
  4. That’s good to hear. I didn’t know SE had 2 trains. Maybe it Would be better if instead of having a thread named/based on the parks maintenance schedule we have a thread called “(insert park name here) ride operations and closures” so it’s not just stat the obvious like “hey the website says DC rivals in getting maintenance in April” but more about how the rides are operating and wait times, the stuff that’s not on the website, which is basically what’s happening now but in its own thread.
  5. I have been with GP friends who don’t seem to notice or think it sticks out that much. But yes a raptor would be great for that plot , though I would be sad to seen GL go. It’s unreliable as hell but I prefer it over SE. SE has come victim to bad head banging
  6. True they probably spent a big of money on that exterior too. I think it would be worth it during the off season though. I think it would be surprising how much better it would look with a old style facade
  7. Like what in particular? Have you managed to see it in person yet?
  8. Yes the only reason I said GL will go before DD is because of age. And true I was probably a built harsh on seaworld SE has opened late every time I visited the park this year and Rivals was down for unscheduled maintenance 6-10 times I went. Same with batwing. and I don’t understand what’s going on with WWF but maybe I just had bad luck and chose bad days to go.
  9. Yes I think that’s a great idea. Why do we need every park in Australia to be like DW/MW? Vekoma next gen would be great and a Gravity group woodie like this would be rad. This model gets good reviews and people say it’s amazing for what it is. It’s also cheap
  10. What a surprise…. Imo the next ride to go at movieworld will be GL its so unreliable it’s a joke at this point… MW really don’t have a ride you can almost always Guarantee will be open.. dreamworld have that in ST . seaworld have that in castaway bay (wait really seaworld??) .. movieworld have that in the fountain maybe??
  11. Hm yes true. The people who came for the scariest fastest tallest ride in Australia probably aren’t gonna go “I don’t care, a nocturnal garden is just as good”
  12. They are doing everything they can to try to get people not complain that there biggest ride is closed
  13. Yeah makes it more re-rideable for sure.
  14. Didn’t gumbuya buy like a huge amount of land ? I thought they had more land then dreamworld now
  15. I think the trident operators are still very much new to the ride and probably need a bit of time before they feel comfortable operating it in wind or in general. Plus they are only really cycling 1 person a minute at the most which is terrible
  16. That’s great. I really wish more rides on the Gold Coast had that. Storm, SE and GL could really use one.
  17. I would like if parks had a few more spots to eat in Australia however I never find my self eating much at theme parks. Not because it’s expensive but I just don’t feel like food at theme parks. To much adrenaline and eating cuts into ride time. Especially when you don’t live close to the parks. I am in between Sydney and Gold Coast
  18. This looks awesome!! I think the next thrill addition gumbuya might go for in the next 3-6 years would be a next gen vekoma like fonix or Lech
  19. Thank you, not sure why my brain just stopped. Probably from me calling it jet skis to much
  20. Yeah the whole point of single rider is if there is a gap you fill it. Asking people if they want some stranger sitting next to them is dumb. Of course 99% will say .no I don’t want that” don’t ask just do. also what’s “JR” I can’t think of it for some reason. My top 5 rn is #1 DCR, #2 ST #3 SE #4 GL #5 GC (I am yet to ride Levi but I think it would be easy 3 tier.). Gold coaster is only here because I love arrow and old rides in general. And I think SE would be higher but I only have ridden it a few times because the people I go to the parks with hate it for some reason and it’s line is always the longest on my trips. most of my friends list’s (they are as GP as it gets) have #1 Scooby, #2 ST, #3 DCR , #4 GL, #5 Jet rescue. They have not been on Levi yet either. And they think DD is the best flat ever for some reason…
  21. How do you rank it compared to Australia’s other coasters? What’s your top 5 or 10?
  22. Gets me excited for movie worlds one. I hope I can get to gumbuya soon! Where’s the best place to sit on PZ?
  23. I can’t wait for the wave spinner . did they add new control panels for the boats or was that existing infrastructure they got back up and running
  24. I really like the theming! I just love good original themes! IP’s do nothing for me but original ideas or just cool looking themes make me happy. I really wish movieworld at least bothered to have a 3D sign for DCR. For Australia’s “best” it’s only got its stats going for it. No theming/cool signage. We got a small clip running on a TV in a shed though.. btw how far away in gumbuya from LPM. The rides look awesome.
