Ahh… hmm. I may do that too. Whoops. Seriously though we won’t do it anymore. one thing I forgot to mention is there was a awesome light show on at park closing time in Main Street. It looks super cool.

Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point "Closing"

Finally some launch track on site! Odd how it’s got no spine. -
No. Not at all. We still waited the full amount but just not all of us at once.. People duck out to get water and come back. Saw a few people just take a seat out side the queue then come back in to their mates at the end. all the time it’s just that same thing.. our group still waited the full queue.. I probably just didn’t explain it well. the lines died down at 20 pm. GL was about 20 min and DCR 60 min. Dooms days opened at lunch time and was still only going half way up.
-
It was crazy busy. Went on DCR first. Then Walked over to superman but it broke down 20 min in the queue, and they told us to come back in an hour. So went back to DCR. So we wasted a lot of time there. DCR was 145 minute wait. 2 train operations. After that it was already 2 pm. (Got there 10:30). Had lunch, Went back to superman. It broke down again but we stuck it out. Got my front row ride which was incredible. By then it was 3:30. Went on GL after that then DCR, and finished on GL. Only just got there in time. So 6 rides all up. Wasted a lot of time but 6 rides isn’t bad for how busy it was. Could barely walk around the park without running into someone. Our strategy for the last 3 rides was, while some of us were in a queue. one person we were with didn’t want to ride. So they would wait in another rides queue. So as soon as we got off one ride. we would join the other person in the next queue. and they would duck out and do it again. Sorry my bad. I worded it wrong. Let me try again. Last time I went on SE. which was a year ago now. I didn’t like SE as much as I like green lantern for some reason. But now, on my latest ride. SE was running better and I got front row. So I think it’s way way better than GL now. Only under DCR because of length. So overall ratting is #1 DCR #2 is a Tie between SE, leviathan and ST. I still Gotta try all the backwards/spinning seats. I haven’t done any of them yet.

I got my first front row ride on superman escape yesterday. I finally understand all the hype behind SE now!! Wow it’s incredible!!! Definitely best in the front. My last ride on superman made me like green lantern more than SE. But it has definitely redeemed itself. Every element is spectacular. Only thing is it’s so short. That’s the only reason I still prefer DCR.

Thanks. Do you usually need to re-enter the pass barcode?

It wouldn’t fit anywhere as mentioned previously. these guys are selling a Intamin half pipe for 500.000 euros. Or roughly $800.000 aus. https://www.amusement-rides.com/en/product/half-pipe-intamin. Rides don’t hold value to well as second hand. Buzz saw was bought for 7M and sold for 1M. Buzzsaw is more ride but maybe a less premium manufacturer. But using the same logic I Still couldn’t see a new halfpipe bought when Surf rider was bought being more than 5M-7M.
-
It got a repaint, but I do not recall it getting new track. New train would be 2-3M realistically. Moving it would be 1M, repaint another 1M. Theming probably another 1M. I may have exaggerated these numbers but often times things, especially in theme park industry end up costing a lot more than what seems reasonable. But even this is only 6M. Add an extra 3M for commissioning, marketing unexpected costs and it’s still only 9M. (I doubt it would even cost this much but I have no idea). There is no way it will cost 20M. I didn’t see VRTP advertising that it is costing 20M anywhere? maybe I missed it. How’s that one Facebook dude… yeah add a bigger coaster then DC rivals In a fully landlocked park…
-
Oh yeah what. 😂 they really didn’t think that one through… LPM might just be the first park to have a ride inside a ride in the world ! Would be cool! Seems a bit unlikely but hopefully.

Same. Schwarzkopf’s are disappearing! First that quad loop one then mindbender and now possibly this! They don’t seem to have the die hard fan base arrow has mostly because schwarzkopf is not American.

Found the Eureka Mine Train video, I can't believe it.

That’s so cool! Yeah either find a place that can do it Or perhaps you could buy a tape player and a HI-8 to DVD converter kit? They are both pretty cheap on eBay now. Then all you need is if you own a laptop or computer with a CD/DVD slot you could get it onto a blank dvd. then it’s pretty easy to get a dvd processed to digital. But that would be much more complicated than going into a place if one is still around. Used to be a place in coolangatta That did it but I think they might only do DVD to USB convertions now. Hope you find a way to get the video!!. -
Superman often opens a little later. I think that’s pretty common for hydraulic launching coaster’s. Not sure what is going on with Leviathan. weird that DCR went down. It’s been happening a bit lately other wise it’s pretty realible. I hope you still had a fun day at all the parks. Despite everything. Did you notice if superman and rivals were running 2 trains? crazy that dreamworld’s collection of coasters are now the most reliable on the Gold Coast.

imagine the aftermath if that happened here. The news would go crazy.

You actually got a good point here. I didn’t think about it like that, but you’re right. This on its own isn’t to bad but Things add up. Like you said, you might not think you notice something, but your brain did. and it has its affect. Enthusiast’s make a point of these things, but that doesn’t mean the average person visiting parks doesn’t subconsciously notice it too.

It is themed to a giant oil tower thing . So it kinda makes sense to have the real simple font as that’s what very industrial buildings have.
-
What’s wrong with the text? Other than the font being very uninspiring. I don’t mind the words . But I don’t love them. Just curious why you don’t particularly like them
-
I still find it so funny how many people I over hear at seaworld say stuff like “so why did they make it out of wood?!” “That can’t be safe, it’s wooden!” And my favourite “I never want to ride Levithan it’s wooden, I rode a wooden coaster in Melbourne and it hurt my back”. I wan so tempted to tell him that this was brand new, and the one in Melbourne is over 100 years old. 😂

Village have a bad relationship with flat rides at the moment. Though I doubt this is anything major

I gotta wonder if you even read any of the replies @Dean Barnett

Not really. They were the first to give them special names and make rules about achieving those names. Moonsault Scramble Was the first coaster to take Guests up to 200 ft. Tower Of Terror was the first to take guests to 300 ft. Top Thrill Dragster did take guests up to 400 ft so they got that one at least. Superman escape from krypton is listed as over 400 ft but I believe the launch got the train the same height as tower of terror so I do not believe it was the first to get guest’s up to 400 ft but I could be wrong. Cedar point just couldn’t handle that other country’s had the records so they made up rules that it had to be full circuit to get a fancy name… but they still beat cedar point at getting that high on a coaster. Even if they aren’t considered hypers and giga’s. Height is height . cedar point was the first to make up names for the 200, 300 and 400 foot heights in coasters. Not get a train that high. (Except TTD) -
Maybe a small play structure of some sort? They make some pretty ones nowadays.
-
Yeah right. That’s interesting. I very rarely go to a city maybe that’s my problem . I also live in hilly area and I know the height from the ground of most the hills. So I visualised in hill’s. However I now measure in Leviathan’s. 2 Levi’s = 1 dc rivals. 2 dc rivals is pretty much giant drop (if you round up a bit)
-
Everyone has that thing they just don’t click with. 🤷🏼♂️
-
Exactly. It’s a very odd sign. They forgot how to use grammar and they minimised their own records. What theme park wants to do that? To my brain 39 storeys is harder to imagine then 390 ft. Ah didn’t see that. That’s good. Never mind my last comment then, my mistake.
