  1. And the results have came in. Motocoaster has been absolutely smashed by Jet Rescue with 35-2. Not a good look for Dreamworld with 3/4 coasters turned into scrap metal. Boomerang wins automatically due to a rule change being made. Also, we will be going back to a 1 vote poll due to popular demand. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang This time, I will try something different where Storm Coaster is put against Wild West Falls and The Plunge due to Storm being the only water coaster, and me not being able to compare it to another for that reason. Let me know what you think. Vote here and put your votes in by Tuesday:
  2. Time to do something different: We will be comparing Storm Coaster to the log flumes as I feel like Storm cannot be compared with anything else. Put your votes in by Tuesday.
  3. Must have been new with the voiceovers on the lift hill, wasn’t there either when I was there on January 21. Good improvements none-the-less.
  4. Hello everyone: In late January I went to Gumbuya World to experience the new roller coasters, and here is what I think of them: TNT (Vekoma 453m Suspended Family Coaster) Firstly, the ride me and my sister went on at the start of the day was TNT. I must say the theming is very nice on the coaster’s queue, and the fact that the queue goes under the track gives me Road Runner Rollercoaster at Movie World vibes TBH. We did have fast pass, but decided to use them later so we got in the regular queue line. I would say we waited for around 30minutes to get on, as it is the most popular dry ride at the park (waterslides are the most popular however). But when we did get on we got to row 10 (the back row) and what I can say is the back is the most intense. You get more force sitting at the back so it feels more intense. It goes fast the whole way through and is a great family coaster that you will love at Movie World. I later got row 1 and 7 but I do think 10 is most intense as I said. I will give it an 8/10. Project Zero (Maurer 150m Skyloop) The next ride on our list was the most thrilling coaster, Project Zero. It is a hand-me-down from Dreamworld, which is good for the park as it isn’t that old and gives the park another thrill ride. The theming is also good, but however not to the TNT standard. Me and my sister decided to use the fast pass this time, and luckily due to that it was a walk-on. It actually has some queues unlike at Dreamworld in the normal line. When we did get on it was a great coaster. I feel like the front is the best of the coaster, as you feel the wind flowing through your face and you also go higher when going up, going upside down unlike the other seats of the train. It actually didn’t feel as bad as it looks. It is a great thrill ride for the park and I give it an 8.5/10. So they are my reviews of the new coasters. They are great additions for the park and Victorian parks in general, as apart from Scenic Railway all our other coasters are SBF Visa tiny coasters that could be seen at carnivals. I am glad to see parks outside of the GC invest in new coasters. P.S Didn’t know where to put this, but according to YouTube there is new audio that wasn’t there when I went on the chairlift of TNT. It goes like this (note: can’t see what the first part of the voiceover is) Person 2: Yep, just like it’s written here! 500 kgs of nitro, or does that say 500 grams? The writings are a bit scrappy. Person 1: Ahhh, she’ll be alright. (TNT noises start going off) Person 1: She’s gonna blow! Run for cover! The coaster then starts the drop and goes like normal.
  5. 😍😍😍 Yes yes yes. It is going to bring a great vibe to the park TBH, being the first thing you see when you enter. It is the equivalent of SE at Movie World being behind the entrance or the castle at Disneyland/Disneyworld.
  6. Before the refurb they had 23 attractions, which will soon decrease to 20 (counting shows (permanent) and not counting animals + WWW) Attractions going: Dronkeys Gingy's Glider Puss in Boots Sword Swing BIP Maze Dorothy's Tea Cup Ride Big Red Boat Attractions coming: Jungle Rush Big Red Planes Big Red Coaster Compare that to Movie World which will have 23 attractions by 2024 (WoO counted as 3 coasters/SurfRider also counted) to DW's 20. For the first time MW will have more than DW.
  7. Ah that explains it. Are they and Wedgie going under a refurb? Must be if they are closed from April 2022 - September 2023 (counting closed period from April-September)
  8. According to the website, Fully 6 2/3 are out of maintenance at White Water World. The Wedgie is still listed.
  9. Ah thats why it is closed. When I asked people at the park they said that Tree Swing was down due to them needing a part and it would open in around mid-Feb. Must be rebuilding it from scratch or a retheme. I agree. The fact that it is being made in Italy (where Zamperla is) and Dreamworld have a good relationship with them as well as the new rides being made by Zamperla makes me think of that. Yes P+B are in Italy but they have no relationship with Dreamworld which is why I think a Zamperla wave swinger is most likely.
  10. Ok, sorry for adding WoO Boomerang to the list. I will still count whoever wins MDMC vs. Jet Rescue however.
  11. And Scooby wins the race against the Wild Mouse and the Dingo with 43-11-2. Due to the Wild Mouse being heritage, it will be let abandoned while the Dingo Racer is turned into scrap. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster For the next poll, I will try something different. This time there will be two polls in the same thread. Let me know what you think of it, and put your votes in by Saturday. Vote here:
  12. This time we will be doing two polls. Also due to the WoO Boomerang not being open, you can compare it to POVs of Tweestyrd as well as the theming on the concept art. Vote by Saturday.
  13. In my opinion you can't compare MW to Disney. In my personal opinion, I see it as a combination of Universal/Six Flags. The general vibe seems closer to Universal than Disney, and the attractions seem similar to Six Flags, as well as the WB characters. Some examples are that main street/the park layout look similar to Universal (Hollywood in particular) while DCR and JL look like something out of Six Flags (Justice League: Battle from Metropolis at multiple SF parks was based of JL: Alien Invasion at MW IIRC)
  14. Seems like you had an alright time. Yes at Gumbuya World Project Zero always closes at 10-11am and 2-3pm due to maintenance, maybe something to do with Buzzsaw's unreliability? Unfortunately for you TNT broke down but at least you got a go. It is most intense at the back IMO, when it comes to MW people will find it is very thrilling for a family coaster. And also as you said, the waterslides are more popular than the rides. IMO I feel like TNT is the most popular land ride, followed by Project Zero, Tree Swing and Mining Race Coaster. The queues are very short on Rebel and Rush Hour, on the latter I had to wait 10 minutes for others to get on as I was the only one in line. Buzzsaw is in a great home now where it actually gets queues now TBH.
  15. A bit hard to tell as most of the kids attractions are done by Zamperla. Basically all the kids attractions except coasters and carousels are done by Zamperla.
  16. I have figured out the clues and I think I know who the manufacturer of the wave swinger is. It is Zamperla! I am guessing it because: Greg Yong said the swinger is being manufactured in Italy, where Zamperla is Big Red Boat and Big Red Plane are being manufactured by Zamperla Zamperla make wave swingers that look like the one in the concept art It seems to me that Movie World, Sea World and Dreamworld love Zamperla for their kids rides. Basically nearly all the kids rides except carousels/coasters are done by them.
  17. It was a tough one (35-35 at some point) but Superman Escape escaped the earthquake unlike the Steel Taipan (46-38), so Superman is added to the list while Steel Taipan is made into scrap metal. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape The next poll will be a 3-voter with one option due to there being 3 wild mouses. The battle will be Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster vs. Wild Mouse vs. Dingo Racer. Place your votes in by Wednesday. Vote here:
  18. Time to pick the fourth coaster in the list. This time there will be 3 options due to their being over 2 wild mouse coasters in Australia. Please note: this does not count the Crazy Spinning Coaster in carnivals, only permanent versions. Remember to put votes in by Wednesday.
  19. Voting is now closed. Anymore votes will not count. (Accidentally didn't make it close automatically)
  20. Now we are Sixty eight votes in and it is still 50/50! Will be interesting if we see a tie.
  21. Yup, now 60 votes and 30-30. This is one of the toughest choices in the community IMO.
  22. Nah Daddy Pig GigaCoaster, the first gigacoaster in the southern hemisphere and the world's most iconic coaster.
  23. In my opinion I love the idea of a Wizard of Oz themed land. It's a timeless classic watched by many generations and people still love it today. And it is also a break from DC themed lands (thank god). The theming also looks 100 times better than Arkham Asylum and will be one of the best themed lands of the park with Wild West Falls also close.
  24. And boom. Big Dipper wins against Abyss with 17-13, which means the latter is turned into scrap metal and the former is added to the list. 1. TNT 2. Big Dipper The next votes will be Superman Escape vs Steel Taipan. You have until Saturday to vote. Vote here:
  25. Time for round two, this time it will be Superman Escape vs. Steel Taipan. Put your votes in by Saturday.
