But they plucked the '28 days of no community transmission' definition of a hotspot out of no where in the months leading up to the election. Theres no WHO or legitimate scientific basis for this hardline '28 day' policy. Feel free to post links to medical/scientific materials that suggest otherwise. The curves were flattened with open borders through far more targeted and swift declarations of actual hotspots as needed months before the borders were closed. And that 'logan liar' situation you mentioned showed that community compliance with social distancing and swift contact tracing is both ncredibly effective and far more important because this virus can and does slip through the cracks. @Jdude95 yet again demonstrates his wit and intellect with his well researched rebuttal.

Theres no logical reason that a 40,000 person grand final can go ahead but Sydney remains shut off because of a tiny handful of isolated cases. Its all election nonsense. I don’t think anyones disputing that its a marine park in the vein of the US Seaworlds. Its whether it is a theme park. And the answer is absolutely yes. Themed areas and rides have been integral to SW for 30+ years. They’ve continued to add new themed rides every few years. Also should point out VRT only really started calling it a marine park very recently to soften their image after all the animal activist nonsense. That’s just branding and marketing. It’s still a theme park by any reasonable definition.

Nope. Seaworld started as a ski show and gradually added animals and rides. The heavy reliance on animals only came about in the late 90's. They had heavily themed rides like lassiters (which became Bermuda Triangle) long before there was any conservation message or animals were the main thing. DW and SW are both theme parks that are severely lacking in rides and good theming. But both are theme parks and this is a really stupid debate to be having.

Except DW had petitioned for and gained approval to open months ago. At the same time that village started reopening. The only reason they didn't is because they were broke.

Neither company was performing anything but the bare minimum of preventative maintenance while things were shut indefinitely. Dreamworld have a full 5 weeks from today and a check for 70 million to catch up on maintenance and certification. They also had 7 weeks before now to get ready. The comparison is accurate but not the full picture.
