I'm not so sure. Maintenance at Scenic World appears to be exceptional. There is no reason not to think they wouldn't have maintained the structure even though not in use.

Yes I'm sorry I am privy to such numbers and Sea World is certainly not unpopular. And what do you mean that even if it was one of the best in the world $85 would be a joke. This is what is wrong with this country. Everyone undervalues everything so much. Then winged because we don't build $25 million coasters.

Yeah given the actual owner of the ride has said there are no firm plans or timeline to open/finish it, I wouldn't get too excited.

First of all, since when does anyone really pay $85 to get into a park these days? Second of all exactly who is 'everyone you speak to' alex_1? Because to get an accurate picture you have to asses all demographics. Sea World is really the only fully rounded park (I'd include Dreamworld but it's so run down it's a joke) that has offerings to fill a full day even when not busy. So I really don't think the entry price to Sea World is "just ridiculous"

Oh I was so looking forward to seeing it next month too. Might now bother to head up ther now.

The ride looks very imposing and impressive within the park and from across the Broadwater. Having most of Sea World set so low has really enabled a not all that tall attraction to really look massive.

Wow another new man at the top for Dreamworld. It's as I keep saying... no long term strategic vision from management because there is no long term management. All I heard was good things about Todd Coates so I'm guessing he jumped from a ship thats fast overfilling it's watertight compartments.

Movie World has just changed is all. When it opened it's movie theme was about making movies and now it's movie them is attractions based on movies. So it hasn't lost its Movie Theme it's just changed.

I'll second all that. That's a really great run down of why the park may look a failure on paper, further analysis shows it does make a lot of money.

Hmmm sounds like confused identity once again. And as for the message. Wonderland was as big as Disneyland but it was no where near as good.

That platter system which was in most cinemas did set the film ready to go again rather than have to re wind the rolls but you still needed to lace it up. Closed loop systems existed but most cinemas weren't using them. If your feature was digital and in a normal multiplex it was likely scheduled in advance so wouldn't have been a case of the guy stuffing it up there and then. However I agree with you it's not acceptable.

Delivery can vary depending on lead time etc so yes all of the above for how they 'get' the files. It's a very complex file management and security and licensing system. You can't for instance just grab the files and play them at home. They can't even play them at will in the cinema. Every screening is tracked and must be purchased. The encryption goes right the way trough to the projector so you can't even hijack the video signals. Everything is run through a cinemas management software where all the sessions are scheduled in advance and that couples them with advertising, trailers etc. The extended black pauses between things before the feature is the system switching content and authorizing for that session. No one actually pushes play. That's a summary of a pretty complicated little system that's actually quite interesting.
