Hmmm dunno which is worse in those two scenarios...

This! The park doesn’t need to be boycotted over. But I think a “WTF come on, you’re better than this” is more than fair and we can acknowledge that and move on. Defending it is not the laughable bit. No you didn’t, and no one was suggesting you did. I’d speed up it’s journey to the bin personally.

Thank you for providing confirmation that DW could literally put lipstick on a pig at this point and still be praised for it. How in good faith can you look at that sign and think its in any way acceptable, DW, Luna Park, Movie World or your local council show? Its just not. Thank you for speaking on behalf of my knowledge, but the numerous pieces of 3 years old artwork in my house maybe say differently. A few of which are even of Emma Wiggle so…

The black face thing was a joke… I can assure you’d I’d have issue if she was white, purple, red, green, pink or orange… that’s probably the shittiest piss poor joke of a thing I’ve ever seen in a professional setting. Its laughably bad. Its not an enthusiast nit picking, it’s an adult with eyes seeing something a 3 year old could draw better. I mean every single person involved in that job on the sign should feel somewhat embarrassed. It was not a “good job” and they did not go to any “effort” so thanks but not thanks with your quote jibe there.

I mean WTF is that? It’s literally blackface on a sign at this point…

That’s not my question though. The carny operators are way more loose in their operations and don’t seem held to the same WPHS standards as the parks. How? -

So here is a genuine question… Given Village (or Dreamworld) don’t just invent painful load procedures and extensive safety systems for the fun of it; they jump through whatever hoops the government makes them. How do the carny operators get away with not doing half the safety stuff that the parks have to do? -
No

100%, I was referring to the nonsense that followed. Banging along the bottom doesn’t sound like a fun ride.

Ok we can all calm down with the alarm. The ride is not TRR, the park is not pre-accident Dreamworld. There is nothing to indicate here or at any time in the past that Movie World operate their attractions in any way that is unsafe at anytime.

I didn’t say parks dislike enthusiasts, they do like them, they make them money. I said they roll their eyes at them, which is correct and it’s posts like the above that are why. Sorry if that truth bomb triggers some people. I think it’s a pretty fair comment given the post created it’s own story, decided the park did that story wrong, and criticized it… This happens a lot, and is why I made the above statement. There is more to being into theme parks than always trying to find what’s wrong with them. Sometimes they can just be fun and the negative can be shrugged off as insignificant. -

Im very concerned… Its now been 4 mins since anyone posted about Leviathan’s opening status. How can a thread dedicated to reviews of the precinct survive? I mean that’s a pretty big call for ‘what I’ve heard’ -

Not agreeing or disagreeing. But perhaps its a case that the scheduled closures are ‘locked in’ but unscheduled ones live pull data from Accesso so until the daily closures go live it doesn’t update? Could be more a case of poor design rather than deliberately malicious?? -

This is why parks roll their eyes at enthusiasts. Sometimes it’s nice just to say good job rather than pick at insignificant details when they are clearly going to a lot of effort. -
Southbound isn’t very pretty either

I'll celebrate that from the comfort of the dockside bar. Its a nope from me for those things. I haven't ridden a Skyflyer though admittedly. Is it more view than spew? Certainly not getting me on Vortex though -

Yeah but its not really transparent, nor is it the park, thats kind of my point. In hindsight that should have just been a steel lift hill for the wooden coaster I imagine. But again, hindsight is a wonderful thing. -

Cool story... pity it's half of it... Then after it's grand opening, it basically shit itself again immediately after and even CAUGHT FIRE at one point. They have never stated what the issue was/is with the launch. I mean you can hand pick bits at will to suit the story but the reality is different. Again, I'm not defending Sea World, but don't make out someone else to be the poster child on this. And I could give two shits about what a website banner says. The fact is the Grand Opening of Atlantis has come and gone. We can keep pissing and moaning on here about what HAS happened IN THE PAST, or we can move on and make comment on what's happening moving forward. You can't condemn the park for all time now based on the past. So judging today, for their actions now, they opened it without fanfare. But if staying angry makes you feel good, go for it, seems a great way to spend a sunny Wednesday. -

I take issue with this. Dollywood have never since day 1, and still to this day been "transparent" with the issues on LR. They (and no one else) have ever said what was, and is wrong with it and what they need to do to fix it. Yes they told people when it was open and not, but pretty much it's has the same kind of problems at Sea World, they did a big opening and it was issues ever since. Never been transparent at all. Plus Leviathan may not be a World First, but in reality it's an Australian First (modern tech wooden rollercoaster) and with how different Aus is than the entire rest of the world it may as be considered worlds first. The above is not an endorsement or condemning of soft open or not, it's just taking the issue with the statement that Dollywood were completely transparent and SW aren't. Trident quietly opening today with little to no fanfare or announcement kinda sounds like 'testing the waters' and 'softly opening' to me does it not?
