  1. +1 It's kind of telling that when the creme de la creme movie park brand, Universal, builds a new park, but it only has one "movie making" attraction, but 5 roller coasters then that is what people want.
  2. In other news, they gave Dragon Kahn a vom new colour scheme on the trains. http://static.pa-community.com/pictures/4e/bd/838d94ebf69f602cc76066f177dd/th720_230e1dceac68b06551e00500056dee86.JPG Sponsored by PlaySkool/Fischer Price?
  3. Worth noting too, but even if this area doesn't have a new ride (yet) its' still got a new show. And new show = new attraction. Maybe not as good to us enthusiasts as a new flat ride, but we're not the target audience. From the looks of the area, I'm not sure how any kid could possibly be dissapointed with it.
  4. I think for fast track they could use that fire stair exit that was a temporary entrance a while back.
  5. But if they don't have machines yet, then you'd have no choice but to have humans doing the work of issuing passes, so I'm not sure what you were wanting to be done. ....If you were wanting to do a 1 week trial of this type of system, what would you do? At Disney, its about 3 extra staff to run fastpass per ride isn't it? One supervising the machines and controlling the line that (sometimes) forms there (Ever seen the fastpass line at Epcot for test track at park opening....its longer than the standby lol), and one that checks fastpasses at the return entrance, and then one at the merge point before boarding .
  6. Dude its a 1 week trial, so they aren't going to producing fastpass style machines for one week of use. And what exactly makes it "poorly thought out"?
  7. Is it the one with just random dreamworks clips, upbeat music, and a guy with a wierd British accent going "haha, we cant wait"?
  8. But you were saying about theming...What theming would need to come from overseas?
  9. But, I cant think of anything in recent times that would need to come from overseas...Animatronics possibly, but when was the last time we had one of them?
  10. Its not a replacement so to speak, but I reckon the blue coaster sitting next door to it fulfils those criteria, but better.
  11. ^That said, I wouldn't care one bit if Sea Viper was the next attraction to get replaced after Bermuda.
  12. Seriously Spencer, quit with the stupid posts ok. You've been told enough times to stop and it's beginning to get ridiculous. Saying kujotess is 'high' or whatever, was uncalled for, he was just reporting back on what someone said on the MW FB page.
  13. The park opened 10 years ago.
  14. I reckon if they went around and did all the blank sound stage walls in this treatment (2D "Wallpaper", with the odd articulated element like a sloping roof), particularly around Superman, but with skyscraper facades, it could create a really surreal comic book world, completely different to the 'real' buildings in main street. I think consistency is the important thing. If say its all 2d, but done well, then I reckon it works in a way. It's a bit like how at IOA in Marvel Superhero Island the building facades are deliberatley simplistic, with basic colour schemes, blocky architecture, and one word names on buildings like "Fruit" and "Diner". If there was one building like this, it would look bland as anything, but once you do a whole area of them, it just works.
  15. IMO peak season is when the parks are at their best (Barring the water parks, which are mental), everything is open and at capacity, and more of a Buzz. But perhaps try and go say mid Jan rather than the insane couple of weeks following new years. I've been at MW on a day with 12,000 guests, and yeah it did have long queues, but we got on everything and had a good day.
  16. Ok, so who thought it looked like Batman was being hung in that pic by TZA Hmmm, wonder if the batman came from the batman ride though? Or the sides of the HSD arena. But as you approach the ride building, its one building, and you are viewing it from the corner. It would look odd because you could see two different themes conflicting on each side.
  17. I wonder how one would go about combining them into "one giant ride" as per the advert?
  18. They did inherit the trains from the expo 88 monorail..... Re the Sydney one closing, well, as a legit form of mass transit it kinda failed in that respect, so no tears over its closure from me.
  19. The Sydney monorail I think would have worn out proportionally quicker, due to running every 5 minutes, and due to running 7am till 10pm.
  20. So at this fan page media thing, were you able get your own pics of the train?
  21. The rolling stock was at the end of its useful life in Sydney anyway, hence part of the decision to scrap it. I dont think it would be a cost effective option for park hopping anyway. It would cost several million to transport trains and build new track. Compare this to the cost of a couple of low floor buses at $400k each, looping all day.
  22. So on Levaithan...where was the airtime again? Typical B&M Hyper
