  1. The theming on that Superman coaster is really good, but the end of the ride looks a bit boring and unrealistic, since it it is just flat u turns, one after the other.
  2. ELL OH ELL
  3. Now see, stuff like that nobody can blame on management, clearly an employee doing a half arsed job. But arrgh, seriously replace them with wooden doors, put some foam on the other side so the car doesn't get scratched, and hey presto, a realistic effect.
  4. ^Plus Volcano is a coaster I have always thought looked interesting. I know I shouldn't complain about this, but between the new track style, and the new type of supports they are using (Seen on iSpeed) Intamin have gone from having perhaps the best looking rides, to the ugliest.
  5. The back seats are higher remember.
  6. Arthurs Bakery? Stars Cafe?
  7. This is probably one of the more exciting coaster announcements in a while, but Kings Dominion in Virginia is getting an Intamin Giga Coaster. It's been nearly 8 years since the last hyper of this scale has opened, but in that time we have seen Intamin really perfect their airtime machines (One criticism often levelled at Millennium force is that it has a lot of fast turns, but lacks strong airtime) I personally have high hopes for this one, It has the potential to be the worlds #1 coaster. No layout details are available yet, but the ride will feature a new style of track from Intamin that is reportedly stronger, yet cheaper to make.
  8. Umm, didn't I write: Why would someone die on it though? All I'm saying is that the launch is the only good thing about the coaster at Nürburgring, But the coaster in Dubai does the launch, plus it has an actual high speed layout with airtime, so clearly it's better. PS, if you are after some pics of the finished ride, check out http://onride.de/viewtopic.php?t=28726&start=850
  9. I heard about that a while back...Personally I think it seems like a bit of a disappointment, it launches straight into a set of brakes, negotiates one element and then goes slowly back to the station...A coaster with the aim of breaking records, but not much else. No doubt the launch will be good though. Personally, I think the F1 coaster at the Ferrari experience in Dubai is far more promising, I think it is potentially taking the world record, but it actually has turns and airtime hills, so it will be exciting from start to finish. 10. But it says clearly on the website, No food, drink or animals may be brought onto the premises. There is no mention of it only applying to 'commercial food.' On the other hand, WWW does make the distinction: http://www.whitewaterworld.com.au/content/...sp?name=WWW_FAQ So, it seems across all parks by both operators. -No food can be brought into dry parks. -You can bring your own food to water parks, so long as it is non commercial.
  11. Though, in the scheme of things, remember that Dreamworld has it too, so there goes your planned visit to DW too, it's only fair http://www.dreamworld.com.au/content/drw_2...EntryConditions TBH, I don't think it will change anything, They don't really enforce it at DW and I don't think they will very much at MW or SW. Staff at the front gate are too hurried, and we all know the security checks for your bags consist of a quick look inside, with no digging. PS, anybody else think it is funny they list food, and animals on the same line, obviously they mean pets....But you could read it as them covering their bases...no cows, pigs, chicken, crabs etc for food.
  12. Bingo, It's funny how bovine consumers can be in the US, that they accept paying $15 for parking, $5 for online ticket printing etc. Coincidentally, on some of the US theme park sites, if somebody takes issue with these charges they are often shot down, saying "well they charge this at ball games, other theme parks etc, deal with it"...Which basically means the people levying these charges are getting exactly what they want. This all sucks, the thing I liked about our parks is that they had their own flavour, and as enthusiasts here we didn't have to put up with half the crap those from overseas do. On another note, how many 'diabetics' and 'celiacs' etc will we have through the gates now?
  13. Reanimated, in future it would be better if you provided a link to the original text: http://movieworld.myfun.com.au/Park-Info/V...Information.htm Curiously, the website no longer has the line about more variety Edit: the line is still there on the FAQ page: http://movieworld.myfun.com.au/Park-Info/FAQ.htm There is hope yet.
  14. I think you could ride anything without issue then.
  15. To piss the residents off they should theme the water park like Wild Wadi;
  16. You didn't think to butt in?
  17. No way to get to Coomera? Is the 10 minute walk too tiring
  18. Photos of the Battlestar coaster layouts have turned up! It appears one of the dueling elements will be the sitdown wrapping around the middle of the Cobra Roll, whilst another part will be a sit down airtime hill going flying past the apex of the vertical loop.
  19. ^It appears to be just one from the Kalahari resort in Wisconsin Dells, lifted as is. For a company distributing such a wide range of products and design as one of their services, you'd think they'd have the tools to do more of a serious proposal, not simply a few images of indoor water parks from google and a quick list of features...Jamberoo seem to be doing better in terms of showing what is planned for them for instance. Well, this is Sydney, so you have to build miles away from anywhere to have enough land at a reasonable price.
  20. I can't remember the exact date, I think it might have been Feburary ish (Can someone dig up the post mentioning it)....Just another silly little cost cutting measure that will hurt guest satisfaction in the long run
  21. As with any announced park project these days "Ill believe it when I see it"....Though considering the track record of Indoor water parks, (And indeed the success of water parks in general here) it does seem like a safe option. I'd imagine the stage 2 theme park is a long way off though. The only thing that is concerning is that the website of JVplay is slightly 'dodgy'....They appear to be a ride broker of some sort, but if you look at the Roller Coasters page ( http://www.jvplay.com.au/_product_29188/Rollercoasters ) you can see that they are advertising B&Ms product line for sale, and hillariously the Mountain Glider, a coaster that existed at Walibi Belgium for a short period, but what closed and removed because of constant technical problems (Dunno why you'd want to associate yourself with that lemon) I kinda do hope all these associations they have are for real though.
  22. Not really, I mean it is only the second news article on the front page, and appears after a few seconds.
  23. I know it's pie in the sky, but new trains would be nice.
  24. I thought Dreamworld's strategy was to do the cost cutting, but then not add blockbuster attractions We'll never see the same situation as Six Flags, mainly because our parks don't overcapitalise, and have better service than Six Flags, but still I mean, cost cutting isn't bad if you are doing stuff like reducing wastefulness and choosing suppliers more carefully, but stuff like switching off special effects, deferring upkeep and closing attractions can only be damaging in the long term, and will inevitably negate any money saved. I find it interesting though that the parks that do consistently well are the ones that put quality foremost: Disney, Busch, Universal, plus a few of the European ones. I wish more parks would just follow their strategies, that way the good returns come naturally, rather than a result of reducing quality.
  25. Are they out on the Broadwater? To me it just sounds like an expanded water sports offering, which the resort has had for years.
