I could see a new ride going in at the carpark side station of the chairlift, but there dosen't seem to be that much room for a biggish ride there. Although having a new attraction would help to balance out the Park back towards the North. There's too much focus on the Ocean Parade / Nick part of the park, imo.

I can see why they need to remove the skylink to build new attractions when they have the large area where Thunderbolt was to build something big, expensive and new.

That's what I mean, there really isn't much space there even without the chairlift. Then again there is enough for a flat ride at least, but no coasters. Well, nothing big anyway.

I think the term "Eventually" tells you something. It sounds as if the park has removed the ride with no replacement rides in mind. Fair enough too, it required 5 operators over the course of the day, wasn't very popular, and was potentially dangerous. Last time I was there it was closed until 11 (approx.) and closed by 4. As a transport system it was redundant, and as a ride it was pretty ordinary.

Hmm, that could open the door for a few new things, such as a roller coaster making use of the area, or a 3rd GD axis.

I was wondering why they didn't add another side to GD, it would help deal with capacity.

Not as easy as it seem adding another side to GD, It would only increase it by 4 ppl anyway. Is that really worth the money?

Hmm, they could do a complete refit. I know that one of the paramount parks refitted its gyro drop with a bigger non rotating ring that holds 80 or so people, so it could be possibe for DW to call up ride trade for a refit, but i doubt the would.

I have heard that SkyLink is being replaced by Wonderland's SkyRider. It is an improvement in safety by having enclosed gondolas instead of open chairs. "The Bus is now leaving for Skyring Creek, Queensland"

So it is going to be another chairlift. They have the Thunderbolt area for a new ride.

Hahahaha. Any of you who believe what Bus told us actually rode Skyrider? This just gets better every minute.

They dont really need the chairlift anymore because they only had it for when Koala Country could only be reached via Riverwalk, but when the path got joined up from Rocky Hollow to AWE then the ride was less vital. The walk isn't unbearable, and those who dont want to walk can just take the train. This could open the door for more development around Goldrush.

Here is what they could do to improve GD's Capacity issue with Skylink now gone. They could add another tower (like shown in pic) and re-seat the tower. By adding a new thing of seats around most of the tower's. All conected. All go up at the same time. All drop at the same time.

A new tower would cost several million, and in any case, why connect it to the existing one when if you built it standalone, all sides could be used? Personally, just make the semicircle ring idea, but make the spokes that the seats are on longer to allow for more capacity.

Why not just put another row of seats on the North side, speed up the elevators of the other two and fully staff the ride?

To be realistic, I couldn't see them touching the tower to alter either GD/ToT. Unless they decided to send the ToT higher (faster), where they might have to alter something on the tower (height limiter?) but that's unlikley. As for a new, big, ride at the Thunderbolt site, that would be fine, but I still maintain that the park needs to balance the visitors more evenly across the park. Gold Rush is an easy place to start, as it's close to Ocean Parade, where I have seen a larger amount of people to be spending their park time.

Too much of the Latest thrills in Ocean Parade. They need to move the Thrill Sector around the park.

I don't think that there would be enough room in Gold Rush to do anything new though, even if the chairlift station is removed. But in the small space that there is, what sought of ride could be put in that still matches the theming of the area?
