Funfields ‘Kraken Racer’ Upgrade

Featured Replies

Funfields have been teasing this on their socials for a few months, but they have officially announced that their Kraken Racer is being upgraded to become Kraken Unleashed, with the slide becoming 75m longer. Making it the longest slide racer in the country.

Based on the images, it appears that the only part being kept is the final hill and splashdown, with the rest of the slide being brand new and aligning with the elements most modern racers get.

The slide will be 235m long, 22m tall and is opening this Summer.

Funfields have added something new pretty much every year for the past 12 or so years. I don’t think there’s any other park in the country that has seen so much consistent investment and expansion on that scale recently.

People don’t even visit the park during the summer if it’s raining or slightly cooler! They’ve got no chance of getting guests during the winter.

Gumbuya World is open all year round and just closes its water park between April and October. The dry park is generally pretty quiet during winter too (unless the suns out)
