Hey first ever new topic was just keen to see if anone knows any information to what's happend with the dreamworld steam trains, like have they been parked up in the back of the workshop or sold off and removed from the park..

Around a month or so ago they were still at Dreamworld in their shed awaiting whatever their future has in store for them.

One is visible in the shed under Black Lagoon mountain as of last week.

The baldwin sits at the back of the shed, visible from outside the park, whilst the Perry sits inside the shed, only visible if you catch a glimpse as you go past one of the sheds windows. There's a few rumours circulating about their future, but nothing has been confirmed.

They were trains, so probably still are.

Are those sheds visible from the Buzzsaw queue? I thought I saw one of the locomotives there the other day.

I know it is visible from the train as it circles around Blue Lagoon... Not sure about Buzzsaw queue.

It may have been something completely different, it was under the old chairlift building.

From the Buzzsaw queue, if you look towards the Big Brother Ampitheatre, you can see the Baldwin (red) locomotive. Otherwise, if you can't be bothered waiting for Buzzsaw, you can see it from the Fenceline near the bus parking area.

So... what are the rumours about their future?

Won't hold you accountable if it turns out not to be true, just curious.

It's a bit sad. Id like to see them work with an enthusiast group or something and run the genuine engine one Sunday a month or something like this as a feature.

If not then give the engines to people who will do something with them and keep them running.

Whilst I think of it, does Currumbin Sanctuary still have the baby steam engine and run it from time to time?

Yeah, currumbin still has the baby steam engine. It was in use a few weeks ago.

Currumbin use the steam engines on the weekend, and electric on weekdays.

Rumors so far is that they are both going to Woodford Railway, second being that one is going to woodford to be "operational", whilst the other has an operational future on the gold coast. Now there are no other 2ft gauge railways on the gold coast, except for Dreamworld and possibly Sea World (not 100% on the gauge). Whether this rumor is saying that Dreamworld will keep one steamer to run once a year on a "steam week" style event is the question that remains to be seen. The final rumor is that one engine will be put out the front of Main Street station for kids to get photos with (and ultimately let the engine rot away like the Fire Engine, and Little Puff. I have so far not been able to get anything confirmed.

Just wondering if any1 was ever gotten pics of the inside of the workshop were the trains were rebuilt and housed. Just keen to see what kind of set up they had to operate these beautiful locomotives.

I overheard a conversation a long time ago that they were going to set one up in Main Street as T-bone said for photos etc. One thing I learnt from working there though was never to take anything you hear as fact. So I guess we just wait and see.
