Not sure why this is getting down voted. It's probably one of the most reasonable posts you've made. 

I'm sure the majority of members would agree they'd like the pod to go higher up the tower.

Why replace the LSM when it would be the control system itself that requires the upgrade. 

New control, new drives, new motors all kinda go hand in hand. 

The tech has all come a long way since 97

They don't need a turntable, they just need a higher capacity car.  The track only has one curve, so it wouldn't be difficult to make a 'stretch' version of the ride, although the extra weight may require increased launch power.

Also, the highest I can recall seeing the ride go up the tower is to to just above the 'E' in Tower of Terror.  But that was before the GD was installed.     

These days it barely makes it to the 'F'.
