Either we will be waiting a while for the work to be done, or they haven’t figured out when they are going to do it and this is just the usual scheduled maintenance 

Show fx can be tested and installed outside normal hours @themagician. Let's hope they are doing just that and the maintenance for the end of the year is routine/mechanical.

In a pinch, show effects can be installed inside normal hours too if they delay the ride opening until 11 or 12 each day. Save on overtime rates.

If one trade is delayed exiting, the ride can be down all day. Not to mention - would maintenance be able to do their morning inspections while there are people working within the envelope?

Random closures are a part of Theme Park life and from memory a VRTP video said morning maintenance checks were around an hour to complete per ride? (could be wrong). If trades started at 6 or so they would have a fair chunk of time and of the larger works they could then work overnight.

 

Not saying its ideal, but its possible.

Not really saving much on overtime then, and you're not getting much done in 4 or so hours when you include time to lockout, secure and access and then clear the envelope to permit operation each day.

If you're going to try and do it outside of normal hours, do it at night. Start at park close, and work a shift, and that way if things go wrong, its possible to clear the park before open and get things back up and running.
