Breaking news...

That's an almost 3 month long period of "maintenance". I'm pretty sure that's a fair bit longer than they would normally close it for, so this does sound promising (at long last)!

The castle is undergoing a repaint. You can really see the difference in the last photo. And the rides information and safety board is gone too.

I think I might have heard that the new name will be "The brand new official Warner Bros Movie World Scooby-Doo Spooky Roller Coaster with awesome enhanced effects, by Village Roadshow Theme Parks".

Pretty snazzy, don't you think?

It makes sense to Market the ride as "Next Generation" and as an all new experience. Like I have said before, bundle it together with all the other newer things at the Park (DD, Lego4D etc) to justify return on investment.

MW could stand to do very well marketing what they have versus DW and Australia's only Flying Simulator, for sure.

Market a 16 year old ride with new projectors or an australian first ride? Know which one I'd like to market.

Market the new ride as I-ride or "Australia's only Flight Simulator",  then yes

I hope they still use some practical sets and not just screens and projections otherwise pretty positive stuff. 1 million dollars seems like a pretty good budget and hopefully they use it well. Not really excited for the addition of next generation to the name but will probably not matter much.

From what I've seen of projection mapping, there aren't any screens involved at all.

It could potentially be virtually impossible to tell the difference between the projected effects and physical theming.

My comment above obviously only applies if the projection mapping is working perfectly. Given Villages record on maintenance of theming, I have my reservations, but we'll see.
