DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion

Hey Jake - wasn't specifically referring to your post, but the two after it simply referencing a product, and it's cost, without labour.

Oh i'm sorry - I didn't realise you were a moderator.

You did notice TWO of them continued the discussion here, right?

Lights can also come under construction - since lights are part of the construction...

Do you need a hand out of the backseat?

Oh I'm sorry Alexis. I had no idea that the coloured lighting along the track had nothing to do with the theme - considering discussion of the theming for this coaster was strongly condemned in this thread, one would assume light bulbs/coloured LED lights  couldn't be discussed either as it's clearly theme related!

Can you kindly explain in fine detail the difference between discussing the theme of the coaster (which is related directly to the construction as per your logic) and the difference between the coloured light bulbs along the track are? I'd love to here your reasoning for the huge differences between theme discussion and construction discussion.

Or.. will you just delete my comment because you cbf being wrong and don't wanna be caught breaking your own rules?

Lighting is a physical object that's being added to the coaster, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a part of "construction". When the queue starts being built and there are elements of theming being put in, does that mean we're not allowed to talk about them here because they're part of the theming?

NI loop is really starting to take shape now, looking forward to the big statement it makes out the front of the park.

Talk about the physical lighting being installed belongs here yes.

Talk about what they should have done, what we want them to do, and which department store sells the cheapest fairy lights - does that really fit here?

all this talk of lights has me wondering if they will need a blinking red one for the top of the lift hill. :D

What, the giant Joker head won't be warning enough? 😂

9.4.1.3

Owners of tall buildings or structures below the obstacle limitation surfaces,
or less than 110 m above ground level, may, of their own volition, provide
obstacle lighting to indicate the presence of such buildings or structures at
night. To ensure consistency and avoid any confusion to pilots, the obstacle
lighting provided needs to conform with the standards specified in this
Chapter.

Does the Dreamworld tower have any lighting on the top? (IE a red light for for pilots?)

Yes it does. Lots of light aircraft around that area

If i was a pilot i think i might be tempted to try and fly through it.

Your update for the 10th of June 2017. (and probably my largest so far)

Comparison Photo 1 (Stengel/Inclined-Dive Loop):

Non-Inverted Loop is becoming more and more visible with each passing week.DSCN7683.thumb.JPG.717e920cec65aee27e8b097c03844a08.JPG

Comparison Photo 2 (Non-Inverted Loop/Pretzel Helix):

They positioned the construction vehicles in the worst possible places. :(

So here's an alternate angle on the loop.

Why are the supports on the lift hill so cluttered together?

Area constraints. (It's both the lift hill and first drop supports)

As you can see there's not much room, the park needs to retain the emergency entrance road to the left, and obviously can't reroute the main entry road. (and yes, they COULD reroute it, but it's not exactly financially feasible, nor required) So yeah, hopefully that's a decent enough answer.

It says on RCDB that the N-I-Loop will be 131ft high (40m).

This got me thinking, will that mean the airtime hill will be about 50m high? Obviously going off estimated heights but It could be,

Drop - 61m

Airtime Hill - 50m

N-I-Loop - 40m

Stengel Dive - 30m

Then the rest of the track after the turn around is pretty low to the ground anyway.

Not sure how it all works, does anyone know? Or does it depend on the coaster/Manufacturer etc?

Would depend on the individual layout I would expect.

Each peak needs to be lower than the previous one of course, but losses due to wheel friction and air resistance need to be factored in too. If there was say 300m (to exaggerate) between peaks, you'd have much greater losses of energy than with 30m between peaks.
