DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion

WOW! Just visited the RCDB website about 20 minutes ago (internet crashed so took me a while to post this) but apparently this coaster is going to be a fair way over the 200ft mark!

Upon having another look - this has since been changed back to the original height. Wonder what that was?

Where did you get this from? Because it's so far away from the rest of the park, we aren't sure yet that what's been built is taller than Superman, which it might not be. And it's certainly not longer than any other coaster in the park, heck, Road Runner is probably still longer than it at the moment.

Sorry, I meant longer as in one length not track length

RCDB rounds to 1 decimal place - i've never seen a metric conversion to feet listed at more than a single decimal.

This is definitely photoshopped, most likely by the original poster.

Someone make a home made clinometer and go take some rough measurements. Can work out an approximate height pretty easy.

Or script edited.  I just thought the same thing.  Everybody take note.  Alexb did not wake up in the last shower.

@Levithian Why make one when I already have one.

Kids loved this, thanks.  However I think i will stick to my laser measure we use for sports field poles.... :P

Well here's my update, and some new things we hadn't noticed yet. Along with the completed turn around point, new supports are going up, which appear will twist under and then back of the track. Some supports further down are installed, as well as some down the narrow run (around the lift hill area) and near the brake run. Very tightly twisted track has arrived. More stair pieces have arrived. And there are also some very thick columns.IMG_7726.thumb.JPG.518f686d83db4169996127ddf4a5e67e.JPGIMG_7728.thumb.JPG.45b8dd8850e518027478574cb807f297.JPGIMG_7729.thumb.JPG.4e7d582211094689fbcea57b3decf5bb.JPGIMG_7731.thumb.JPG.5398efb15ac9ed55d207fb486776c474.JPGIMG_7734.thumb.JPG.69730770b30a456d2022f6443c2ee3c2.JPGIMG_7747.thumb.JPG.0ae5da6dc0381da87199cee06e63a652.JPGIMG_7748.thumb.JPG.a4ee8fbd0a5a74122130d33582ef492e.JPGIMG_7750.thumb.JPG.09ba95917360853538d81a17617f741b.JPGIMG_7755.thumb.JPG.e17623b069f04ffffa1102e62d562be1.JPGIMG_7759.thumb.JPG.bbc183ec4be01b14c3be5d04b39831dd.JPGIMG_7761.thumb.JPG.97bd7ddbacde3334e83b62bb20d1ec78.JPGIMG_7756.thumb.JPG.fa69e4dab4e7ced845ff34a7441a079f.JPGIMG_7758.thumb.JPG.704a84c503f0a203dbf6bb7e6889daff.JPGIMG_7764.thumb.JPG.959ed840e17662d545f62f18a92bc25a.JPG

I'm honestly surprised at the speed this thing is going up at, however I haven't looked at the time it took other Movie World coasters to go up. For some reason I suspected construction would be slower but it's great to see the progress made so far. Obviously lots more is still to come but from the time they began construction that's a lot of track that's gone up. Also thanks @themagician for the awesome pics.

So is the height estimate of the completed part still around 30 meters?

Is the lift hill going to be twice that height?!?

My expectations for this coaster just tripled... so twistyyyyyy 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

That's probably the zero g roll (if there is one)

speaking of the lift hill is that on the site somewhere or will that be delivered later?

Supports are likely to be on location, piece number 9 in one of my above photos is quite large and multiple of them, so I'd say that is for a high section of the lift hill. But to my knowledge, no track is on site yet

Looking at the skyline of the park and everyone saying it will be the height of batwing at 200ft.

Now its hard to imagine 200ft lift hill out the front of the park. Batwing (200ft) as a comparison is further back from where the lift hill will be and therefore looks smaller.

So I have done a quick Photoshop and doubled the height of Green lantern (108 ft) give or take a few ft and doubled it in height to show where the lift hill height will roughly be.

The last footing label before the lift hill is labeled K08.  That would make the number 9 support the first major support of the lift hill.  Hopefully you remember the angled footings at the bottom of the lift hill,  The angled footings are not part of the standard K supports so it will be the first support after the track connects to the angled footings.

Bottom of lift hill?

Could we be getting an almost 90 degree drop on this coaster, going from the footing in the left of picture (assuming it is the last of the lift hill/first in drop) that does not leave a lot of area to get from 200Ft+ down to those two supports.

I should say though this will be the first coaster of this size I have seen, so maybe someone who has ridden something of similar height overseas may be able to comment on this for me.
