Theme Parks during Ekka

Featured Replies

So I've got Monday off for the Ekka public holiday (Moreton Bay Regional Council).
Family is going to the Ekka, but I haven't had my flu shot so am avoiding it. I am thinking of heading down to Movie World by myself.

Does anyone have any experience from previous years as to what it is like at the park on the Ekka Monday holiday from previous years?
Aside from the absence of open soft drink refill stations of course 😄

What does a flu shot have to do with the Ekka though?

It's known for being a place where the cold/flu likes to be spread around.

Some other regions have their show holiday on the Monday so things might not be as quiet as you expect it to be at the parks.

Forgot the laughing face - as @pin142 said, it is know for being source of the due to the weather and large masses of people from different regions.

Basically the rest of South East Qld (except Gold Coast) get the public holiday on the Monday, which is my concern.

And Brisbane, which is the 2 largest population bases in the south east

it will be fine

Answer is:

Busy-ish.

3x rivals, 2x Arkham, 1x superman in three hours. Though with superman I skipped 60% of the 45 minute queue (I was near the pillars) when they called out "single rider" and I was the only one.

Main car park full at 1pm, with 30% of the gravel area near Rivals parked on.

I went today. Park seemed very quiet.  Only waited 10 mins for both Rivals and Superman escape. WWF was zero line, and justice league was under 10 mins.
