I dont understand why they dont have the space for the expansion slides to one side so you can sort the raft sliders and the mat sliders by the two staircases, like this:

@Gazza I was thinking it looked set up ready for 2 Aqua loop type slides on each side not raft. But who knows?

Also more interestingly here is the pool thats been talked about. This Pool area gives away massive "Bali" type feels and this entire project looks like its going to change the park for the better. Along with the new entrance, carpark and staff buildings. Gonna be pretty decent park after this. Also see site plan for locations:

Gotta love the originality behind names such as twister and tornado. Starting to look like somewhat of a decent waterpark with random attractions dotted around. I wonder why they're spreading everything out so much though, it's gonna make the park seem somewhat empty, unless they're doing that to be able to increase 'capacity' and/or they are planning to put in filler attractions. + I had no clue outback splash owned that much land, and also quite interesting that a different submission request has to be made for the open and closed parts of slides individually

@Aw hype they can’t build any attractions in the easement I have highlighted in blue. but they can build on the other side off it. With this plan comes the earlier application with a new entrance gate walking into the new pool area. 

What is the easement for? There doesn't appear to be any powerlines, and it doesn't look like drainage. Is it a firebreak?

 

Also, what purpose does the big circle in the middle have?

Nice news and it does seem weird with the slide placement. I always wanted to go on a high speed racer but the half pipe doesn't seem good. I was hoping for a wave pool instead of a normal pool but it seems nicely themed. I hope we get a water coaster eventually.

@AlexB As explained in this video by Proslide the flying saucer element is designed as a banked turn with the saucer being a gimmick.

It's Gas. Spin around and have a look at the signs either side of the road.

The saucers/saws on these slides literally do nothing other than look interesting. They're about as useful as the top half of a Tornado.

That said, they don't use much additional fibreglass according to a Proslide rep I've spoken to, since all you are doing is "unrolling" the top of what would otherwise be an enclosed slide.

It’s the Bunbury to Dampier Gas line which runs through the park.

How has someone managed to consciously buy land for an amusement park on top of a high pressure gas line? Nevertheless, will be pretty funny to see how they build the park around that going forward.

Well keep in mind when the park was originally owned and built it was never intended to be what it is today. The family that own it now brought the park planning to expanded the current park. Easier to expand a park with a brand then to build from the ground. 

Both original expansion plans done by Proslide might give you a better idea of the plans. you can see the easement line in both.

Wet N Wild as a creek going through it too, blocking out a bit of land. Assume it will be treated much the same and just avoid the area.

Only the horizontal loop version, which funnily enough you can already find at the Cockburn ARC

Construction of the lagoon has begun

 

Sure took their time!!

We were invited to the opening of The Lagoon, this week. The new pool area looks great. There are a few cabanas in this area as well as The Deck, which can cater for up to 40 people. The new Gage Roads Bar there is called The Pool House. There are also free pool loungers there as well as reservable ones. 

The pool, itself, is only 1.2-1.3m deep. It’s a great addition to the park and considering the heat wave we’re experiencing at the moment, it’s very timely.
