Certainly looked like it. Unless whatever is planned next now requires that space? (pure speculation)

I mean it's not a bad sign if they've already decided what they're doing with that space, but instead they're going to have back of house sheds and maintenance facilities SMACK BANG in the middle of the park. It seems like a poor choice, but the presence of the points there pretty much confirms it.

Pretty much the entire stretch of new track has been laid, they’re joining up the last of it right now down past the motocoaster launch. No more track leading into rocky hollow station and doesn’t look like a switch is being built there either.

Any further activity where the new points went in?

Didn’t look down that way today with Motocoaster being closed, sorry! They were just joining the track up about an hour ago now so it looks like it’ll be done before the end of today.

The track doesn’t have as step of gradient as I was originally expecting, which is a good thing.

My only hope is they populate this area with heaps of plants. So you don’t just look at a dirt patch when you are on the train, but also to make up for the lack of along the path towards GD

Golden years has shared an update and my prayers have finally been answered after years of posting on here about it. The vine/weed that has wrapped around the fire of the station has finally been removed. Also, they have repainted the columns in the station to a much more traditional DW colour. Hopefully they continue this colour palette across the outside of the station too to bring it close back to its former glory days

While it's not the original green color which I think was the best color scheme, I am honestly really digging this new color choice. I am really glad that the current management are going back to basics a bit with the color schemes. It looks so much classier and less tacky than the in your face bright colors. I'd love to see the rest of the main street buildings get a similar treatment in the near future. It's really good to see the park spending the money on little things like this that make a big difference in the overall experience.

With the main street station getting it's nice update it makes me wonder if the other stations are getting some TLC also.

But what I'm interested in now is the colour of the new carriages and locomotive.

We've got a delay, at least its come along with a reason however. Below us from an email sent to pass holders.

As a valued member of the Dreamworld community, we wanted to share an important update about the beloved Dreamworld Express with you.

You may be aware that due to the construction of Steel Taipan and interruption to the train’s tracks, we had to temporarily close the Dreamworld Express. We’re incredibly excited to get it back on track, however unfortunately it’ll be late to this station! We know you've been eagerly awaiting its return, so we would like to apologise for the delay and assure you that we're doing everything we can to get it open as soon as possible.

Our beautiful new carriages are on the way from the UK, and have been delayed by global shipping challenges, but fret not! We’ll continue to keep you updated as they near our station in the coming months.

Here at Dreamworld, we don’t only have a one-track mind, so as part of the train’s re-opening, we’ve undertaken a range of works to improve your Dreamworld Express experience! Keep reading to find out more.

Finally, don’t forget that good things come to those who wait! We look forward to getting you back on track soon.

- From Conductor Kenny and the Dreamworld team.

Lol the email was a roaring success then

so you’d rather them promise a specific date then push it back continuously? it’s better to announce the actual opening date once they know it can actually open on that day.

Unless they have a electric locking system?

That might open them all at once, but they’ll still need to be closed, and for safety reasons, checked by the conductor even if a guest has already closed it.

(pray that they aren’t like Taipan requiring an RFID scan within a few seconds of closing or the train will never move)
