  1. Lets be honest with ourselves, why would we want it? As i said, they are the things of the 90s and are incredibly outdated. There are so much better coaster types that we could add that would be much more thrilling attractions that would not only grab the attention of the public but also people from oversees. Also, this is modern-day Dreamworld, theming isn't the most important thing anymore. If we were to get a boomerang it would be a handy down and just placed somewhere with zero care. Vekoma wants to move away from the image, they do not even make that arrow-stolen track anymore for their newer coasters. I never thought i would have to defend my position on not wanting a Vekoma boomerang. It would honestly be a joke, and make our up and coming industry look like one too.
  2. Already posted on the COVID thread
  3. That is possibly the longest, non-punctuated sentence I've seen that was not (I presume) doing it intentionally.
  4. @Brad2912 the original concept video showed fountains
  5. I feel sorry for Craig Davidson and Bob Tan right now, they were a good duo!
  6. They are the best duo. Unfortunately they aren't the best duo for running a successful theme park business
  7. It would probably gain a record for tallest, face first, free fall tower too
  8. Clark and Bikash have said those numbers are not viable VRTP and QLD Government would need to work on attendance that can please both parties Me reckons as a prediction 1,000-2,000 people? It all comes down to the waiting game now to see what both parties settled on
  9. Here's a little something! Source: @annastaciamp on Instagram
  10. But would an upgrade to a falcons fury style of ride for GD be enough of an upgrade and worth the cost? I mean people like you and me would love it, but will it give enough bang for buck? Giant drop to some is terrifying as it is already.
  11. Basically because MW has Batwing, and LPS has Hair Raiser and Adventure World has Inferno, so that's basically all the major parks covered with a drop ride unless LPM gets one. I think Aussie World has one in their masterplan too, but they wouldn't have the budget for an Intamin one.
  12. It isn't the only drop ride in Australia. Luna Park Sydney has Hair Raiser.
  13. To be fair @Taj O'Neill the only reason you would post that picture would be to create conversation or discussion. Forums (also known “discussion forums”) are not the place to just post things and not expect commentary or reactions.. so therefore, if you don’t want commentary or reactions - be it positive or negative - then don’t post things. Just like in real life, some people will agree with you, some people won’t.
  14. A quick search on PD Online for the Gold Coast brings up this map and enabling the environmental significance overlays highlights the pink areas. If the island is protected think it is more than safe to say the waters around it wouldn't be allowed to be modified easily either. Of all the community leaders here I think you have chosen the worst to doubt about information relating to Dreamworld and what the park is able to do with the land.
  15. Look man, Ive been here since 2009. I have worked in the theme park industry for years here and over seas. A rep count and post count means someone spends a lot of time on the internet. I just want a source. Having worked for Ardent for many years its the first I ever heard the river was "protected" area. I just want to see a source. I am not doubting someones knowledge but I want to see some proof and the point of a forum is to chat about stuff. Your rep count means nothing to me sorry and for someone who seem to be such a regular on a forum you seem to have no idea how they work. If you dont have an answer to my question dont waste my time trying to put me down and act like some online forum legend no ones ever heard of.
  16. I had a few moments spare, so I drew it up. The back end of WWF and Arkham is a bit of a mess as some studio buildings and park buildings are mixed in, but this is pretty much the park perimeter including all BOH areas. And for those who don't speak in Hectares...
  17. And I’m just confirming what @Coasterlife was speculating on 🤷🏼‍♂️
  18. Sorry folks I took a snippet from the ride’s page on the website, No fountains present here
  19. Here's a picture of Concept Art for the Vortex.
  20. i just assumed because the fountains look like they go high and low and squirt riders
  21. nice to see bikash and clark at sea world they are the best duo in my opinion
  22. Aussie World should consider a Larson-style drop tower like the model LPS has installed. I've always though it was the best ride at Luna Park in my opinion - that drop tower is tiny but it is a genuinely terrifying ride experience, even compared to GD which is over two times the height and other tall drop towers I've ridden overseas. Perfect fit for the park in my opinion, as it isnt an oversized frog hopper like the Zamperla offerings, and it probably is within their budget compared to the Intamin and S&S offerings. As for the face down gondola Falcon's Fury tech, a lot of people on these forums (myself included) have suggested Dreamworld look into whether or not the existing Dreamworld Tower can be converted to use the Falcon's Fury-style ride cars. In my opinion, I think this is how we will get such an experience in Australia.
  23. For me the rationale has nothing to do with the water park. Its because it's called OCEAN Parade and is devoid of anything to do with the Ocean...
  24. Grona Lund is Intamin https://www.intaminworldwide.com/ikaros-groenalund/
  25. VRTP worked with Intamin for Doomsday.
  26. but the price only goes up if they were clones. were they clones?
  27. hey guys im new and i have read through this a bit but a mack power splash would be awesome
  28. Now schools are back he really should go and learn how to punctuate sentences and paragraphs. My 6 year old is learning simple sentences at the moment. Shout out if you need some tutoring outside of school.
  29. Lol you spent more time responding to this thread than an actual theme park trip report I wrote.
  30. I thought you were going to stop now? Jesus christ. And they let you out in public? I'll even save you the effort of going to google... https://www.macworld.com/article/3429201/how-to-take-and-edit-a-screenshot-on-any-iphone.html
  31. $0.50 for each fence rake.
  32. Rivals cost a little more than $35,000,000.
  33. Oh for sure - I promise to get on topic as soon as someone else posts something on-topic. In the meantime, invest in learning how to crop your screenshots (or at least how to save an image from a google image search)... us old fogies can do it on these new fandangled devices... (Oh also, Welcome to Parkz. The first rule of Parkz club - nothing stays on topic for too long. Enjoy your stay!)
  34. I've got an answer to your question. But the forum rules prohibit me from divulging it. I know you've been here since 2009. I can see you've contributed over that time also. (And if you check your profile visitors list you'll see i checked it before i posted my last reply). I figured since you've been here that long that you'd understand that sometimes, things aren't able to be divulged. there's several possible reasons but the main one is usually the right answer. If you can't figure that out after a decade of being here, you're denser that I gave you credit for.
  35. That's true, but we're talking about actual rollercoasters here...
  36. Dreamworld - Remembering the Golden Years posted this, this morning I never knew this was an attraction and there doesnt seem to be much about it anywhere online. I found it ran from 1997 to 2000 and was a part of the Village Oval (which I believe today is Dreamworks). Does anyone remember the attraction? I assume it was similar to Disney’s Jungle Cruise? Was it any good? Did it run on the Murrissipi River?
  37. My favourite part was his pronunciation of Coomera
  38. Florida have just announced phase 1 of the full reopening of the theme parks. Every park must submit their reopening plan to be approved before they are allowed to reopen
  39. Power splash would be the perfect attraction for DW and is a great replacement for RHLR. The footprint of RHLR covers around 140 metres, but the Power Splash does cover a lot more area, so it would head towards the Blue Lagoon area. Hopefully if DW are happy with Mack and their new coaster, hopefully that will lead towards more rides from them.
  40. I definitely don’t think an entire forum should be removed because of some unnecessary/off topic comments. There were some great discussions and information posted in that forum, that could be useful to look back on or compare how are parks handle reopening
  41. @Smol bean welcome to the forums, we hope you enjoy your stay. Just a tip, you can edit the text before posting it, so that you don’t have to say autocorrect messed up Because of corona I doubt we will see any major investments for a few years. But I definitely would love to see they replace HSD2, refurb for WB Kids and once AA is removed, an all new coaster that hasn’t been seen in Aus before (Would love to see a flying coaster)
  42. The screenshot isn’t from then, it just the park are in the process of updating the website so some parts are really outdated, some pages don’t work/exist
  43. Update 06/05 About a quarter of the carpark has been fenced off in preparation for more parts to arrive
  44. @djrappa they were sent to me a few years ago by someone who was part of the construction team
