  1. Dude, if you stop sucking the lemon, you probably wouldn't be so bitter. Anyone would think you've got some sort of personal vendetta.
  2. Much as this seems to be your own personal crusade now (we get it), the reality is you can mount that same argument no matter what income the park gets. It's a closed system, and the fine, frankly, is irrelevant in the whole sad tale.
  3. If you kissed ass any harder you’d tear off skin.
  4. The 'break it up and sell off the pieces' mentality isn't the status quo anymore. As @CaptainLazerGuns suggested above, its more a case of acquiring something that is liquid capital poor, leverage against the asset to obtain financing to improve the product, and then flip it for more than you bought it for. There are pump-and-dump book shuffling, such as we saw with Dick Smith, where they over extended the value by some creative bookkeeping, but due to the public nature of that particular implosion, that method won't escape due diligence checks from buyers in the future. Anyone claiming that Ardent received funds of $70 Million simply because they're potentially going to be fined $4.5 Million needs to go back to third grade mathematics.
  5. Interesting little tidbit buried in the opening hours FAQ for WNW.
  6. Yeah, fuck that company for accepting help to re-open the park and continue to improve it... I got a $7.50 parking ticket the other day. It's fine though, the Government thought it was unfair and I got the $750 COVID supplement the day after so that I could pay my parking ticket
  7. Obviously Ardent’s own announcements that suggest that they’re getting similar funding but it is worth noting that QTC is a state owned investment body whose obligations are to ensure a good return on investment for Queensland. It’s not a case of fairness.
  8. Hopefully everyone who gets government fines will now be given 10 times more money to help pay them 👍

  11. Put in a clause that says none of the $70m can be used to pay any of the potential $4.5m fine

Does anyone think Dreamworld will re-open? the other Gold COast parks have but as a yearly member of Dreamowrld we have had no response. I actually wish these guys would sit down and watch Disney Imagennering on Disney Chanell It might wake them up, the park has lost direction yet I still love it. open to here your opinions.
  14. ummm BGH Capital is an Australian and New Zealand-focused private equity firm established in 2017 by Robin Bishop, Ben Gray and Simon Harle. Yeah see Village are going to use the money to continue their planned capital investment which brings construction and development jobs to Queensland, they also have the doors open which creates more jobs. Ardent plan to use the money to open the gate and cover the losses they have had from their past poor decisions. So none of that money benefits anything. Any jobs they make by being open is offset by all the people they have sacked.

Some updates presumably in preparation for School Holidays at SW/WNW. The listed Virtual Que attractions have been expanded significantly.
  16. Wouldn't shareholders be better off to wait for a rebound then literally selling them at the worst possible time? I've had shares drop at the moment but im certainly not panicking and unloading them.
  17. Assuming Queensland Treasury Corporation is a QLD Gov owned entity, I hope all tourism operators who are in this predicament receive access to similar funding..
  18. Council has just approved an application for 17 trees to be removed. A few are for the construction of the new coaster, and some are due to recent large branch falls onto what would be high traffic areas had the park been open.
