  1. Little nipper has been testing and we also have the coasters logo
  2. Boomerang's track has just been completed with a few bits of catwalk left to install, and not much else work has been done on the site other than the coaster and the station platform. You can see the track peeking above Coney Island, I think it will be an excellent view when we get to ride it
  3. I don’t mind GL either, people complain it is too slow, but I think that’s what adds to the thrills of it going round those tight bends and inverting. It definitely isn’t a bad coaster, but I’d always pick Rivals over it
  4. You say that, and I know I'm a minority here, but I love GL and the ride and thrills it offers are completely different to Rivals. If its working....

  7. I'm curious, can someone explain why all these new rides have a 'temporary' look to them? They're all built on metal bases sitting atop concrete pads instead of being bolted down on piers (like other Roller Coasters for example). Is this just a look LP likes to maintain (like a temporary carnival ride)? Or could it be due to the proximity to the harbour (can't put deep piers in)? Or something else altogther?
  8. Lets be fair here though, ToT is still in all the plans/renders too, and the plans only say 'proposed'. I don't know if this means they're not in-scope of the current works, or just for the current contractors (and that DW will contract someone else to fix up the rail). My thoughts though are that if they were already set on removing the train for good, it would not be sitting outside adjacent to the construction works.
  9. Let's go easy on @TimmyG. Yes they should read ALL previous post so they don't ask questions that have already been answered. @TimmyG When someone corrects you best to trust their judgement in most cases. Especially if its coming from @themagician his not #1 on the forums for no reason. 😂🤣
  10. Someone didn't read far enough back in this thread. Especially Page 21. Especially, especially this post, where it clearly shows that the train's track is re-routed.
  11. 1 point
There’s no doubt the long queues and low capacity suck. I don’t dispute that. I do dispute the fact that someone is purposely going through their day to try to make guests pissed off. There are valid reasons as to why these rides aren’t operating at peak capacity.
  12. Poor BuzzSaw.... It's like when you head into the suburbs and see an old couple still living in their 1970s fibro cottage (Hi Mum & Dad), and then someone buys up the house next door, bulldozes it and builds a 3 storey mansion, and then they are living in someones shadow until the day they die.
  13. Occasionally I'll search through tender websites for theme park projects and yesterday's search at work had delivered some treasure. Here is what is worth noting: This is what the queue line and station looks like. It would appear they are going with a snake skeleton shade structure. Exit Path. There will be 2 tunnels. This is the modern entrance sign is going next to Sky Voyager in Main Street. They will be cutting and filling a sizeable amount of the coaster's site. As a result there will be a large, imposing retaining wall on the Giant Drop side. A look at the station structure. It looks the same as Rivals or Green Lantern. Ramp up to station. An overview of the site. I do not know how this will integrate with Buzzsaw. There is a lot of mentions of the name "Steel Taipan" in the documents, which must be the name they are going to use. When you go to the Australian Trade Mark Search website (https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/quick/result?q=ardent+leisure) you can see they have trademarked that name already. If the trademarks are anything to go by, you would also assume that Sidewinder may be renamed GoldCoaster (or The Gold Coaster or something like that) once when it opens again. There is a lot of PDF files in the tender that were cool to check out including Mack PDF files. Happy to upload them somewhere or send them to Parkz to upload if you all are interested to look at the tender further. And before anyone rages about leaks these files are easily available on the tender site and those names are found on the public Aussie trademark website.
  14. The writing is on the wall isn’t it? Maintenance facility removed, I’d be very surprised if it returns.
  15. Farewell Dreamworld express. Thanks for the photos @Slick’s friend.
