  1. DW saw a working train and had to put a stop to it
  2. They have started to pour concrete into the tall form work this morning
  3. Leviathan wooden roller coaster nears completion at Sea World Leviathan is nearing completion at Sea World with most of the ride's complex, twisted layout in place. Click here to continue reading
  4. Nothing too major to update, but while at the park this morning I noticed they have created a shortcut between Kung Fu Panda and Shrek This connects the Kung Fu Academy and the merry-go-round. Dronkeys Flyers has been completely removed for maintenance Along with this, Shockwave, Tailspin, Escape from Madagascar were all closed for maintenance and Pandamonium was having technical issues. I get maintenance is required, but they should have scheduled it outside the school holidays. A staff member out the front was saying on the PA system for ‘guests to check the A frames for closed rides. Due to COVID, maintenance has been pushed back and is currently impacting a number of our rides’ I also noticed this detail at Central Station It appears that there was something that used to be on a small track under the clock. Anyone know what that this is/was? I definitely think they should do some trimming on the vine that is climbing up the front of the station, it is starting to look messy and I’d love to see all the classic station building again
  5. I believe that most of the ride restrictions come from the ride manufacturers and not the parks themselves. I'd assume the parks have ability to add/remove/modify the restrictions as they wish, but most of what we see isn't dictated by the parks.
  6. Confirming that I’ve just checked as I couldn’t believe they’d have implemented new restrictions on Gold Coaster just because they repainted the trains ... it’s minimum age of 10 if unaccompanied, no age restrictions if with an adult
  7. 15 attractions? How many months in the year when you minus the Christmas holiday period where nothing is usually shut down? Along with the couple of weeks in September, what does it leave you? less than 9 months to cram all your maintenance work into? With major rides usually shutdown 7-10 weeks for maintenance, going to have a lot of overlaps there you can't do anything about. It's all well and good to keep adding rides, but in a park with no seasons, you're going to end up with closures of major attractions outside of the peak holiday periods. Unfortunately it means the times when they try to have everything running with all rides open is also the time when you really don't want to visit due to the crowds. What is the answer? you can keep throwing more staff at it I guess, increase your floor space with bigger workshops, but managing more than a couple ride shutdowns at the same time has got to be a logistical nightmare juggling the shutdowns with the train / car maintenance that happens multiple times a year after they have completed a set number of laps. What happens if you find something broken or damaged? kind of messes up your whole system / plans. There HAS to be a expense management factor given our location and the patronage. If Aus parks had double or triple the yearly attendance, I'm sure they could afford massive maintenance teams and push through all the big attractions virtually at the same time to try limit disruption. But we don't, so you have to work within budgets and try to juggle the schedule as best you can (keeping in mind the new government restrictions mean a ride can't run a day past it's 12 month service interval, so you're kind of bound to last year's maintenance scheduled dates).
  8. The image Luna Park posted here shows Big Dipper 2 (41m) was around 1.5 times the size Big Dipper 3 will be so it'd probably be around 27 metres tall. I really shouldn't be credited for that ahaha, all I've done is taken clips out of existing media and put them onto my channel. Thanks anyways I guess!?! haha
  9. It's a little mini-train that would ride around every so often. It's still there, it 100% works, it just needs to be plugged back in and turned on. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. Yeah me neither, but I already know it’s gonna be good! If you like ejector forces, you will love a Top Spin!
  11. Good Morning Everyone! I'm here to give you an exciting update to the construction at LPS! We have 69 more days left until opening! Interesting... 1st: I wish to apologize for the lack of updates lately. I've been having to take my Mental Heath as more of a priority lately. Thanks to all for taking over this in the meantime! 2nd: Boomerang's tracks, poles, and station is compleated. They are putting in the ride vehicles as we speak! 3rd: Freaky Frog and Cloud 9 have been assembled. There are still some more items to assemble, like the platform. 4th: I don't think anybody's noticed. But there is a toilet block on the plans. So we should see some cinderblocks next to the Big Dipper soon. And 5th: You are now able to see Luna Land from the Harbour Bridge, on the Ferry, in the city. And from basically everywhere near Lavender Bay. This photo was of the top of the Boomerang was taken from Harry's Park, and on a Ferry. Next update will be whenever I get there!
  12. Movie world without a doubt. Dreamworld has lost so much in the recent years. Wipeout was a favourite of mine, the log flume and rapids ride were awesomely themed, and the tower of terror now!? I don’t think Steel Taipan will buy back much of the love had for these lost attractions. I’ve been on a blue fire model in Dubai, and it’s alright. Nothing on the level of a 160km/h launch up a 100m ascent. With Movie World, it’s now the rollercoaster capital (pre much the cedar point) of Australia in my eyes. You have a great variety, intamin accelerator, S&S El Loco (even though it’s down most of the time) and shot tower, and now with Dc Rivals!! Beats Mako for me over in Orlando, which was still awesome. I’m looking forward to what will be replacing Arkham Asylum (please be a B&M please be a B&M)!! My opinions are very coaster oriented, but staff is amazing at MW, DW has had some issues in the past for me with customer service, and the theming at ME really makes this park Australia’s iconic rollercoast.
  13. I think that would be the case because also if you look at this photo the concrete pavement looks to be less than 5 cm thick, but also in the concept art if you look closely in the second photo they look to have a platform over those areas which would hide Those slabs for boomerang
  14. Boomerang's track has just been completed with a few bits of catwalk left to install, and not much else work has been done on the site other than the coaster and the station platform. You can see the track peeking above Coney Island, I think it will be an excellent view when we get to ride it
