  1. No arguments there. But how do you bring about mindset changes? For the first time in the company's history, a Kirby (or Burke) family member isn't in the executive chairman position. And this same person is overseeing day-to-day operations of the theme parks, with a presumed mandate to clean things up. If that's not an opportunity for sweeping changes then I don't know what is. I'd always advocate for industry veteran appointments to positions like these, but at best Village have been treading water since covid (or since Rivals?), and any competent fresh blood at the top is welcome.
  2. It’s like they’re renovating a house with everyone still living inside it, and the builders only showing up when they feel like it. So what’s the point of letting guests into a space that’s mid chaos and nowhere near finished?
  3. MW lost its mojo when it stopped asking, "What experience should we create?" and started asking, "Which DC character can we put on this?" Village can hire all the corporate executives it likes, but nothing will really change until their mindset changes. DW have recognised that. Rivertown was created as an experience first, and the positive reception it's received shows just how much guests value that approach.
  4. Raging Waters Sydney has been sold to Jamberoo Action Park, with the park to now become ‘Sydney Action Park. https://sydneyactionpark.com.au/index-new.html
  5. Indeed, it was scheduled to reopen on Friday. Still says it'll be open by then, I assume they'll try to winch it up to the mid course, but not sure how long that would take. They'd have some experience with this as I think it vallied in the same spot last september closure. Today was the first time I'd visited the park in months and honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Seems like they're slowly starting to turn things around. Hope I haven't spoken too preemptively.
  6. From Australian Broadcasting Corporation News:
  7. Courtesy of Theme Park Girl https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HPy1BRcYw/ It appears all nearly all DC references have been stripped from the supervillians area, aside from the remaining Joker and Harley statues. Statues and all branding/logos gone
  8. They’ve now formally announced it on their socials and also add this post
  9. (Uploading an image of the website for when it eventually gets updated)
  10. HOLY SHIT THATS INCREDIBLE NEWS. Match made in heaven - where Village failed, where Palace trod water, i'm excited to see the Eddys make this park a success! Already they're talking about retheming, extended operating season, and new attractions. Can't wait to see what they do with the place in the off season!
