Movieworld 30 Year Anniversary Celebration Predictions
Pretty sure they've taken on a lot of temporary entertainment staff for this event. Being able to extend it would only be possible if the bulk of those temps were able to extend their contract - this will likely come down to whether anyone had the foresight to include an extension clause in their agreements rather than a fixed term. It'd be nice if they were able to. Honestly for a 30th anniversary it would have been nice if they'd done something that ran all year, even if it had an 'off peak' mode rather than a limited couple-week run during the coldest months of the year.

Assuming it's who I think it is, my goodness he's come along way - and if he still lurks - well done to him.

Dreamworld’s Winterfest 2021
It's really easy - if you go to something, and can't find anything to keep your attention long enough to stay for more than an hour, then it's probably not worth your money. Just because someone has a different opinion, you don't get to invalidate them just because you think that staying for 28% of the event runtime wasn't sufficient to determine their view on it. The 2019 film 'Cats' runs for 1h50m and I watched precisely 0 minutes of it, and I feel i'm able to make a fair judgment. I don't need to watch more than 10 seconds of the Wiggles to know that their music isn't for me. Heck - @ejpdtd even acknowledged they weren't the target audience. SMH.

Movie world Maintenance 2021
If a component was picked up as being below standard, and it wasn't meant to be for some time under the maintenance program, that'd be an unexpected failure and therefore outside of their control, would it not?

I'm sure theming work might take up a bit, but hopefully they're aiming to soft open prior to December anyway...

Luna park 9 new rides construction
I understand what you're saying, but as you say - the old days. Back then the NSWGR also hand-tiled every single city station floor to ceiling and they built buildings out of sandstone. Tradesmen would labour for days tiling intricate mosaics in the men's room while another tradesman spent an hour hand painting the sign on the bathroom door. Labour was cheap and so were materials. And back then things like fire proof materials weren't needed either. to do the same thing these days would cost a HECK of a lot more - Vortex is a great example of function over style. Nothing at LPS will ever be 'immersive' beyond the internal ride experience - there's no escapism, and some facades and artwork don't achieve that either. I'd rather they had a functional, modern, compliant space and pull the park into the future. The old artwork were absolutely classic and should be preserved, but trying to copy it today with modern trades is a poor imitation and i'd rather they didn't.

that's nice dear.

Luna park 9 new rides construction
not sure if its just me, but i don't see LPS as needing to be 'immersive'. its hard to hide the harbour, and it was always a 'seaside fair' so a collection of rides well presented is all i'd ever ask of them.

Oh bud, you've been sheltered if you think Parkz is the only place for that....

Arkham asylum replacement theming??
Why is that though? Arkham was originally the parks signature 'large' coaster - big thrill. Then superman took the crown from the then Lethal Weapon. Then Rivals took the crown from Superman. So what is Arkham's place? third best coaster in the park? it isn't even - I'd argue that Scoob comes in before Arkham, but that is all a matter of opinion anyway. The park has for some time addressed big thrillriders needs, while ignoring, removing, or providing a half-baked effort for those with lesser needs. High capacity family attractions were lost with little or nothing to replace them. River ride was originally replaced with nothing, and then JDS as a very poor substitute. Not really something 'the whole family' can ride. For me, Arkham already has a replacement. The fact that Arkham's site wasn't used for that replacement doesn't matter. We have our big thrills, and as has been said already - trying to top Rivals is probably out of their reach - they simply can't afford to build something that would beat it - and why would you want to right now when Rivals is still regularly packed? No, the Arkham site should be used for something with a wider age\height appeal, preferably something that is more immersive too.

One only has to take a look at his contributions on Parkz to see his bias to media and Parkz members - and essentially anyone that has a single bad word to say about Dreamworld. While that might seem like something a Dreamworld exec might do, you don't get to that level in an organisation bagging out media and fans of your product with a thinly veiled account that uses your own name. Even without his own admission, its very clear it isn't Mr Yong. It's been so long since we had an anticipated coaster build i'd forgotten the construction threads devolved into mindless crap once the track is complete. With no \ minimal work to be done visibly at this point, now we wait for testing... So place your bets folks - what page number does this thread get to before testing - I'm gonna say Page 56.

Usually, when someone suggests cloning something from overseas, its either been cloned 1000 times before or its mega expensive. This thing is supposed to open today, looks fantastic - and the only thing I can't find is the cost. Is this feasible for MW to build? It would have been a great 30th anniversary launch, especially with all the nods to the parks history - gremlins, PASS, etc. Someone needs to tag every VRTP exec in this video daily until they build it.

Dreamworld General Park Update - April 2021
What would you have them do with it? I mean, Disney certainly does keep little mementos from old retired attractions and try and insert them, or at least nods to them in their new ones, but how many six flags parks have the entire ride signage from former attractions, and have done more than just toss them into an old bone yard, or repurposing the materials for other uses? Wonderland tossed ride bridges out into the boneyard when older rides were decommissioned or rethemed and relocated, and folks have been stealing parts of them for years and trying to sell them on ebay (unsuccessfully). Next minute we'll see someone try and make a gofundme to save the log ride sign that will ultimately fall through too. Bottom line - if the materials aren't useful for elsewhere in the park, chuck it in the skip with the rest and move on.

WNW maintenance
I assume Surfrider, like many other rides on the coast had hit it's 10 year teardown requirement. Since the park has moved seasonal (and its never been open any other time anyway) it was probably fine to take their time on this one and prioritise the coasters and other majors at MW.

Actually I think you're right. Maybe rivals didn't need any though as the clearances were all quite big. Gonna be some tight clearances to achieve the desired effects with the tunnel so maybe in this case it is needed?

Movieworld 30 Year Anniversary Celebration Predictions
yes, they do the same shit every night event - cover the traditional archway in gaudy signwriter's steel, and for this event, which is the biggest ever, AND for the 30th anniversary - bigger is better - so they SHOULD have done more than the same shit they do every night event.
