Log Ride Demolition
Ok. You seem to be confused, so let me be VERY specific. The rides sign, at the entrance, where the word 'log ride' was positioned in big letters, just below the word 'rocky hollow' had had the words 'log ride' removed prior to February 23, when I last visited, the day before the inquest findings were handed down. As at February 23, the words 'Rocky Hollow' were still there. And it's still not a sign of demolition. Its just a smart thing to do when you close a ride permanently so people don't get upset when they see a sign for a ride that they can't ride, and is also why the tower of terror signage was removed off the tunnel when tower closed permanently too. it's STILL not a sign of demolition, and it wasn't "JUST RECENTLY" when the ride has been closed for a month, and the signage had already been removed at least two weeks ago.

The part of Slick's article that says that is a quote from Bob Tan. Given recent developments, I'm surprised Bob even knew the park had a hollywood house to begin with. Because he sure as shit didn't seem to recall much else.

Oh, I don't think anybody is suggesting that Movie World's operations have ever been anything you could call "good", but it does sound like you're just getting the unluckier ops days than others.

Log Ride Demolition
The signage came down pretty much when they announced it was closing. it's not a "sign" of demolition...

but were you saving them money in the past? or costing it?

Moving forward isn't, but the loss of the cafe does have some nostalgia attached to it. I'm fairly certain that at least part of this structure was the original 'hollywood house' on property when Longhurst bought the land, wasn't it? So its a fairly significant, and pretty much one of the last remnants of original Dreamworld. I'm not against progress, and moving forward, but it's still a sad day for those who remember it and know its history.

Was the water running on the drop? Honestly - other than for startup checks, they aren't going to be cycling boats for fun. it costs money and causes unnecessary wear. Was the queue line open? Usually west will have staff outside the queuehouse if they aren't open yet. So, the queue was open? were there enough guests for a cycle? had a cycle just finished while you were standing outside West for the length of time it would take a boat to cycle and come down the final drop for you to actually see it? Seriously... Despatch times aren't the fastest, as a matter of fact their operations are pretty fucking pathetic, and by your description, it sounds like queues were open (except maybe Scooby, but the exit shop can be closed even if the ride is open), but you didn't specifically witness a cycle at each ride. This doesn't mean "OMG EVERY RIDE WAS CLOSED". Now, if i've misunderstood, and you spoke to staff at each ride who told you it couldn't open yet, or would open soon, or attempted to join a queue only to find a chain, barrier, roller door or similar, then I apologise. Otherwise, it sounds like a large number of assumptions, and perhaps a couple of tardy ride operators.- Coronavirus and theme parks
However, we have two possible causes here - virus, or inquest. The stocks dropped mostly since the inquest findings were handed down, with virus impacts being felt in some way for the past month. It's at least arguable its unrelated No, however, from what I have read about Corona, it is more easily transmitted, which fudges the numbers of mortality. If 1 in 10 dies of corona, and 1 in 5 dies of the flu, the flu seems worse - but if 1 person gives the flu to 1.5 people on average, and one person gives corona to 2.5 people, then you end up with patient zero infecting more people, leading to more dead. ***Disclaimer - I don't have official numbers, and didn't have time to find them, so this is all just to demonstrate the difference between mortality rate and transmission rates, using the above *completely made up* infection rates. Based on those *completely made up rates* the first person to die is in the third transmission step of corona, but the fourth transmission step of the flu. By the 10th transmission step, almost 1500 would die by corona, and only 35 by the flu. This is also assisted by the fact that we have strains of the flu every year, usually with only minor changes, so many of them have vaccinations ready, or that can be rapidly adjusted to suit. We know when the flu arrives - usually winter time, and we all get jabs and have posters and ads and signs reminding people to practice good hygiene. We also have governments that report health scares quickly, and listen to doctors, and act quickly and proactively to implement controls...- DCR bad efficiency
Perhaps they stop the train on the lift so that they can park the other train into the maintenance bay, which requires switching etc. Having the first train out of station would prevent 'ooopses' happening if the second train was released from the brake run and the track switch was in the wrong position. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but taking additional precautions is how you prevent injury and collisions. All rides? you witnessed every single ride in the park, some spaced quite some distance apart, open at precisely 10:15? If we didn't know already, the inquest findings revealed that a ride can't open if the opening check signoff sheet is missing a signature. Perhaps the ride or two you were near were missing that? I'd rather rides open late, with a thorough maintenance signoff, than be opened on time without it.- Coronavirus and theme parks
It depends. If Adventure World is a theme park, then Paradise Country certainly is, simply by physical park location alone. Is it though? I'd disagree.- Coronavirus and theme parks

missed opportunity there to say 'in the coming weeks'. So instead.... which year?- Disney CEO Bob Iger steps down, replaced by Bob Chapek
As much as many people think Nostalgia is valuable - Disney is a business. if it stops making money, its gone. And when you combine that with people still taking their wallet on vacation year after year, despite closing or changing some 'classics'...well.... why would you keep something that wasn't profitable?- Disney CEO Bob Iger steps down, replaced by Bob Chapek
Many of the qualities being spruiked about Chapek are similar to the qualities shown by Eisner after the death of Frank Wells - but he's well regarded as the guy that saved Disney from bankruptcy and hostile takeovers. Let's face it - Chapek is in the role because the shareholders like what he's doing - because what he's doing saves money, which ultimately goes to the shareholders. I've heard some people say his short term gains will hurt the company long term, as it's reducing the quality of 'the show', which is what people flock to Disney for. The flip side of this is that cuts to navi, GE, GotG, Pixar Pier, the as-yet-to-be-fixed Yeti... - there have been many recent examples of Disney delivering a reduced standard. At the same time, they've increased prices, and attendance has remained 'about the same'. What do we learn from that? We learn that the Brand has built enough of a reputation that people will keep coming back, even with a lower quality product.... and this tells the shareholders and the executives that they can afford to keep being cheap. Until people vote with their wallets about the reduced standards, Disney products across the board will continue to be Chapek'd. Of course, the other theory, is with such big successes in prior years, with the opening of major properties both in the parks division and movie divisions, and the launch of their streaming services and so on and so on, there's not alot slated for this year - so returns to investors this year are likely to be slim. Disney+ is apparently making a loss, Corona has shut down both Hong Kong and Shanghai Parks, and both Tokyo parks are at risk too - this year is looking to be a disaster, and perhaps Iger stepped aside in order to avoid the mud that would stick to the top job. I don't particularly believe in this theory - Chapek has been groomed for the top job for too long for him to be a simple 'fall guy'... but at the end of the day, all we can do is wait...- Thunder River Rapids Incident Coronial Inquest Findings

I think this is potentially the victim of the cost saving issues in itself. Sure. Magician doubted many box buildings in atlantis. i said disney has plenty of buildings painted green. but nobody takes pictures of them, because they're go away green. so the best results i could come up with were other, on-stage items that are go away green, including a box like object in the hub. There's a great building visible from the disneyland railroad between main street and new orleans square that is at the start of a tunnel right before new orleans square. It seems Disney has themed them with new orleans \ margi gras props lately, but there was a time when it was plain go away green with nothing else. There's also plenty of go away green buildings visible from outside the berm too.- Tower of Terror 2 closing
