Any source on that 'weighted differently' rumor? If something is 'more jolting' it sounds to me like it would require 'more maintenance' I don't think the land space on the other side of the entrance to GL is going to be viable - it's a lower ground level than GL is (and GL has already been flooded out - can you imagine something lower?), and Stars Cafe Amenities block is in the way. If you're going to build there, might as well demolish Stars and open the whole area up. Plus - Zacspin is still a terrible idea. Edit: I can see the possibility of a theme for Harry Potter - each carriage themed to a golden snitch or a broom, and make a quidditch tie in (a snitch moves quite similar to a zacspin track... However - the problem with that theme is that WBMW no longer has any license hold for the HP franchise - and the entire theme park licensing is held by Universal...

^Jamberoo relied upon their core attractions for years before coming up with their master plan - and suddenly they're installing new attractions every year or two... Just because it's been 10 years, doesn't mean they will wait another 10 years before the next one... they may have been paying off their primary finance to actually operate the park for the last 10 years, and only now are they starting to generate a profit capable of purchasing new attractions...

The point is that there isn't really a need to ask people if there is anything new. The most common contributors (Gazza, Slick, T-Bone etc) will usually visit the parks semi-regularly, and if they notice anything different they will almost always grab a photo and post it within a day or two (such as the recent pics by T-bone of the Wipeout which I'd predicted would come as I knew he'd been there recently). In addition to that, the many fanboy pages on facebook promoting poorly exposed iPhone shots of 'exclusive content!!!!!!!!!!!' (you must have the exclaimation points or it doesn't count towards your awesomeness score) generally give us a heads up if something might be changing. We're on page 10 of this thread - a lot has been talked about on wild. Several sources both inside and outside VRTP have given gentle hints that the original plan for Wild! has been canned (hence why ALL the signage for it in the park and on the website has disappeared). VRTP may be shelving the idea for a while, or alternatively, they may be thinking about expanding the idea elsewhere - but at this stage I predict no further land reclaimation on that site until a further decision announcement teaser is made. We may see them do something with the land already reclaimed, or we may even see them 're-dredge' that area if they decide not to go ahead with it. Wild! as it was once advertised is no more. It's not coming 'Summer 2014' or even 'Summer 2015'. The idea is buried at this point - to be resurrected in some form in the future maybe... but in the meantime - i think a 'yearly update' on progress would still be too much... let alone a monthly one.

They aren't doing maintenance in the sound stage - thats where they're STORING maintenance stuff - like a gearbox for superman escape (part of the flywheel i'm told). However there are some maintenance buildings next door. The 'door into the empty sound stage' photo that keeps being taken by fanboys is the one up near the old Marvin Rocket end. In my previous post I said probably a third of the building is empty - it is the third of the building at that end. Fanboy photos taken from 'on stage' aren't going to get any shots of anything stored inside the building as they're all at the other end, and behind the angle of the door. (naturally as the other end is the closest to the maintenance buildings). I did manage to take photos of a few parts of the storage area while I was there, but considering the park's stance on photos, and especially back of house photos, i'm not going to post them as I know they'll most likely be taken down almost immediately.

I was in the soundstage last weekend. Believe me - TPSN is playing with themselves, and they forgot the magnifying glass and tweezers. Currently it is storage for WAY more than just the auction - the auction stuff took up probably less than a quarter of the floor space. Probably a third of the building is empty, and the rest is maintenance storage (and christmas theming storage). Unless they saw Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen flying out of there this week... nothing is happening just yet. The park needs a warehouse beyond what they already have... right now i'm of the opinion that the old LTRR building is being used far better as it is than the Mini-MovieWorld Cars Ride...

Unlikely Julie - GL-FF Zacspin opened on 1/7/2011 and the GL el loco opened (officially) on 23/12/2011 (testing was early December). They wouldn't have had time to ride the newly opened coaster, decide against it, order the one they wanted (including custom modifications such as 4 seats abreast) and have it made, shipped, and constructed in 5 months. Just because the theme name was the same, has nothing to do with the type style model of coaster. See this or this or this or this or this

Given your experience, we'll have to agree to disagree. Without riding one - I was the same - it looked amazing - such a compact design, such amazing experiences. I remember when the first images of the concept came out (they were posted on R-C.com.au in i think 2005 or 2006), and I absolutely could not wait to ride it. My experience on Green Lantern - First Flight was just sickening. What I expected to be a smooth, high speed yet amazing ride like X2 (we'd literally just gotten off X2 30 minutes prior, and they looked very similar) was an out of control, jolting trip that thankfully was over when it was. I'm extremely happy there are only 4 of them in the world, and will be quite happy if i never ride any of them again. MDMC was an Australian first too. Another supporter (probably because of the name) who hasn't ridden it. I'm not a fan. Try something else instead.

If LPS installs a Zacspin, I will be required to burn the park to the ground.

Yeah I think it used to be the way that you'd have to line up and fill in a form to get your pass - now that the printers are so quick, if you punch everything in when you purchase them, and just show up with id, they just take your photo, and hey presto - here is your pass. I would suggest since the tickets haven't been redeemed, you probably would be able to make a case to transfer them, provided you had found someone who wanted them, but you'd probably need to talk to guest relations (in both parks) to get the 'approval' to do it... it wouldn't take much though - just call their call centre and explain the situaiton... they may be willing to give you a partial refund instead too.

thats the thing though - WnW GC allow you to take in non-commercial food... whereas all the other parks do not.

it's been said many times that the food isn't necessarily 'good value' but they still make a decent edible burger... it's just not worth $20. If the OP's burger was as bad as he suggested (and if he was as concerned with it making him sick as he suggested) then i'm gobsmacked why he wouldn't have taken it back to the counter, or otherwise complained to guest relations... not even to register a complaint to come back on the next day if he was ill... yet somehow thinks his lawyer is going to fare well against the big corporation. I'm not surprised to hear about your experience Flea - its the kind of experience I expect to hear about at our parks in 90% of cases. There ARE let downs - i've mentioned a few myself in my time, but usually I will take the time to pass feedback to guest relations if i feel it's warranted... and I always make my case with a very objective viewpoint... ie: I don't make the fact that the employee is impeccably presented, looks after his body (and by account, apparently has large muscles and facial acne) an issue that implies that the worker is somehow less capable as a person... I'm not sure whether forum admin or community leaders can restore the original post, but since it was exaggerated at the least, or bullshit at the extreme, it's probably not worth it...

There are enough people here on these boards that know me to confirm that I am in no way an employee or affiliate of VRTP, their parks, offices or other tourism attractions. I know several people who are, however they do not supply me with information that isn't already in the public domain, and any and all of my words are my own. I am an avid park fan, a former employee of Wonderland Sydney (which does give me an insight into the operations of the park from a back-of-house perspective). Where have I contradicted myself? And I provide the justification I do to give the person reading my response an idea of why i'm making the statements I do. 'too much' justification doesn't imply I don't know what i'm talking about. I'm writing based on my previous knowledge, and a couple of well educated guesses. You don't want to create a fuss over anything, but they'll hear from your lawyer if you got sick today. Newsflash - if you'd worked in hospitality management and food and beverage, you'd know that food borne illness can take a week (sometimes more) to show any symptoms. You're just the same as those whingers on the facebook page of large corporations like woolworths and coles, where you want to whinge and whine about how poor the service quality was, but yet you won't actually do anything to address the situation, like take the food back to the counter, or speak to the customer service (guest relations) desk. So don't crap on about how you don't want to make a fuss after the diatribe you just posted under the extraordinarily dramatic title of 'surprisingly, today i'm alive'. "Attention seeker" "drama queen" ...and others i won't say as they stray from facts and become insulting. and of course the original post has been deleted... how convenient. is it just me, or does the writing style seem to match up to XRichardCollins81?

i take the accuracy of your statement - and agree with it - but to me, 'breakdown' doesn't seem to have the same negative connotations as 'safety systems engaging'.. breakdown is like "my car won't start" safety systems engaging is like "there was a potential safety hazard that could have caused serious injury - lucky the safety systems engaged or someone would have died!"

So this is written in the voice of a customer talking to a proprietor - but you've posted it here - to enthusiasts.... did you also post this on their facebook wall? So let me get this straight - you observed the antics in the food outlet, you paid a fortune for the meal, you found it substandard in almost every way included edibility and a risk of food borne illness... ...and you continued to eat it. Thats just stupid. Apart from the fact that cooked beef and bacon is unlikely to harbour much in the way of food borne nasties (it can, but its not the common offender), if there was soemthing so wrong with it - take it back. If they can't replace it because they've shut down (what were you doing eating lunch at 3pm???) then they should refund it... but we'll never know if they did or not because you never tried. Regarding the Calypso Fabio - you've cast a negative opinion on him because he looks after himself well... you have no other information about him, so i'll take your assessment of his ability with a tablespoon of salt. Sure, maintenance was a little out, but it's hardly something to complain about when the park is operating an attraction when the website says they won't be - thats 'bonus' right there. As for Tornado - things happen... maintenance lasts longer or doesn't go to plan. Go back and find all the 'maintenance' discussion threads on these boards over the last 10 years and you'll see that sometimes it runs longer than they anticipate. They can't open a ride that isn't ready to be open just because they said they were going to (and the spanner jockeys aren't the web monkeys, so sometimes the website is gunna be wrong too) You went on a wednesday (midweek) in the final week before school holidays. WHilst guaranteed to be a quiet day for you, you can also bet that the park is going to be bracing itself for the onslaught of a busy holiday season, so generally you can expect: weekday staffing to be cut a little to bulk up for the first weekend of the holidays maintenance furiously running around to get everything right While I don't condone the park operating on skeleton crews, serving poor food, or maintenance blowouts, its sometimes the best business decision to make and so for that reason - you have to expect it may happen sometimes. If you want good food - eat during peak times when it's cooked fresh. if you want all attractions open - go in peak times when everyone else does. Whilst i have no idea who the person was you saw at calypso bay (and don't know anyone who works at WnW at all), the descriptors you use, and the assumptions you make (steroid induced) only point me to the fact that i need to treat everything you say as absolute bullshit.

The time taken to get people off the ride is hardly the park's fault. Sure - where there are escape stairs etc (like say - a coaster) its understandable that the ride could be evacuated by the ride operators in short order. However where each ride carriage is suspended over a void, and requires EWP access like a scissor, boom, basket, cherry picker or telescoping ladder, then the park is at the mercy of rescue personnel operating that machinery - and have their own protocols to ensure each action they take is done safely. As a member of the state emergency service, the protocols just to put a ladder against a house is quite onerous. Nobody was in imminent danger, everyone was safe, and secured appropriately - so doing a rescue safely, yet slowly is hardly something to cry about. And a free ticket valid in the next 12 months as well as various free products is quite generous. Greedy buggers just want to try and rip the park for all they can...
