My thoughts? A little cramped, and not enough space!

The trick is to listen to the sound effects. As it "bounces" there is a chest-thumping "boom". My interpretation of the sound effects in relation to the attraction is this: Pre-Launch, we have a launch countdown, with pictures of the "batwing" aircraft above us. As we move into launch position, vapour shoots out from behind the batwing as the mixture primes the turbines in preparation for ignition (like they do on the space shuttle). As you launch, a thunderous boom is heard, which could be likened to maybe a sonic boom? or maybe just the afterburner firing. As you reach the top, a second thunderous boom is heard, which, in my opinion, would be the afterburner "flaming out". As we now have an engine flaming out, we lose propulsion, and therefore begin to drop, before the burner again ignites, shooting us back up again, before a secondary flame-out, and so on et al.

Gotta call you on it spot - SE usually does have two maintenance periods. Whether they're planned or not i don't know but it does usually go offline at least twice a year.

Gee, that time machine is really getting a lot of use - I just used it to go back to so i could register (today) and mock him. Nathan, there is a difference in relation to the scooby thread, and that is that it was borderline obscene. The user you mention was making sexual references which were inappropriate. I have not done so. Since the previous discussions, I chose to keep my comments out of public forum, and direct them solely at the person who they were intended. Shaun has chosen to publicly post that information, not me. Considering there is more than one Alex registered here, I could easily have denied being the one to do so, but I see no point. They are my feelings, my comments and I made them - privately. He thinks he is embarassing me? I'm not embarassed. I'm not trying to flog my $2 concept on eBay. I am not engaging in any further conversation on the matter, but if we are going to start pointing the rudeness finger, then there are certain cast members of the entertainment division of WBMW who should review the term hippocrite, and how it applies to them, before using the term on somebody else. No, No, No. The boomerang has died its death in Australia. We just shipped one out not long ago, lets not ship one back in. It was a good compact ride design, but the world does not need another vekoma boomerang... Unless it was inverted?

Nathan - All i said was the music was a bit louder. A lot of the other issues are still there. - The fog - it doesn't matter about being "busy" it never got blown away when it was busy before - why now? And sorry, but absolutely NOTHING tackier in the country's best themed ride than a clear bottle of fog fluid and a fogger sitting on the ground in plain view beside the track.

Happy to report I rode scooby this afternoon. THe music is louder. It isn't as loud as it has been, but its better than it was. Even the "scooby doo - where are you" voice at the bottom of the lift is juiced up and you can hear it in the lethal weapon store (which is now open again). A lot of the effects in the first part of the ride are back up and working, lights are on and the timing is fixed. The new coloured lasers, while great, don't have the insane impact that the green lasers and the mirrors did, but it's nice that they were installed. The final drop is better than i've seen it in a while - however, while there WAS enough smoke, to clearly see the cone, and you could see the swirls of smoke wafting through the laser beam, as I've already stated - the RED LASER doesn't hide the drop. The bright lighting behind isn't masked by the red light. it just isn't as bright as the green. I've also been thinking on that - because it was discussed that it had been swapped out to red from the old green one because of the risk to peoples eyes and what not - but happened to notice the green laser at the turntable hasn't been changed to red? Anyhow, it is about time that these things got noticed. I certainly happened to notice the fog machine beside that drop as nathan suggested we look for, and it is certainly quite a lot of fog juice. I am disappointed the main room isn't similarly fogged, but what can you do? While i'm in the posting mood and too lazy to find the right thread - HSD has again updated the show, now using shots from audience reaction into the mix-down scene in the middle of the show. Much better involvement than the old roving camera bit.

It just ****s me to tears that lower case N. If I type too fast i tend to slip the shift key and the N ends up upper case. Going to start a petition (to nobody in particular) to have the N in WetNWild capitalised. Who's with me? lol.

Yeah, i'm not sure if they'd have enough room to fit another coaster, and it couldn't be a big one - maybe they could get Vekoma to custom design a coaster that fits in well with the cliff-face? They could call it the "Big Dipper". And if they've still got some room, they could make this dark\water ride and call it River Caves? Or just a dark ride and call it Ghost Train? In other words, Skyhawk, the ex-Wonderland attraction that Adrenalin Park bought some6-7 years ago, began construction 5-6 years ago, and just never really did much else with it, will finally begin operation at Adrenalin park. *Yawn* It's not a new ride, and if you search the forums (couldn't be bothered myself) you will find numerous threads and mentions of the old skyhawk at Adrenalin park. At least now we have a name - althought I think they've gone a little overboard on name selection. People are going to come off that with a serious let down.

This is the big issue I have though Joz - first of all, It was good enough to spend a heap setting it up in the first place, but even though it still maintains the longest queues in the park (after stunt driver), they aren't willing to spend a bit to keep it that way? Cost over guest experience is not something that I am very used to with WVTP. I understand they have to watch every dollar at the moment, but seriously, we're talking about safety. How can you cheap out and go "we'll just put a light in". Disneyphiles out there would never even dream of those words coming to the lips of the imagineers. And for the country's best themed ride, which in some circles has been compared to some disney attractions - it's just not good enough. WWF Caught fire, and the theming was seriously destroyed. Some said the corrugated iron was a safety thing, others bemoaned the loss of the nice effects and theming, but at the end of the day, it was a "safety" issue, and thats what they hid behind as an excuse not to maintain those effects. What's their excuse for scooby?

Look, i'm not one to jump on the moderation train at the first opportunity... (i usually let it circle twice) but I think we've all been patient long enough - I mean come on - this guy is really starting to grate on my nerves. Every word posted is against the spirit of these forums, surely there is a ban in there somewhere - Where have all the moderators gone?

This was the whole point of the effect. It was designed that way, and it worked for many years before anything began "messing with the brakes". Why not perform maintenance on the brakes more regularly? Run some steel wool through the brake skids during morning check? Daily maintenance would prevent residue build-up... what about water based fog? I really don't think that the fog is the major issue here - the issue is red lasers use a lower frequency than green lasers (or the other way round who cares?) the point is that the red laser does not form the "cone" that the green laser did, and it doesn't hide the drop, particularly when green lights are used on the other side. The GREEN laser hid the GREEN light on the other side. Red doesn't do this so well. TWO WORDS - ABSOLUTE CRAP. Pirates of the caribbean doesn't need more light. Haunted Mansion doesn't need more light. It's called INFRARED CAMERA - with the correct setup, infra red can see in the dark as clear as day. How about instead of ruining the guest experience - we install better infra red emitters to light up the track for the cameras? Same as Gazza above - the attraction is all about the guest experience. Why should some guests experience on thing and others experience others randomly based on the cost efficiencies (because if the ride didn't have any problem with fog buildup in the past how many years???? then it isn't going to continue to build up quickly - and therefore it has to be based on cost)? My final rant, something that nobody in any realm of WVTP employment has come forward to answer, and is very disappointing - is - WHERE HAVE ALL THE SPEAKERS GONE? The Wild Mouse section of the ride used to have speakers all over the room - it was an absolutely immersive experience - now, like someone has said before - it sounds like the speakers have been covered \ stuffed with something - or my ears are full of cotton wool. There is no reason for the sound to be in such a state. Never before have I experienced that ride where I could hear the gondola screech through the brakes, and click clack as it went over track joins or lifted onto it's upstop wheels during airtime. Never before could I hear the hiss of a fogger, or the mechanics of the elevator. My last ride I heard all of these because the sound is just PATHETIC. It needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed NOW.

I'm sure theres something against the community guidelines in that post.... But its funny enough - so i'll just laugh.

Gazza, i think once we see ground breaking it will be something to really get excited about but we have seen concept art in the past which never comes to pass. If it gets off the ground, I am all for it, as we do head up to cairns every now and again, and this is an excuse to go more often. Above everything else I think this park allows a little more room if not an opening line up, but they don't look like they're going to muck around with it much. I'll reserve judgment until i see the block of land they're building on. It will be a real shame if stage one and two take up all available land and leave nothing for further expansion. Keep an eye on this thread though - it may be quiet now, but wait until they break ground..... then it will go triple platinum.

Ok - here we go: Why travel? In true Disney fashion, any Disney Down Under would be uniquely themed to our culture to make it different to the other parks. It would be an icon in itself, and Australia as a tourist destination is pretty high on the worldwide list, so this is just another factor to tip the scales. Wonderland was NOT running at a loss. That is all i am going to say on that. As to being a fantastic theme park - I would say up to about 1995'ish. Sunway was the ruination... so if you want to claim it as fantastic - pick an era. Well to be honest, the Bush Beast was always considered the flagship coaster. Demon was the newest, and for it's time it did the job. Prior owners staying in place - they would have continued to add and expand. Yes - under Sunway, it was a very poor job. When constructed, Bush beast was quality. Unfortunately, it, unlike it's Canadian cousin was not taken care of and over time, it became more painful to ride. It was still great until the day it fell, but overall, it doesn't qualify as Quality, especially if you've ridden any of the bigger ones in north america. Colossus is my personal favourite in that department. You have to be fair and compare apples with apples though Gazza, Compare Dreamworld of 2000 with Wonderland of 2000, and you're pretty close to being on par.

Sorry Ash, but what's wrong with the external theming to Superman Escape? big THREE dimensional signage on the main walkway scorch marks on the soundstage where the track goes through the mist in the same area, which looks great, but also if you aren't looking, you certainly HEAR it additional theming at front entrance\exit of the attraction a queue line that they have actually made an effort on, including instructional video, themed posters and signage \ newspapers on the wall.. Not to mention a coaster train rushing by every 3 or so minutes with superman pushing the back of it Now I will agree, a lot of the newer installations have been lacking, but I can't fault Superman. Sure it could be better, a lot of things could be, but superman had effort put into it, and it wasn't half-assed.

Because that is really what we want our parks to do - reduce the guest experience to fit more in...

What about the movie soudntrack - the saxophones etc?

^^^ And its precisely what candy makers, and other confectioners do all over the world (I'm pretty sure Disney does it?) to entice people in. It's a smart move, IMHO. Subliminal advertising... works every time... it's like when you go to the cinema, and you can smell nothing but popcorn... and it makes you want popcorn... although nothing is like it being fresh hot popped in the butter... not many of them do fresh pop anymore.
