  1. We have previously talked about SW's front entrance. The fact that the front buildings for SW are outlined in blue like the rest of the proposed developments suggests that Sea World's entry would get a facelift too - which i'm supportive of, so that they can actually better organise that whole shitstorm at entry. This proposal includes a multi level car park, which presumably is intended for theme park patrons, but not at VRTP's cost - That would indicate a paid parking system, which i'm not against if reasonably priced, although i'm sure plenty of self-entitled passholes will whinge that their 'free day of entertainment' now costs them $12 in parking fees. There doesn't appear to be provision of Monorail across the new area that would become the carpark, but hopefully they intend to include a monorail station attached to the carpark, and perhaps SW can invest in new rollingstock.
  2. I'm friends with a member of the Williams family (she's quite the performer) and I believe they divested themselves around the time the sponsorship dropped at AOS - im not sure it was as simple as paying some increased fees... Akubra and Driza-Bone come to mind, but neither are a full-wear product. RM and Ringers both do full outfits from boots to hats, as well as saddlery and tack. I'm sure there are many other products out there that fit that bill, but none of which have the depth that would make a partnership profitable for either of them.
  3. Would have been a trial 12 or so months to see if they both enjoyed the benefits. Ringer's is a much more 'horsey people' brand than RM Williams. The general populace probably didn't see the value.
  4. Have to say, unless they plan to do something with the Murrisippi that actually works with the river, they should just drain it, fill it in, and develop it, so that they stop cramming shit into ocean parade.
  5. I couldn't agree more with this, but i'd prefer they kept it lower than 'the highest possible' simply because too big will scare people off riding it, and it becomes an expensive white elephant. A reasonable height, that takes you significantly higher than the surrounding area, enough to see down the beach strip, across the broadwater, or out to sea would be just fine. I know many people who won't ride GD simply because of the height, and that includes people who have previously been on Space Probe - a significantly shorter, but otherwise practically identical ride.
  6. Look - I disagree. the location is great. It's a rarely used area of the park that doesn't see much traffic flow, so by placing the new attraction there, it helps to spread the load. Placing it near jet rescue, in that stupid pathway bridge bottleneck, especially with the flume roped off would be a horrible one-way-street dead end. its bad enough as it is. Hopefully the bigwigs see this, and if so - building at the lighthouse is a good idea, but ensure the pathway you have back down to lakeside into Nickelodeon is widened, as the current bottleneck around the rear corner of lakeside is stupid. thinking about it too, depending on height, it'd be a nice mid-size upgrade - kids go from Nick to something like this, before graduating to the big coasters....
  7. well, dreamworld couldn't keep the buzzsaw blade spinning either - maybe its something in the water?
  8. ...and I made the mistake of expecting you to make realistic statements based in fact and common sense. The percentage of visitors to Australia from overseas, who come here specifically to visit a shithouse themepark that can't keep it's rides open is directly proportionate to the number of brain cells inside the head of someone who thinks Dreamworld is a major factor in overseas tourism destination choices. I never said they were about to start extensions. I never said that was the reason for the fences...
  9. Bullshit. How many overseas tourists do you think are planning holidays to the buttfuck end of the earth to come to Dreamworld? It's a stop on a larger vacation for most. Sure, domestic tourism - it draws people, but Surfer's has always drawn people, which is why tourist traps were built there - including theme parks. Surfer's will survive without Dreamworld, if it came to that - without much more than a blip - VRTP would benefit, as people would no longer have to split their decisions on which park \ group to visit, but people would still come to the gold coast - there'd just be less variety. Well, they've put up fences. Have you seen what TFH charge for fence hire these days?
  10. regarding the tax question, I don't know specifically, but in general - the structure of the group is a 'trust'. trusts are usually bound by a 'deed' which establishes the trust and sets up the rules for which it must abide. Trusts generally aren't taxable as they distribute their profits to beneficiaries. If they want to use the trust assets in a way not permitted by the trust deed, they would need to change the current structures to allow this. A restructure generally comes at a cost, and previously, they've probably considered restructuring too costly for the benefit of the alternative uses. All this is in general, and not specific to their particular circumstances, of which I know zero.
  11. Lego store is still "just a shop" which could be used for anything. hell - you could put it on the 2019 season of 'the block' and turn it into a luxury apartment. from what i've heard i-ride isn't super expensive in the scheme of things, and we all know waterpark investments are far cheaper than other theme park attractions. Movie World just dropped $30Million on a hyper coaster. THAT is fairly significant investment.
  12. I know liking the post is thanks enough, but I had to post - thanks @Coaster Hipster - thats some awesome #content right there!
  13. Probably a case of "it seems to work fine for hypercoaster, so why don't we do the same everywhere?" Must admit, i do find it convenient to get a wristband, scan all the photos and then just select the best ones at the end of the day...
  14. On the contrary, I think all guests are entitled to be treated better than they currently are.
  15. Sadly its something our theme parks don't bother with until about 10 december when they go... "oh shit..."
  16. Yeah, but your books are at a first grade reading level...
  17. A queue of 40 isn't so much bother. Waiting one cycle isn't that terrible. The issue I have is if there is say 28, they stop the 8.... if the queue doesn't get another 12 - do those 8 people miss out? thats my issue.
  18. Honey, put the claws away. Does a bare pooh in the woods?
  19. It's a shame you're sequestered in a separate room. If you were in the hearing room, you could have coughed all over Ritchie, maybe even shook hands with him...
  20. This @Jdude95 coverage is shit. I'm switching to PCL!
