  1. So Looney Tunes River Ride could be called Australia's first water coaster?
  2. It's quite funny reading through the Facebook comments on Dreamworld's announcement for Tailspin - Most of the comments are about bringing the Mine Ride back and a lot of comments are people complaining that it looks just like the Claw and Pandamonium.
  3. It is illegal to take water from a fire fighting hydrant or fire hose reel, unless it is taken for fire fighting purposes. This applies to both public and privately owned fire hose hydrant/ reels. Ensure that fire hoses are not used for wash down. Not only do these hoses use large volumes of water, use of the hose for a non-fire fighting purpose is illegal and large on the spot fines apply. A person must not take water from a fire fighting system or water hydrant without the permission, unless the water is taken for fire fighting purposes (Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008, Section 145 (1)). On the 2spot fines apply with a maximum 1000 penalty units. Water supply act 2008 So Dream World could get relevant council permission to use the fire hydrant.
  4. Here is a shot that I took with the approximate area of the Sea Viper and reclaimed land (calculated by near map). I'm heading out for the day but will be happy to post more pics later on tonight. Here is another shot with a few approximate lengths (by nearmap) added in.
  5. Unfortunately nearmap doesn't have very good "fine tuning" for zooming, I was already stitching one together haha, here it is. Here are the individual shots (zoomed closer).
  6. working in retail people complaining about queues really gets to me haha - we have 4 registers open, but everyone lines up at the one nearest the exit and complains. Or they complain that's is to busy and we should get more operators, just wait 5 or 10 minutes and it will be dead quiet again. Most annoying is when they ask why we bother having 10 checkouts when only 3 or 4 are open at a time.
  7. Maybe they are planning to replace the cars with spinning wild mouse cars, that will face forwards as normal until after the backwards drop
  8. nearmap image of Aussie World construction as of 17 June.
  9. It appears to be a street facade set under construction.
  10. If Disney is not prepared to use Marvel in their own parks (other than meet & greets) I doubt they will have licensing agreements with Dreamworld to do so.
  11. I'm pretty sure Dreamworld has more than 7 rides (if 3 were down as stated, and only 4 left functioning).
  12. Not to much is happening at Movie World that is visible on nearmaps latest images, San Andreas filming is/was in full swing on the back-lot though (21 April and 25 June).
  13. Here is the Wipeout and new ride construction zone as of 25 June. The Big Brother compound is also being worked on in preparation for the 2014 season.
  14. I don't think there is any work happening on the cyclone, the temporary fencing is there as a result of the construction of the new slide. What part of the parks do you want to see? I don't think a single picture of each park will reveal much.
  15. Wasn't it the same wheel that is now the "Wheel of Brisbane" at Southbank?
  16. Some young kids may not feel confident enough to tackle the full size slides and this will be a good introduction for them.
  17. It looks like it says drop zone, a drop zone is a designated place where skydivers land (could be the theme and name of the new ride) And reanimated the first couple of photos are clearly zoomed in or taken from the ocean parade update sign, of course they will be low quality.
  18. I honestly don't mind if it is a power-surge, I just hate how they are hyping it up as the Big9!
  19. I still wish they had put the effort into restoring the Looney Tunes Ride - the ride was a park classic and was still popular even if it was a little lacklustre in its final years.
  20. Looks like Dreamworld may finally be cleaning up its act*, literally! * Or could be a result of the cooler weather
