Do you mean we will start to see the track being installed for both rides? Because we have seen the track for most of this year alongside the road when heading to Paradise Country. Eitherway, I don't see any track being installed this year.

@DaptoFunlandGuy that's awesome, thanks for sharing. Something that they did announce a year ago, that we can see in these images they have also completed is the install of the solar panels. They have used the Exhibition Centre, maintence buildings and when they built the new roof over the dodgems and arcade they've also installed the solar panels on there.

So it was on this day a year ago that Dreamworld made its $60 million announcements of the Dreamland Parents Centre, Dreamworld Flyer, Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland, Ocean Parade Expansion and Rivertown. I know we’re only halfway through the whole construction process, but with everything’s that’s already open, under construction and any new information we’ve found out over the past year, how does everyone know feel about these announcements now? There were a few people on here that had strong opinions about some of the announcements, but also a lot of people were very excited by it all. Personally at the time, I was unsure about the Dreamworld Flyer and Ocean Parade Expansion. But seeing them complete, I think the Dreamworld Flyer was a good decision as it’s transformed the front of the park for the better. And while I still have the opinion the splash pad should have gone in the existing Ocean Parade area, I do think it works better being close to Dreamland and it still leaves a large area of the park for future developments. I had already expected a Dreamworld redevelopment, but I think Dreamland has turned out to be a nice project, and has allowed the kids area to become more complete. The theming and immersion isn’t quite to the level of Dreamworks, but I still think it’s turned out well. And having seen the overall layout of Rivertown, that’s made me even more excited for its opening.

Jaggs had shared that photo on the weekend, so I assume @Rivals has since seen that the yellow track has been put back.

Hence why we also saw the changes and upgrades to The Dreamworld Express. The raising of the station platforms and carriages that allow for wheelchairs were all part of the overall park improvements to make sure every guests, no matter what the disability, can have a good day at the park..

No it doesn’t (unfortunately) and while I definitely think they should retheme it to be more fitting in its context, I don’t think they should necessarily make it part of Rivertown. Rivertown will be their brand new flashy land and I don’t think adding an almost 20 year old coaster to the land is the way to go. They could give it a colour scheme that’s more earthy and better suits the surrounding environment and even the store could be more generic and sell merch based around Rivertown. Because right now MDMC is the one attraction that doesn’t suit its area/land the most and it deserves better (including new trains that don’t hurt)

Under the accessibility page on their website, Dreamworld have created a document called ‘The Dreamworld Visual Story’. They describe it as carefully-curated guide for our guests from how to get here, where to park, right through to what to expect on our rides and who to ask for help if needed. They have two versions of the document, a full version and a more brief version. I have read through both versions of these documents and it’s fantastic to see the park invest time into creating these. On the scheme of things, it’s something small they have done, but I can see it making a massive difference for a lot of guests that need this kind of information. Mushrooms, dinosuars and turbines... those were the days!

@REGIE It was an era in the parks history (which I like to forget about) where there were many attractions that had turbines as part of their theming. It was not kind cool. The cyclone had the largest turbine in the spiral queue. Tower of Terror II had way to many turbines throughout the whole queue. And Shockwave also had turbines (which are the last remaining turbines in the park. Here's an article about the many turbines of TOT: https://www.parkz.com.au/update/2010/09/27/250-Dreamworld_September_2010.html It seems to be a simplified verison of the logo they used for their 40th birthday (which I loved) The new one for their socials but have been done that way to simplify it and make the bold blue pop more as you scroll on your phone.

I haven't heard anything, but I suspect they will follow the trend of the last few summer events and it will be a whole new event

In the meeting they also indicated that sales and attendance has increased (my interpretation is it has increased signficantly compared to last year), so with another three attractions opening, hopefully they have a really good summer holidays.

I wouldn't be though. What we can take from Gumbuya's construction timeline of TNT is this coaster can come together very quickly. They've been pushing dirt around for over a year, but there could be some aspect of the project we didn't get to see them do over the past year (ie. reworking ground services). And maybe they were just taking their time or internal delays that we probably won't ever hear about. My point being, just because we haven't seen much happening yet, in the new year once all the trades are back at work, we should start seeing this come together quickly. All the coaster track could go up in a couple of months and then focus will go towards the theming/queue buildings, etc. And based on what we've heard (which Coaster Studios revealved in one of their videos), they are striving to take what they did with Leviathan to the next level in the Wizard of Land precinct.

For comparison as Gumbuya World have the same coaster. Groundworks began July/August, foundations began in September, with track install soon after and was completed late October/early November. Testing began late November and it opened late December. So far the timeline for Wizard of Oz has been; Arkham Asylum was removed in June 2022, Wizard of Oz was announced in July, site works began October, track arrived April 2023 and foundations/footings began construction Novemebr 2023. And the land won't be opening until late 2024. I understand there is a lot for to be constructed other than the coasters for this land, but so far construction has been very slow. If it opens in December 2024, we are looking at a 2.5 year project timeline from AA's removal to it opening.

Movie World have just shared a video teasing the Mrs Claus' Christmas Feast at this year’s White Christmas and in the video I saw these These could just be new Looney Tunes figures they’ve had made, but to me they greatly resembled the former animatronics/figures that they had on the Looney Tunes River Ride. Can anyone confirm or agree that these could be those said figures from the classic ride?

They did this for DC Rivals where they labelled it as 'The greatest attraction the Southern Hemisphere has ever seen', which there is an argument for, but Leviathan they label as 'World’s most iconic wooden rollercoaster', which is a very brave and bold statement to make

And the fact it’s a major point that is being pushed within the marketing of the ride is hilarious too. If they changed it to be coaster-within-a-coaster I’d allow it.

Probably so they can justify the April opening

I believe in an interview or article (might have been on ParkChat), Funfields indicated that there focus was more on water slides. They indicated that when the weather isn't nice in Victoria, people don't go outside, but when it is nice (and hot) they mostly ride the water slides, so to meet that demand from their guests, that's where they put their focus.

I noticed on the Funfields park map that it states that the Go Karts are set to close in Feburary 2024. My assumption is they are being closed permantley and we could see new attractions built here in the future. However, do the go karts usually close earlier or maybe they are doing some work to them?

They probably saw this and used it for their report I believe the only actual connection is the fact they’re both powered coasters

@DaptoFunlandGuy pretty much. Based off what I could see of the article without paying, I would agree that public transport to the VRTPs could definitley be better. DW is walking distance frp, Coomera Station, but MW/WnW and SW is a bit harder. Yes there is a bus service, but I think for a city like the GC, there should be another public transport option. Accessing Paradise Country is even worse though. Maybe instead of investiating way too much into a hotel, they could invest that into a public transport system to contact the Oxenford parks. Or maybe, just maybe, invest in fixing some of the inpark transport for their park that desperatley needs it, especially for their resort guests.

Very true! But I'd argue that was money well spent because there's a lot of it and it's something everyone notices. If they'd gone cheap on that it would have reduced the quality of the whole area. Other than wishing there was more rockwork around the coaster's track and some more well designed shading for those waiting for riders, there isn't much I can fault about the overall Steel Taipan precinct.
