i’ve always found that ST’s restraints have somehow been better the Rivals as i felt more comfortable in them. will never understand how but they are a bit different even though they’re they have the same restraint system.

Building under construction next to Movie World
Rivals replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
i was going to say possibly it’s new fright night building’s as the WoO construction might block the access points to it, they don’t look like they’d be able to fit 2 mazes though so i’m guessing 1 maze each if that’s the case? wonder where the other ones would go -

i remember their being speculation of a retheme because they said they plan on upgrading the area a while ago, i think when they said it they were just starting the planning process. Dreamwork’s is fine however i think they could give it a minor refurb here and there such as EFM repaint, repaint of some of the buildings and maybe a new ride if they can squeeze one in somewhere, these improvements will just to keep the area fresh for years to come but it’s not essential as the area is enjoyable and well presented. -

sorry i completely forgot about shipping and those other costs but also have no idea how to work those out. let’s just say for a better idea on what we could be seeing that all the left over money will be evenly contributed to those factors, and considering the area isn’t exactly huge it’s still a lot of money and we may actually get really good theming. i do wonder if Dreamworld will do anything to ABC kids land or Dreamworks around the same time to try and one up or create competition again, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens -

from what i’ve found, here are the approximate costs of the two coasters: - Orkanen at fårup sommerland cost approximately $7,295,050aud. - Couldn’t find the cost for the Vekoma Dueling Family Boomerang, however a traditional model costs around $4,219,572aud, so i’d say it would cost maybe $6,000,000aud. putting these costs together the amount being spent on both of the coasters should be around $13,295,050. Using these costs, the area theming could be costing $26,704,950, hope this helps for anyone that was wondering on an approximate theming cost for the area -

i feel like there thinking behind it is “if we make it last minute, it looks like we are nearly finished but just needed to do finishing touches.” won’t be surprised if we hear an announcement of new December dates in the middle of August, around the time they start teasing fright nights. -

i’ve been told (not from a random staff member, a credible source) when asked about a September opening that “there are some delays but very close unfortunately COVID is causing issues.” however, they supposedly expect it to be open by the end of the year because as it’s “not far away from completion.” hopefully they keep their word and by atleast December we’re riding it -

the restraints have changed since the upgrade (pictured below) however, the 110cm height restrictions was put in black a while before the new trains, so maybe the new trains have the same restrictions and they just haven’t been able to change it. here’s the restraint change: old trains: (shared lap bar with an individual seatbelt added months prior to the new trains) new trains: (individual lap bars with no seat belt) -
good thing i know what i said and what i was doing anyways back on top, maze fright night performers and presenters are now being hired
-
no one reinvented anything anyone said except you, i know exactly what i said, how i said, and why i said. i had like 5 minutes to write what i said as some people here are busy, so if there’s any mistakes in what i’ve said then i apologise. i’m done with this conversation now so have a good day.
-
since you clearly can’t read i’ve underlined exactly what i said just for you. i said “i think they will be new as ip licences would’ve expired”, never said 100% they are expired - me thinking this is due to normally the Fright Night maze IP’s only last for 2 years, hence why the mazes only stay for 2 years. I then went onto say “set designs would need replacing / refreshing” if i was alluding to the fact the mazes had been removed, why would i say it would need that? I was pretty clearly alluding to that the mazes most likely haven’t been maintained and just been sitting there since the last event, hence why i said “set designs would need replacing / refreshing” - which also added onto why i think there would be 5 new mazes as i think they haven’t been maintained before telling someone to read something they said, you should try reading stuff properly. I should be able to allude pretty clear points without needing to write an essay explaining the points.
-
i never said it wasn’t, i said it wasn’t still sitting their i said they sets would probably need refreshing and / or replacing if they have not been maintained over the past couple years. The Halloween Ends trailer just came out (below for those who haven’t seen it) and it looks like it would be a great fit, i remember the last Halloween maze being pretty enjoyable and wouldn’t mind a new variation for the new movie. for the other 2 IP Mazes, if halloween wasn’t brought on i’d love to see Scream, as well as The Conjuring 3, after the Conjuring 2 maze (probably my favourite that i’ve experienced) i’ve always wanted to see another Conjuring Maze. I think it’s pretty safe to say if any were returning, it would be IT, the set design alone would guarantee it a second run.
-
I think this year, all 5 mazes will be new as IP licences would’ve expired and set designs would need replacing / refreshing. I also wouldn’t would love if they could pull off 6 quality mazes this year. For the mazes i think we could see: - 2-3x Original Designs - 3 IP Designs (ideas: The Conjuring 3, Malignant, Doctor Sleep, hereditary) for the precincts, i’d love if they would use the old Arkham courtyard (if it’s not demolished yet) for a precinct and then another one in the Kids Area (themed to an abandoned fair ground as the rides will be closed as it isn’t a kids event), then have a maze in the shed behind JDC (i don’t know if it’s occupied or not already) which follows the same theme with killers, zombies or whatever taking over the land. it would be cool if they could use the AA Queue line area for a maze but i don’t think that would happen. anyways these are just ideas and speculation, hopefully we do see this event return this year

Steel Taipan running empty (except for Tailwhip seats)
Rivals replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
This would be a great idea, not last Friday night but the Friday night prior, the ride continued cycling for at least 30mins after park close and guests there for the Moonlight Markets were walking over to the area thinking the ride was open. Having the ride open for a little bit just to finish the TailWhip cycles and having a sign out the front of the area, or even a staff member stating there’s no guarantee that just because you’re joining the general queue, doesn't mean you’ll get a ride if the TailWhip seats have been emptied. -

I wonder if this upcoming 1 day closure for Vortex is just random, or if it will be closed on the 29th of July for the instillation of Trident 👀 -
New Kids Ride at Movie World - April 2023
Rivals replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
the first thing i thought was that it could be at the hut located next to the entrance of the area? there’s been a big wall around it for a while now and it just doesn’t really fit into the area. does anyone know what type of ride it will be, or is it the same type of ride as the original Marvin the Martian ride that was in the area? -

i remember when DCR opened, there was discussion on here about how the last airtime hill’s supports were shaped (pictured below) and if it was to make way for a pathway to new attractions. I have no idea if this is possible, but it certainly is something to think about. credit: Theme Park Ogre - youtube the last time the space was used was for a Fright Nights Maze (IT - 2019), which if that’s the case i’m fine with that just being used for that purpose but i guess we’ll see if it’s being used again this year. couldn’t agree more -

for me i’d love to see: - a GCI coaster in the wild west area would be amazing, however i have no idea how or if they could fit it in. - the original doomsday tower ride (different theme now) installed in the superman ride envelope. - Zamperla Nebulaz installed in the WoO area - Coaster similar to Guardian Of The Galaxy at Epcot either replacing Scooby Doo (if track refurb isn’t done) or possible even JL if it isn’t replace with another dark ride -

Hulk at IOS had a full track replacement once it’s reached the end of its life, nemesis is getting the same work done to it at the end of the year. when the public think of movie world, the two things they think of most of the time is DC and Scooby, possibly superman too. Scooby is too iconic and popular for them to just throw it and start again with a potentially not as good ride. So when Scooby gets to that point and if there is no major issues causing it to be a pain, i could see them replacing most of the track instead of replacing the ride as a whole (lower tension track shouldn’t need replacement such as the dark ride section and station area). Also if the theming for WoO is as good as it looks, i’d love to see them retry and refurbish the theming again. if they were to replace it, i’d love to see a ride similar to Guardians of the galaxy cosmic rewind (obviously the theming would be no where near as good but it would still be a great ride experience) -

due to them recently refurbishing it and how much of a fan favourite it is, i think when it reaches the end of its service life they will give it the hulk / nemesis treat enemy and just replace all tracks, supports and ride system -

the only thing i can think of they’re trying to say is family coaster mixed with a thrill coaster? but it’s not the first so who knows
