  1. You keep saying "not everyone likes coasters" @pushbutton. We absolutely (really really!) understand that's your point of view, and it's not an entirely unique view. However, DW is the one park on that coast that caters best for the "I don't like Coasters" mentality. It's variety of flats is great. DW doesn't need more flats right now, that won't bring crowds back. DW lacks a quality statement Coaster, not necessary a hyper, but a big full circuit offering. It also lacks a quality dark ride, but that's more unlikely than a coaster which can fit fairly natural terrain more easily than having to erect a building to house the ride. The Simpsons Ride is Great, but the cost of it here in Australia would exceed what MW is spending on its hyper. Ardent won't be spending that much on an attraction anytime soon, or ever probably
  2. Wowsers, that's a hell of a stretch @AlexB haha. Comical though. That'd be like the true reason the vintage cars is closed is because the cars ran on tyres, and you sat in a tyre on TRR therefore tyres are evil
  3. Facade door I believe, you can see an outlet in next door in the photo. As for the tv... meh. Why? I'd rather they put the $$$ that went into that into a full page advert in the GCB advertising their nameless Coaster
  4. Sounds like it was executed perfectly...
  5. Imagined that was TRR and RHLR
  6. Super glad I missed that one...
  7. Hopefully a case of a website update being due soon with correct dates rather than something more sinister. Whilst I hope my reservations are unfounded, I'm hoping we are not seeing the early stages of Ardent saying "too expensive to fix until our financial situation improves (or the Park is sold). That type of backwards thinking could cripple the park
  8. Castaway Bay still exists with the Battle Boats and Sky Fortress ropes area.
  9. I know a lot of people weren't fans, but I would probably have to say The Film Vault. The atmosphere created with the smoke and strobes was great, the lack of physical barriers really projected the screams from other groups, and you couldn't see them due to the smoke. Also enjoyed TWD for its strong scenes and references to the show
  10. Since seeing the colour scheme I've been of the opinion it will be a broad theme, as opposed to an individual character. 'Battle for Gotham' 'Metropolis Madness' that type of idea... I don't particularly think the themes of death or suicide are themes I'd associate with a theme park ride (aside from off events like Fright Nights). I don't think those themes are easy to market or advertise to families or tourists. I'd like to think that idea wasn't a serious consideration long before what happened at Dreamworld
  11. Joker had no presence other than a voice over at the loading platform on AA, hardly great use of arguably the greatest comic book villain in existence. In saying that, I'm not certain it's joke themed anyway
  12. Let me just make sure I'm getting this right @Nateihendo you believe Movieworld has chosen the colour for the greatest ride this nation has ever seen, based on the colour of the lens in the goggles worn by a character in a video game... did I get that right? Nevermind the fact that the lenses are actually a dull red, and not magenta at all..
  13. My bad. That different angle on the photo through me off entirely. Guess it will be used for future productions, given Aquaman won't be utilising the tank
  14. A blue screen would more useful being on the same side of the wall The tank is on.
  15. Are you suggesting the side just fell off without intervention?
  16. I personally don't classify photos as merch. Merch is things you buy from the stores. Photos are an extension or add on to a ride imo. Id also say with a decent amount of confidence that photographics would be a different line to merch on VTP's P&L. yes, a burger is food, but it's one option in the park amongst many others. I'd generalise to say you don't get a discount on food as well given it's only available on one option. DW gives pass holders discount to food, everywhere.
  17. As someone who has watched the series, that costume is never warn. That's photoshopped
  18. Makes sense to go through most of winter with zero thrill rides that don't leave you soaking wet...
  19. Not to be argumentative, but from looking at your table of benefits, there is no discounts on merch, or F&B with the exception of one burger meal. Isnt that what TPG said?
  20. Calm down @joz. Suicide Squad wasn't THAT bad... i mean it's not gonna win any oscars, but it's an decent mindless popcorn flick with far too many characters and ideas packed into it. (It did win an oscar, but we'll overlook that haha). Dont see it being Harley themed though. Her Classic comic costume is black/white/red. Her suicide squad costume is red/blue/white. There's no magenta in her character at all.
  21. I'm talking about pass holders, a lot of which are locals. I'd say most locals would be aware that something big is happening at Movieworld, even if they won't know much beyond that
  22. The fact the merch team have decided to allocate non-relative colours to superheroes in order to sell capes with logos isn't the point of my comment. They are not going to design a magenta colour Coaster and say "well it's a supergirl Coaster of course, we sell capes in that colour!" I still stand by it being a superman cape in pink to be attractive to young girls. Supergirl wears zero pink, and every other cape (even those of superheroes that don't wear capes) is relative to the colour of their costume. Anyways, it has nothing to do with the coaster, let's agree on that!
