I do not think I will see it any time soon however I still applaud them for going with a 3D sign. There also appears to be grey supports at the back of the new sign so it may be very possible that there is more to be added.

IMHO the rides models on top of the globe look reminiscent of cake toppers, I do like the effort and it’s better than a 2d sign, just the models themselves look like they were made from fondant.

That’s what I heard as well with February 2027 slated to be the potential month of closure.

I have not heard anything about SE being removed; what I have heard is that it will be retrofitted with LSM (much like TT2, or ThunderVolt at PNE Playland no mention of a specific manufacturer). If they did end up choosing Zamperla maybe we will see a replacement to DDD as part of a deal. SE plot of land is very constrained so I can’t see them opting for an outright removal.

I have heard that it will be closing for a major refurbishment in February much in the same way Mick Dohans Moto coaster did it’s sad to see it close for more then a month just prior to this. This is pure rumours and speculation at this point as it was not a primary source I heard it from.

Regardless of the layout, it closely resembles Rita at Alton Towers; although Rite is widely called a more “intense coaster,” people still complain Rita’s layout. Because MC and Rita share such similar layouts, I am unsure whether a theming upgrade will achieve much. SDSC would have delivered a strong return on investment given its popularity and cult following, so unless Dreamworld quickly turns MC into a cult classic like by add a dark ride section, enclosing the ride, adding onboard audio or by making actual track changes to create a more contemporary layout I doubt it will match the return that of SDSC or KC achieved, especially as $20m I would assume is nearly the same price they paid for all of RT ($30m)

There’s a rumour that Maverick at CP needs a retrack it’s an LSM launch coaster which used to use the same trains as superman (still does just with softer harnesses) And so there’s little doubt that it can be done, it’s just literally if Village wants spend the money on it, the ride is 20+yrs old so maybe it is time for a new coaster entirely. Could be a Vekoma launched coaster, they did just work with Vekoma so it would make sense to get a package deal, however we have seen that Movie World only gets investments once every 7 years so I would say confidently that we shouldn’t expect to see anything for another couple of years.

I won’t be able to make it back to the park for a couple of weeks but I rode both Niagara Falls and Australia and they were allowing loose items both times, with I believe different staff. I may be wrong but it seems interesting considering they were talking about efficiency a lot in the Lost Mine Mayhem announcement.

Yes it appears that they are relaxing some of the loose item polices, I went on Sky Voyager as I wanted to ride the new Niagara Falls show and they have relaxed the polices there around loose items, I was able to record the whole ride experience. I have only recently moved up to the Gold Coast last month so I’m not sure if these are changed polices or if anything has changed, however the video in that room said no loose items, but when I went in the staff didn’t seem to care about loose items and told people they can keep their phones with them.

In the Lost Mine Mayhem announcement, Greg and Dreamworld as a whole made a big deal about their effort to increase ride efficiencies, today when I was in the park I noticed some rides had new lose items polices. Is this a thing others have noticed, or am I just reading too far into changed loose item polices. If they have then that is great, could we finally see a timeline where I could wear my glasses on Jungle Rush, Steel Taipan and others?

It’s a rumour that TT2 had a proposal by Intamin as well however was too expensive and Zamprla chosen. Even then it’s proven you can retrofit intamin hydraulic launch coasters even if not by Intamin themselves.

after leviathan I cant see Dreamworld wanting to get a woodie, also if they are investing in a new coaster I can see them doing something gimmicky like a tilt, or tallest fastest type (at least in Aus) as thats the type of roller coasters they have been investing in over the past few years, JR (with the switch track) ST (with the triple launch) KC (tallest pendulum in Aus) and so I don't see a woodie being part of the line up for the near-term future. A hyper or giga is a good idea however and I could defiantly see them doing something like that.

I’d love to see a fantasy land with a water ride and a roller coaster as the two lands flagship rides.

I’m surprised they didn’t want to re-track or change / add new elements to the layout as 2027 marks the rides 20th year I wonder how long they will get with the new one before eventually they need to close it again.
