Quite a bit early to start a thread on this but thought it’d be good for speculation now.

Dreamworld Announced a brand new land to come after LMM with no other specifics beyond that. I don’t expect this land until at least 2029-2031 but it’s fairly obvious it’ll take over Rocky Hollow and potentially Blue Lagoon if that land is not being used by DW’s other new developments.

Personally I’d love to see a more out there theme for this land whether fantasy or science fiction to provide something different to the other lands across the park that are more grounded and realistic and really lean into the idea of something fictional where a lot of creative theming can be done.

I was so excited when I heard this!!! I think budget needs to be realistic so the land suited to the environment around it, I think science fiction/space would be cost prohibitive. I would hope this new land has a thrill coaster to really nail the spot as no1. park on the coast and a show. Maybe an outback raceway?

I would love a water ride! Would be interesting to see where they would want to go with theming however. Water show would work well aswell, summer/ winter version.

As a Water Ride fanatic, I’d kill for any kind of water ride at dreamworld. I understand the connotation reasons why they’d wouldn’t want to but I think now their reputation as positive as it is again, it wouldn’t be impossible to introduce something not made in house with someone like Mack or WhiteWaterWest that wouldn’t cause a huge amount controversy while having great theming.

Either a mack rocking boat (like what dollywood's installed this year) or a shoot the chutes (jurassic park like) are at the very top of the wishlist.

Would go for a dinosaur theme. You have rainforest/jungle, outback, beach, main street. Dreamworld clearly tried to make the Gold Coast equivalent to Adventureland with Rivertown, why not do something like the Jurassic Park lands at Universal next?

I know a place down in sydney I reckon you could get some dinosaurs pretty cheap.

I’d love to see a fantasy land with a water ride and a roller coaster as the two lands flagship rides.

I do really hope their new land features a new flagship thrill rollercoaster.
It's nice that so much attention has been given to family rides recently.

But with the age of The Gold Coaster, and it generally being not the most enjoyable experience. The park really only has Steel Taipan to lead on the thrill side.

I would prefer something airtime focused personally, I think it would contrast Steel Taipan nicely.

An Airtime machine like a woodie or something akin to a hyper or giga would be really nice to have and they would have a good amount of land back there to do one at a similar length or longer then ST at least. I would also love some interaction between the rides within the land ala a coaster going around a water ride. It can look great and would do well in adding kinetics to the land.

after leviathan I cant see Dreamworld wanting to get a woodie, also if they are investing in a new coaster I can see them doing something gimmicky like a tilt, or tallest fastest type (at least in Aus) as thats the type of roller coasters they have been investing in over the past few years, JR (with the switch track) ST (with the triple launch) KC (tallest pendulum in Aus) and so I don't see a woodie being part of the line up for the near-term future.

A hyper or giga is a good idea however and I could defiantly see them doing something like that.

If we keep with the general biomes idea they have going, They can either extend the Outback theming from the [Insert current wildlife area name here], or go Rainforest or Snow. And much like the Hunger Games, i see Snow losing here. Any degree of Western theming they run with here would be arguably too close to RT, and depending on how it's implemented, Rainforest could be close to TI and RT. My money is on something Rainforest adjacent, provided they lean into the fern heavy aesthetic like Taronga has for Blue Mountains Bushwalk, And it lends itself really well for basically anything. Woodie? Water Ride? Dinosaurs? A water based woodie hybrid centred around dinosaurs? It just works.

My woodie dreams are more of an unrealistic wish to be able to ride a woodie that doesn't give me a mini migraine when I get off it more than anything else.

An RMC I-Box track would solve the issues on roughness if they wanted to go down the wooden route. It's also something we haven't seen in Australia before, that is massively successful overseas.

I am sure Vekoma, Intamin or Mack would be able to come up with an imposing coaster that will suit the line-up nicely. Obviously, an airtime machine would be lovely, but it doesn't have to be.

A water ride is obviously needed at some point, but personally, Dreamworld needs something big and bold.

I also now realise I am just repeating what I said in a previous post from a year ago.
But from the previous visits to Dreamworld, you can only re-ride Steel Taipan so many times. It's a really fun ride, but it's not strong enough to be the park's sole modern thrill coaster.

I think they need a water ride, but a Rocking Boat imo would be too risky for the public given what did happen is still fresh on the media and public’s mind and will most likely forever be a conversation. I think a modern flume like Rip Roaring Falls with a lot of theming and a coaster wrapping around the land would work well.

IMO an Intamin Hyper going down towards the entrance road to the park would look great, driving in seeing the two headlining coasters with giant drop in the background would work well. Especially when they eventually (hopefully) replace GC with another headlining thrill coaster.

I could see the new land going for more of a Steampunk feel as Rainforest or anything Jungle is definitely more Rivertown leaning.

I think that speaks to the manufacturer, or the issues that plagued construction throughout covid, or even potentially the part that executives robbing the company blind could have played in this here, rather than tar every wooden coaster with the same brush.

There are plenty of woodies overseas operating for decades, plus Wonderland operated 2 of them successfully for almost 20 years, with only minimal roughness (compared to Levi) towards the end of their lifespan (which may also be somewhat contributed to by a reduction in maintenance towards the end too)

My hot take (which I've said before) is that Gold Coaster needs to go and the entire end of Ocean Parade needs redeveloping from Wipeout to Kevil Hill. That is an enormous amount of land which includes Trolls Village area and Thunderbolt plot, as well as the exhibition centre. It could accommodate waterpark expansion, but given the WWW is closed for half the year, that seems like a poor use of land.

The exhibition centre could be replaced with a much better auditorium space built in the redevelopment at the other end of the park which would be more than just a shed - especially if a hotel is planned. This would free up that building for rides/show spaces within the park footprint.

I'm fairly agnostic about ride types. But DW's line up is definitely short of a major high-thrill coaster, a small thrill coaster (eg. mad mouse, axis, 4D free-spin), a dark ride and a water ride (which could be combined into one great ride). Flats wise they have a lot of spinning rides, so I'd like to see some more gentle options, like Zamperla Big Wavez or Nebulaz (or both) which aren't very thrilling but are good rides to fill the gap between K&B dreamland and the big thrill rides. They're also visually impressive.

I would fix that end of the park first before expanding into Blue Lagoon. It is an eye-sore and a dead-end currently, and the connection between the wet and dry parks needs to be addressed.

Well hey there is a young RMC up for sale in Arie Force One ;)

I would also see love to see an Art Engineering wild swing come to Aus.

And I think you can get away with a Mack Rockin' Tug because its on coaster track and is therefore a controlled environment and not free flowing.

But the Intamin rapid with the half pip bowl like Amazonia with the drop track at the end looks awesome.
